Wayyyyy to long just to get one set done. The grind for the armor last year was miles better than this year. I enjoyed the story missions from last year that took out some of the stress of playing freaking ten Gambit games, strikes and crucible games.
I have a job to go to every morning. I don’t have time to dump two days worth of grinding just because some whiney youtubers demands everyone should grind all day long with no breaks just to get a set done.
I want to play other games rather than get all three sets done and lock a sparrow behind it just because people have no life or time on their hands.
This solstice event was done so poorly due to these problems.

2 RespuestasIt was just boring. Literally had no fun grinding any of it. Did not feel like a celebration

Editado por Celoxamortis: 8/27/2019 4:11:51 PMMy biggest complaint with the armor was the EAZ. I found it so unfun that I didn't even bother with the armor this year. I enjoyed year 1's solstice armor activity design where we went back and revisited harder versions of the game's story missions. I don't understand why that couldn't have been done here as well. Harder versions of the Scorn Barons, harder versions of the intro and final missions, harder versions of the various weekly Dreaming City missions. Instead we got a cobbled together (almost literally) zone that has no real relevance to the game and then had to run it a disgusting amount of times -- even after the nerfs -- to finish the armor sets. I found the EAZ to be extremely low effort and not fun and the reward of an armor 2.0 set to start Shadowkeep off with wasn't enough motivation to bother. Especially since we all damn well know that armor will have planned obsolescence baked into it and by mid game people will be replacing it. E: My second biggest complaint was that the sparrow reward was recycled from D1, unlike last year where we got unique rewards for the solstice.

I skipped it. Just more of Bungie trying to get me to play what they want me to play instead of what I want to play. What kind of "celebration" is that? Bullshit.
-
41 RespuestasA lesson for all for Shadowkeep: 1. Don't buy the game when it launches 2. Wait until it's free or at a hefty discount with all DLC included. 3. Don't start playing until June/July when the "end of year" celebration events begin, thus making it feel "new" for a longer period of time and giving out rewards for doing the work NOW. 4. GRRRRRRIND Meanwhile I'll be over there *points* playing BL3 for the better part of the next year for my "relaxing" activity.
-
I think Bungie is implementing extended grind just to try and keep the game populated, but its actually driving people away from wanting to play the game.
-
3 RespuestasDidn’t even bother.

261 RespuestasWhat sorts of objectives would you prefer over match completions? Did you enjoy collecting various elemental orbs over strict activity completions? We've moved away from requiring wins in many instances, as that led to players quitting and other negative side effects, but would love to see what you're more interested in.

4 RespuestasI did one set and quit. Would've been nice to only have to upgrade the one peice you want instead of the whole affair. Why didn't I do more? Armor design plain and simple. the armor doesn't play nice with shaders, I think the gilded ornamentation looks gaudy. (You want to nail down the "sexy dress uniform" vibe look no further than the USMC Dress Alphas, they are clean, professional and well designed, not covered in excessive medals and sashes and needlessly flashy gold trim.) And the overall shapes, designs, and proportions of the armor sets is mediocre at best for hunter and warlock and a complete atrocity for the titans. That, combined with armor 2.0 giving more player control of appearance soon, made the grind completely silly to me. Anyone who did this grind because "oh it's the first set of 2.0 gear" is a fool. Bungies already said you can get 2.0 gear from vendors, world drops, etc, so once you're through the shadowkeep campaign (or earlier if you want to infuse like a madman) 2.0 gear will be raining down.
-
One of the biggest issues with it was it was essentially just asking you to do the same stuff we've been doing for milestones for nearly two years now. How am I supposed to get excited by the prospect of running 10 strikes when we haven't had any new ones in over a year? It focused on the activities that haven't been touched during the season pass (except gambit) and the AEZ was just another kill bosses in time activity we've seem plenty of already. Bungie need to start making quests etc interesting instead of being something you do just for the reward. The current system just promotes people going afk etc due to the sheer amount of tedium involved.

It wasn’t a mess. Only issue I had was (if I remember right) one of the warlock pieces that made you believe you could only complete that piece in PvP. Turned out it was a mistake and it worked on PVE as well. I think it was a nice change and required some planning of activities so you could work on multiple pieces at once. The only “obnoxious” part was the 10 gambit matches as I don’t play-like gambit in its current state but that’s a personal opinion. I think they did a great job to get you to play several activities to remind people what Destiny has to offer.
-
I did two sets and master worked my Warlocks entire set. I didn’t have the time to get the 3rd set done but it wasn’t that bad of a grind. It was continual but easy.
-
I couldn’t even be bothered to do any after one helmet lol. “Woooow it’ll glow tho!” yeah in an ugly flamingo fashion 😆 no thanks not in exchange for days of my life in wasted time.

2 RespuestasTook me about a week of 3days a week after work to get one set one done.. two characters took about two weeks and that was two weeks of doing things I didn’t want to do.. slugging through 25 patrol missions on a set planet using elemental weapons I didn’t want to use (not fun) & 50 damn bounties for each character. 200 Void grenade kills on a hunter was crap... overall was weeks of playing destiny not doing what I like to do. It was like a chore. I was no way doing the third character I couldn’t bring myself to do it... shame it wasn’t fun...
-
4 RespuestasI did my 3 sets with like 2 weeks to spare. The grind itself wasn't hard it was just plain boring and tedious to the point I fell asleep doing my patrols for my Titan, and I was one of the ones taking my time about it. At this point I'm burnt out on Destiny and have decided to not play till Shadowkeep

3 RespuestasFound the grind to be daunting 100 mini boss kills EAZ (Nerf to 50 later) in the beginning with the Hunter. Then turn around and had to live in the Crucible to obtain 200 ARC super kills for the Warlock. I then decided to forgo the Titan grind because Season of Solstice was taking away from other tasks that I wanted to complete; one benefit was that Crucible made me react quicker than P v. E could have taught. The down turn is that I have hit a wall after that Major grind. Almost feel like going back into the Crucible because the sweat factor is better. Would like to see better maps or more map rotation in the Crucible if that helps.
-
1 RespuestaIt was only worth the grind and boredom because of armor 2.0. Had they not decided to do that, which I think was last minute, no one would have done this event.
-
I would have to agree. I only did one character and then gave up. Felt more like a chore than an achievement/celebration.
-
Awww diddums

A month. You people had a MONTH. The people who burned themselves out in the first few days, that's their own fault.
-
Here here. See my 3:46 am post if you’re interested

Yeah it didnt really look that good. Didnt bother like last time and if it was a celebration why couldnt we celebrate what we like as in being able to just do pve to get the armor? that wouldve been a better celebration to me but its just tradition at this point to always shove pvp into everything.

14 RespuestasWell quit your complaining woman. Get your butt back into the kitchen and make us men all sandwiches get us beers too. Then after your done with all your womanly duties from 9 to 5. You can play destiny and complete your solstice grind.
-
Bahahaha. I agree with you 10000%. I’m bored as f. You can only kill so much cabal 🤣
-
2 RespuestasLast year I did 3 toons all majestic and MW'd, even the prestige leviathan for chest piece. This year didn't even complete 1 green item. Really bad grind that just was not worth it in the end. A sparrow from D1,really that's a reward, and 2.0 armour when SK drops, but all new armour acquired will be 2.0 after SK drops. If you want players completing these ridiculous tasks make it worthwhile
