The Shadowkeep "vendor refresh"

TL;DR: Bungie appears to be diverting development resources away from the core areas of the game and is putting them into Eververse instead. Almost all PvE games make loot refreshes a core feature of major updates, and that loot is refreshed across the core of those games. This is not okay. Bungie, if the only people that decide Destiny's future truly is you and us (the players), then listen to your players. Stop diverting so many resources into Eververse and start working on the core of the game again. We are okay with Eververse as it is. The role that it must play moving forward. Just stop making it the ONLY source of new unique seasonal loot. Okay Bungie, some tough love here. I love Destiny 2 and have stuck with it since launch, through the good and the bad. I never played D1 (PC exclusively) and honestly just had a blast with what the game was at the time. I've been happy as it has grown and evolved into an even better game. I look forward to where it will go. Now, we need to address something. You have said that there will be a vendor refresh in Shadowkeep. Reading the fine print, there will NOT be a vendor refresh in Shadowkeep. I appreciate and acknowledge that the year 1 armor will make a return as Armor 2.0 variants for all available vendors. I appreciate that this represents a lot of work and effort. This is still not acceptable to me and I'll explain why. During year 1 of D2, we got tower vendor refreshes every season. We had three separate variants of tower vendor armor and weapons. Crucible, Vanguard, Weapon Smith, Factions, Iron Banner. And Eververse. In year 2, we received Iron Banner refreshes each season. And Eververse. It doesn't take much to see what's going on. Bungie, you're diverting resources away from the game itself and are funneling those resources into Eververse. All of the unique and new content is being released almost exclusively in Eververse. And now we have the news that the raid armor for Shadowkeep is not new, nor is it exclusive. It's a reskin of Eververse armor from season 2, which many of us already have. Do you know what will absolutely not be a reskin? Eververse armor. I respect and acknowledge that Eververse is going to become your primary revenue stream. You're making a bold and wonderful decision to basically make D2 free to play and will be supporting it primarily through Eververse, which is awesome. I've bought things from Eververse. I'm okay with spending extra money on a game that I love. Just please, if you're serious about Destiny being steered by no one other than Bungie and the players of Destiny, please listen to this input from your players. Learn from this. Make unique armor set refreshes a priority as soon as possible. Your development is parallel, so I don't expect it in Season of Dawn, maybe not even the season after that. But we NEED new loot for all of the core Destiny activities. Crucible. Vanguard. Gambit. Raids. This past year where there has been no refreshes has honestly sucked from a loot game perspective. New armor ornaments or new armor outright would have gone a LONG way in making crucible and strikes more enjoyable. Instead, they felt like a chore. Bungie, I'm begging you. Refresh the loot for real. Give us new things, not just year 1 stuff. If this takes more time, then take more time. I wouldn't mind if you had to make it 3 seasons per year instead of 4. I can do trimesters. I want new things, but I don't want Bungie employees to want new jobs. If you are too stretched and that's why you're committing so hard to reusing assets, I understand. But take more time. Keep your people happy. They're my people too. I'm happy if they're happy, and if they're not happy then I'm not happy. If the cost of content and quality is time, then I get it. Take more time. I'll still be buying Eververse stuff (even though my wife will tell me that I'm dumb and that we're poor college students). Whether you do or do not, I'll still be here. I still love Destiny. Why am I saying this? Maybe it's because I'm naive. Maybe it's because I'm hopeful. Maybe it's because I still believe you. I believe when you say that the voice of your players also guides your game.
