Not judging your choice but xcuse me?
They've only shared the Eververse and customization in an explicit effort to not spoil the upcoming story. X'D
The only thing they've gone over in the Director's Cuts are explicit sandbox changes (see: making us more powerful and making those power shifts meaningful) and changes to how we customize our Guardian in the future.
If you expected story info from these, you should've looked into leaks instead.

I have and I’m sure the story will be good. I may be an outlier here, but I’ve enjoyed the story so far (not a lore nerd by any means). Reading between the lines, they failed on the season pass and killed the crew doing it. Which means they are going to cut down content, which they have already started with the swapping out of events here and there. Aside from Forsaken, the content wasn’t stellar by any stretch. It was ok. Menagerie was good. Crucible. Sucks. I used to play it alot. Now. Never. I’m just going to wait and see. Currently I’m not enthused. Every time we finally move forward, Bungie moves back. I’m betting armor 2.0 is just another way of weaning us from our old armor to yet another Bungie experiment. I don’t know. We’ll see.
