They removed it because it was an under performing mess.

How what?
-
How was it underperforming? It’s a game mode for people who like the competitiveness.
-
less than 6k people going flawless a week (4 day week), it was full of laggers, recoveries and cheaters to the point where people were being banned by the dozens every Monday, the forums were full of people complaining about the way it was set up, they did not like the game modes, they did not like the drop system.... pretty much everything about it was disliked. If you were around when it was live you would know it was not a good mode at all.

I’ve went flawless on D1 and D2. With friends, and people from lfg alike. Just because it has issues, people who couldn’t get there, and other issues they could have fixed. Does not mean that they should have completed abandoned it, and left the people who enjoy the PvP side of things out in the cold. Now they only give us iron banner which is just normal crucible with pinnacle engrams... all I’m saying is if you didn’t like Trials you didn’t have to play it, but Trials was one of the best endgame PvP activities Destiny had.

Trials was not up to snuff, and on the whole it only brought problems to the community. Don't bring your rough draft to my table and present it to me as a finished project.

Filthy casual
-
I'm a "filthy casual" for wanting a good game mode in a game? I don't want a laggy cheater filled half attempt, either give me a good game mode or give me nothing at all.
-
D1 was a different animal.
Just because it has issues, people who couldn’t get there, and other issues they could have fixed.
It wasnt that people couldnt get there, it sucked so no one was playing it.
Does not mean that they should have completed abandoned it, and left the people who enjoy the PvP side of things out in the cold.
Yes, it actually does. If the mode is not performing to their standards, they should pull it and rework it (what they have been doing) opposed to letting it fester and waste their resources creating weapons/gear for it each season.
Now they only give us iron banner which is just normal crucible with pinnacle engrams
Trials was just competitive with locked load-outs and match making removed.
all I’m saying is if you didn’t like Trials you didn’t have to play it, but
I played it, I went flawless, the mode sucked. I was not the only one with that opinion. It was not being played by enough players to justify it being there. You could run your complete card and face the same 3-4 teams each match, there were so few teams playing it.
Trials was one of the best endgame PvP activities Destiny had.
Trials of Osiris was great. Trials of the Nine failed to meet most players expectations.

Lol your right casuals ruined the game.
-
It was a bad mode, one that even highly skilled dedicated players did not like. I mean, you stopped playing after season 1 so you could not have found it too much of a draw
-
I stopped playing because the lack of content after the raid. I was 300 before the normal leviathan raid was even live. That’s why I stopped playing.
-
Like I said, trials was not a draw to you. The people who did stick around the game for the past 2 years really did not like trials, they did not play trials so it was removed.
-
I did also play trials though, I have all the gear for my hunter and went flawless atleast 3 times. Just posting to encourage a return.
-
and I understand and support your wanting a return, I was replying to the 2nd part of your title, wanting an explanation to why it was removed.
-
I know why it was removed but it’s been gone for a minute now, and I think they could have reworked it by now. I mean they have had plenty of time to make all these pretty EVERVERSE items
-
I know why it was removed but it’s been gone for a minute now, and I think they could have reworked it by now. I mean they have had plenty of time to make all these pretty EVERVERSE items
You should read the posts from the past 4-5 months, that was explained. they do not want to bring trials back until they fix the foundational issues of pvp. And Eververse pays the bills, regardless of what the forums are posting, people want and buy stuff from it so yes, they are going to put resources there. They probably sell to more people in a weekend than people who played trials.

It still offered an exclusive rewards pool which offered more depth to the game, and also brought so many people together.
