In most recent updates new gear and weapons have been added into that game, which is a good thing, however the way they are added and how they want you to acquire them is questionable. Quest-lines are monotonous, boring, and unnecessary. is little to no challenge present within them and this is where the main problem arises. Quests expect you to indulge them with many hours of unnecessary playtime that has remained consistent since year 1. Its my hope and wish that this type of quest gets looked at and reworked because as of right now players are growing ever more frustrated.
To get new gear in destiny a new quest or activity is released that allows you to do what it dictates and get said gear, but with the past few updates quests seem to be slowing down and mainly just filler. Making it clear i'm not complaining there's not enough time in the day to complete these or casual players have no place in the game, i'm just poking at the redundant way quests are being structured. Looking and the most recent being solstice it offers little content other than armor and a new area, this lack of content is hidden behind massive waves of mediocrity. Justifiably the EAZ is a solid area and really fun to play, but they quickly ruin it by making players who want the gear to delve into its repetitive nature for hours which kills its novelty almost on release. Those who want the armor it requires you to play gamemodes and complete tasks that players have been playing and completing since they released. This constant repetition and forcing players into old content disguised as new content kills the game making it job like.
On top of quests being boring and frustrating, the quests have no challenge whatsoever. The quest for solstice armor is not even challenging just monotonous and redundant. When bungie described their game as no longer being for average players what me and many thought was the games difficulty was going to spike and getting gear would be harder and more rewarding, much like whisper and outbreak. Instead from whats been seen so far there is no difficulty and only hours of repetition and "go here" "collect that" this type of quest is what makes the game so unfun. Its bluntly obvious time filler quests conveniently right before shadowkeep releases. Overall i hope this type of quest doesnt carry over to future destiny due to how destructive these types of quests are.
EDIT: rewrote due to missunderstanding

After last year I wasn’t gonna touch this solstice
-
I just go for only certain stuff rather than all at once. I have no interest of doing this year's solstice, but I appreciate there's something to do for certain players.

I mean, I work full time and seem to be doing fine. I might not be completely up to date but I’m doing well enough. A huge part of the game is the grind to get items. Once you get everything it gets boring so I’m thankful I still have weapons and armour I can grind for if I do wish. Haven’t got Izanagi’s burden but I know that when I get bored of PvP etc. I have a quest that I can do. Haven’t got great rolls on the armour I like to usually wear so I still find enjoyment in raids. Y’know what I mean? You can’t 100% rely on the gameplay to be the gameplay, if that makes sense. Make your own fun. Just my take on it. 🤙🏼✌🏼

The low effort grind quests? Lazy developer. At least in d1 we got some cool stories and lore. Now ots grinding for cosmetic crap..do what I do. Don't do it. Play some pvp on occasion and send people hate mail just to lol. Even better if you can get in their chat and terrorize them

These people are actually casual plebs, disgusts me, you guys probably spend more time on these forums complaining than on your actual ‘jobs’ and ‘wifes’ you claim to have 🤮

7 RespuestasWhile I have a job, 2 kids and life. I'm only able to do this on 1 character. It's not half bad, but I get you, and the fact that the sparrow is tied to having all 3 characters with the solstice armor I think that's a big BS. It should of been tied to just fully getting 1 armor and masterworking it. Rather than having it be tied to getting all 3 characters armor. I dont mind abit of grind like the bad juju, what I did is every day that I've done the bounty and got the discount I bought only 1 or 2 stuff and waited till the next day. Never emptied my resources nor did I rush. But this event, its suppose to be fun, obtainable and within reach of every player. Bungie loves overdoing things, I dont know why, maybe to show ppl are still playing, or make it seem players always logged on. But even on D1 while LL wise and armor I've always managed to get for all 3 characters bu just doing end game stuff, I only ever did every single thing on just ONE character. I just honestly dont have the time. Even if I wanted it to, I wouldn't be able to finish anything if I worked on all 3. Which is why, 1 character only gets the love and attention from me, the other 2 gotta get shafted.

2 RespuestasThis is a grindy game, if one can't invest time into a grindy game, it probably ain't for you Chief.

6 RespuestasI mean you can get to 750 in like a day or 2 even working 40 a week. From 750 you can do whatever you want, I don’t think a single thing is time locked besides solstice so u should just do that for now. That’s what I’m doin and it keeps me busy when I get home from work in a good way so whatevs

Editado por kickmeh: 8/1/2019 9:26:24 PMthis game isnt for you then because come shadowkeep bungie already has said its gonna get more hardcore. For solstice i am only doing one character for the majestic set masterworked and thats it. Choose your time wisely i say and have fun most importantly. It doesnt have to be a job if u dont allow it to be, change ur mindset and remember this is only a video game not a real life achievement award competively.

They dont, they want you to keep paying for their game while not putting stress on their already delicate servers.
-
Editado por whiteLI0N: 8/1/2019 9:12:03 PMThey dont. I loved doing raids and nightfalls, and the dungeon was fun. This "season pass" borefest of nonstop grinding unfun activities was not what I wanted. I got waste deep in black armory and then climbed back out. Havent touched it since.

thats why we have bad pvp

1 RespuestaI hear that! I can’t play near as much anymore because of my 1yr old and 2nd baby on the way next February. Question that partially relates to this, So I switched from Xbox to PS4 cause of people to play with so I’m playing catch up. Do you or anyone seeing this think it’s worth the 300 silver to bump my 2 other characters power up with Shadowkeep around the corner? If I’m confusing anyone, when buying the Forsaken Collection copy there is an icon next to each character on the main screen before selecting a character to advance them, the first character you pick is free but the other 2 “bumps” for each character cost sum 300 silver. Thanks.

