The james younger situation just seems crazy to me.

Look, I have no intention of ripping on trans people. And if this post ends up offending somebody that isnt my intention. As far as I'm concerned if an adult identifies as something other than their biological sex and wants to live their life accordingly they get to make that decision. And my opinion on, for example, whether it would be better for them to "go in that direction" vs try to accept the way they were born, isnt really relevant. Because they have the liberty to make that decision. But I dont understand how a 7 year old boy can possibly be able to make a decision that significant. I'm not gonna pretend I have a PhD in child psychology or something but we wouldn't let a child that young get a tattoo, or a credit card, or sign a contract and if they did something illegal they would not be treated as an adult and I simply cannot fathom that a person should be able, or allowed even, to make a permanent, life altering decision like that at the age of 7. And theres video of the kid, apparently at age 3, saying that "mommy tells me I'm a girl" and all this other stuff. I'm not even convinced this kid necessarily identifies as a girl, I think theres a pretty good chance his mother is influencing this and hes just going along with it. And apparently when he hangs out with his dad what do you know, he acts like a boy and (at least from the reports I've read) seems fine "being a boy". But you know, dad lost custody.
