Seems odd that this basic functionality is still being redirected to a browser. To equate it to other titles, wouldn't it be ridiculous if say WoW/FFXIV/PoE/Apex even the single player/co-op experiences out there, to have the player find a party through a website then tab back in game to invite them.
Big or small it must have some impact on warding off new-comers to enjoy endgame content by not having a party finder in game. Personally speaking a couple buddies have stopped progressing for that very reason.
Has there been any word from the devs whether or not this will be done?

1 RespuestaBungie thinks its 2003. So unlikely.
-
Guided games 😀
-
That would cost Bungie money to develop while others have already done the work and give them to you for free.

I can pretty much say that after testing the game on F2P that I wont be buying the expansions exactly because of the lack of matchmaking in everything except a few things, mostly the low lvl strikes, its just insane that any game in 2019 soon 2020 has to do what should be a simple thing out of game. Even using the out of game website or 3rd party sites is a colossal pain in the backside, esp bungie's own system where you cant even do a search on fireteam names so see what you want, even when they did add an out of game system they still manage to make a mess of that by not adding a blasted search function, its like they want to make a prety as possible a game then threw everything else in with minimum effort and care. You will no doubt get all the "I manage it manually so everyone else should as well" types all making sure the game does not improve and giving the various silly reasons why it should remain a half baked system but the option should be there exactly so you have the option, adding it does not affect anyone else who already uses other means, they can still carry on as usual but randoms can still take the option of matchmade content allround.

5 RespuestasMatchmaking in raids would be such an abomination, obviously I wouldn’t be affected as I’d keep using LFG sites but trust, raid matchmaking wouldn’t make your chances of a clear any better

1 RespuestaEditado por TheKFDCase: 10/27/2019 10:02:41 PMBingo to all of it. I have a Titan, a Warlock, and a Hunter. As of today they are each at 963 light level. They have access to most, though not all (yet) exotics, and while their gear hasn't been fully masterworked (partly because I'm about to quit the game due to hitting a progression wall because....)....because I can't get into raiding in-game. Sure, third-party websites not officiated nor in any way directly tied to Bungie exist where players can set up their own matchmaking; a process that takes 10 to 12 steps vs. 1-2 steps with 20+ year old standard matchmaking procedures in just about every other online game in existence. It's infuriating how smug, arrogant, flippant, and lazy Bungie has been and apparently still is on such matters. Unless that changes (hint to the LFG fanbois out there: *optional* matchmaking means just that - it's optional; it *does not* affect you or your buddy parties whatsoever), I will not be spending any further money on present nor future Bungie products/services. I'll display the same interest and sense of fairplay towards Bungie as they've displayed towards myself and goodness knows how many other players. Turnabout is fair play. :-)
-
Yeah but doing something like that would actually require some effort
-
they tried a half hearted guided games feature at launch of d2 but that flopped and they've never said anything more about it, don't get your hopes up
-
In this game? No. In this franchise? Not sure… and if that doesn’t change, this game will remain limited.
-
2 RespuestasIt stops me from doing endgame.. haven’t raided or done nightfalls since og destiny
-
You mean actual social spaces? No. They would rather have a hub like the tower that exists to extend your daily hours logged. Actual features and cool things for the world don't need to exist.

4 RespuestasEditado por Northern: 10/28/2019 8:36:36 AMI'd imagine New light must be a bewildering and at times frustrating experience. Laughable that LFG occurs outside the game in 2019.

3 RespuestasI don’t think there has been any word from the devs. I imagine the new players don’t even know that this app exists or how to use the terrible fireteam tool on here. I really wish it had the Duty Finder (and the daily roulettes) and party finder from ffxiv for raids and harder content.
-
Yeah it's called use the app, and find a group. Hurr durrr
-
Lfg hub just needs to go to the bungie.net website/lfg with the system's browser
-
No, probably not
-
So, you have chosen death. -Bungie's QoL department
-
This is one of Bungies die on the cross issues they have said on a number of occasions that they would never have matchmaking for everything so I would imagine that this type of tool is too close to this position.
-
Would have happened by now, methinks. It’s not like using the companion app has been a problem for me; though. I wager I can do it faster on my phone than on my console, anyway.
-
Probably. If it’s not a reskin it’s too much.
-
I'd say it's a definite no. Bungie are more than happy to let 3rd parties do as much work for them as possible.... especially when they don't have to pay them...
-
2 RespuestasPeople been asking about this since forever. They said something along the lines of reinforced commitment if you're willing to use lfg. Lol. My guess is they physically can't do it for whatever reason. But anyway lfg is pretty easy to get to and use so it doesn't matter that much
-
1 RespuestaI'm not sure they will. If it was something easy to do people would not have as much of an attachment and this game absolutely has an addiction model. They want you to make fake friends. Feel attached to playing. It keeps you spending.

If people quit crying about how "toxic" it is maybe