I have complained about this forever, I work 12-13 days and only randomly get time to play so half of the stuff I don’t get and it’s not fair because I paid for the game like everyone else but do t get the same experience and jobless people or you tubers or no lifers

2 RespuestasMaybe the need to actually open up the world. True RPG like they’ve always claimed they’d do. Hmmmmmm

I just run one character. I managed to get all my Iron Banner gear in the first event this season (not an overall pleasant experience but got it done) but there's no way in hell I'm doing the solstice armour grind. Glowing ornaments would be a hindrance for me as a PvP main, the armour itself doesn't appeal to me aestheically speaking and I have 5,000 crucible tokens to spend on Armour 2.0 when Shaxx FINALLY AT LONG F---ING LAST gets a vendor refresh. So far in season of Opulence I have enjoyed the Menagerie, but I got everything I wanted and now I have no need for it and I think that having one chest drop after experiencing 3 is an anti climax after the boss fight. I have no friends on xbox live (no mates lol) so I log in once a day, play a game of Rumble and then log out. I narrow it down to the fact that I do not enjoy putting on green armour and running activities that I became bored with (strikes playlist, flash points, daily missions) quite some time ago. Bungie please just dump some detailed information on why I should buy Shadowkeep.

7 RespuestasYou remember what destiny 2 vanilla looked and played like? That was Bungie catering to casuals and people who don’t have time to play. Do we really want to go back to that?

Editado por LastExile2: 8/1/2019 8:42:27 PMYou have until September 17th to finish tribute hall and solstice. I was able to get tribute hall done in 2 weeks with a job granting me the emote. I got the solstice gear done on my hunter (minus masterworking 4 pieces) in about 18 hours. Doing solstice 2 hours a day will give you all 3 armor sets. The only thing that takes a long time is the EAZ miniboss kills since you have to get a hit on them yourself, the rest is shared by your fireteam. For the record, I work 44 hours a week plus overtime if I'm asked.
-
just try to finish the armor for one character, that's what I'm going to try to accomplish. that's what I did last year, just focused on my hunter, but this year I'm doing my warlock. I have wife, kids, and jobby job too, you just have to cut a few things out.

25 patrols on io!!!!!!!!!!!

2 RespuestasYou have a job. Just pay someone to recover your account. No stress no mess

6 RespuestasThis is to combat the "people racing through the content" complaints made early on in D2. There was a contingent, perhaps a raft, of people complaining that they had nothing left to do; this largely because they didn't like the weapons and gear systems and missed the grind for perfect specs. Instead of returning to a system that largely worked in D1, they came up with all manner of new systems to extend the grind so people couldn't race through the content. So here we are with massive piles of mats required for tributes, and a narrow band of glimmer available at any one time, and limited masterwork, er, infusion core availability (albeit somewhat less limited, now), and lots of steps involving running hither and yon (and back again) to talk to people and gather materials and bop things on the head and shoot things and look at things and jump and run and crouch and walk and duck and shoot and wear and gather, not in and of themselves peculiar or misplaced in a game like Destiny but maddeningly similar to each other in length, tone, and I daresay tedium. There are quest lines that stand apart from the droll and destitute, but we're faced with such daily, weekly, and seasonal under-invention, one can hardly be blamed for apathy, where even "if you just play the game, you'll get the armour set", becomes a chore rather than something we look forward to. I want a richer universe with a wider variety of experience. Bungie has been narrowing that bandwidth with the reduction of gameplay to "kill x-many to get this". No Trials. No factions. Narrow choice of armour and weapons which almost always results in a singular successful loadout without regard to play style. A sudden desire to turn everything into horde-mode (horde-mode is great, but like cranberry sauce, we don't want to be eating it with every meal well into March). I guess it's in some ways easier to do all of these things than to create complex and inviting story lines, places we love to explore and experience and find inviting enough to come back to even when we don't have to kill x-many things to turn in 250 baubles of slickersnot. Keep seeding those places with new things to discover, new encounters to play, new puzzles to solve (that we can solve without having to ferret through the Internet), new characters and creatures. In short, make this game replayable without having to repeat everything. But then, I suppose this is the grail of gaming. I'll keep playing if Bungie keep striving for it. I'll stop (and have stopped in the past) when it appears Bungie have reached the end of their creativity.

By having it be extended by 3 weeks.

Going off your edit: No, people didnt miss the point, You said 1 thing, people responded off what you said, but somehow you expected people to know you meant something completely different. It seems you missed your point, which is completely different in the edit than what was originally posted. Basically your post is a 'i'm not having fun, think the game isnt fun anymore' post, and has nothing to do with actually keeping up in the game if you have job. In that case, if you not having fun, play something else. Gaming is about having fun. When you stop having fun playing 1 game, stop and play something else.

I have a job and hobbies outside of that job and it's never stopped me.

Hardcore in D2 means huge grind. Something I like to hear:
Deal with it!
