CAT6 lan cables and ps4
Does anyone else have trouble with disconnecting using CAT6? I can’t remember where but i read somewhere PS4’s didn’t play to nice with those cables. Everytime i cold boot my ps it disconnects without fail within 10 minutes and then goes back to normal. Is anyone else experiencing this ‘warm up’ phase and are you using CAT6?

22 RespuestasI;m using cat 6 with no issue. I'd try another cable / router port. CAT 6 is Cat 5 with tinfoil shielding. I use it because the wiring in my house is quite old and it game me a bump of 1.5Mbps on the wan speed.

The only issues I seem to have using the CAT6 is every once in a while I’ll get a message across the screen that says the LAN cable is not connected. Then the message disappears but I’m actually still connected and don’t lose service when that message is displayed.

I'm using Cat6 throughout my house, including connected to the PS4 Pro and I've never had a network hiccup on the Playstation. If you suspect the cabling then I suggest try using another cable.

No problem with cat6 on mine. You just need to close game and wait then close down. If you rush it then you will start having a problem. An engineer told me this.
