TLDR: Cores for infusion are still a thing, skill trees and guns are still mostly bland, and not one thing has been mentioned about addressing those.
Now to elaborate, with my last rant before signing off, possibly permanently if no changes to these issues are detailed -
It’s been months since I’ve been on the forums. Gave the game a good rest too. But I came back. And what’s new?
So... The best farm in the game is not to play... Just suck up electricity by going AFK in a forge (likely not patched yet cause it makes player time investment numbers look great). And/or still chase space rocks, I just spent an hour running back n forth from Spider to Mercury as opposed to farming gear in Menagerie or a raid. (Which I’d also need the stupid space rocks to level up if I finally get rolls I like).
I don’t care if cores are now “more easily obtainable” through quests or they fall from the sky, it’s stilly a shïtty system. And you have to play with stuff or do activities you may not even like to play to get those cores and mod components. Not fun.
In order to upgrade the Triumph hall (which I’ve done and have Bad Juju catalyst) unless you play/played every activity 24/7 for months prior to it, is to use forge exploit (or the other player switch one which, while I didn’t use but completely get why it was used, they’re retconning anyway) if you want that done in any reasonable amount of time.
New content is said to be coming out with Armor 2.0 and more customization... Which makes farming for gear now utterly pointless. And just like last time when revelry gear, which actually did look cool for 2 weeks before being made useless, you’re likely use for a week into new content cause that’s how Bungie works, so no point in grinding that.
(I will admit, I’m curious about the armor but having been burned before, I’m also hesitant about as needing cores for all that shït would/will likely suck and it’ll probably be useless in a week)
Plus, nothing has been said about weapon customization or skill trees being updated and/or expanded on or customizable.
Improve the armor all you want but if the base abilities are still boring, or if Bungie is going to nerf everything that makes them not boring (Dire Skull, Orpheus Rigs, Black Spindle, Skill trees in general from D1 to D2, Galnor, etc...) it’s not the best foundation to build on.
Especially disappointing if something you REALLY liked (Black Spindle for example) and spent time/effort trying to get and then money getting an ornament for does get noticed as being actually useful then gets nerfed to uselessness. Wasted time AND money there.
I just turned off the game. I can’t do it anymore. It’s not fun. To make the end game fun (briefly anyway until the next thing hits and you have to go back to farming the same old shït we’ve been playing for years to play new shït to where we’re not holding a team back) you have to level up... Using the same farming/exploits and by doing the same old shït.
Nothing I’ve seen in Shadowkeep yet shows otherwise. In other games (Borderlands, ESO, Rage, Wolfenstein, Doom, FarCry, BioShock, Etc...) leveling and powering up is a natural part of the base gaming story/experience. Even with ESO being a MMORPG materials are easily gathered on the way to objectives. Or drop from objectives. Destiny is abysmal in that department as you have to literally spend days or do exploits to farm materials.
So to summarize, I can only conclude that Destiny’s endgame is STILL farming materials, chasing space rocks, and chasing a power number so you can play new content that changes every “season” beginning the SOS cycle anew every time.
Shadowkeep looks cool. I’d love to preorder it, first expansion that I haven’t... But I just can’t keep doing more of the Same OLD Shït just to enjoy new content. And, despite them saying you can jump straight into any activity (sure, my wife hasn’t played in forever because of the shïtty leveling system but yeah, make her play catch up for a month or let’s just let her jump into menagerie right now at 400 Light Level and see how she does), I’ve seen nothing indicating it’ll be any different than the last few updates.
Sorry, wanna love this game (obviously because I care enough to even comment), but nope. If that’s your bag, more power to you. I can’t do it anymore.
Good luck all.
Edit: I have over two THOUSAND four HUNDRED hours in this game. For those that can’t read, I have NO shortage of materials. No argument here yet has disapproved how lame it is. Just that some peeps are easily amused by running in circles after space rocks.
Kudos to you peeps. That’s your thing, not stopping ya. Have at it.
I don’t care for it. I want to play the game. If the game was named “Destiny 2: The Chase For Space Rocks in Different Environments!” at least there’d be truth in the advertising and peeps could make a fully educated choice on what they’re buying.
I don’t care for the system. So I’m not gonna pay into it. End of story. 👻
Ps. Peeps saying “See you in September.” my ass... BL3, Rage 2, ESO Elswyre, Wolfenstein, Doom after that... Oh I think I’ll have plenty to do other than chase fückin rocks. 😏
Got burned pre buying the season pass last time. Not happening this time. I’ll wait until “Destiny 2, The Quest for More Rocks” goes on sale. Bye kids. 😘😂

1 RespuestaCores are one part of a mountain of problems of why I won't and haven't bought Shadowkeep. Yes they're easier to get, but does that mean they should still be in infusion? No. They should be put to better end game use since they are an end game item. Examples of better uses would be using them to reroll masterworks or going with their name and a large investment allows you to enhance a perk. I won't list all the other issues I have with things at the moment cause it doesn't fit your topic but don't worry if you have given up on this once great series like I have you realise there are much better games out there worth your time.

4 RespuestasWatch out man, the bungie fanboys are gonna crucify you for this one

2 RespuestasI mean... if you get 35 hours four of the dlc, that’s a dollar per hour of gameplay, so I’ll cheaper than an arcade 😉
-
I’ll probably buy it on sale or something

5 RespuestasEditado por puppyk1sses: 7/29/2019 8:36:01 PMDo your gunsmith bounties. I now have over 350 cores for just playing the game. How ppl aren’t swimming in these, I don’t understand.
-
5 RespuestasCores are easy as hell to get. You can get 10 a day by playing an hour and spending a bit of glimmer and a few shards. Do the three weapon bounties from banshee-44 every day on each character and buy one core from spider.

9 Respuestas"Bye kids" and uses emojis like a kid. Sweet irony, isn't it?
Friendly reminder: Forums aren't WhatsApp.
4 RespuestasI’ve never understood why people -blam!- about cores lol.

1 RespuestaMeh just don't hardcore farm mats like I do and play the game instead.
-
5 RespuestasYou're kind of noob considering all your play time, later man. Enjoy spending "another job's" worth of time on other games 👍

6 RespuestasTL;DR: His mom won't buy it for him.

3 RespuestasHoly wall of text guaranteed no one reads all of this before getting bored and typing bye in the comments. Bye bye one player doesn’t hurt the machine.
-
1 RespuestaNever watched the Viddoc cuz you don’t know what’s in there just to flair interest and what’ll be actual content come September. Bullshit transparency, just to sell
-
9 RespuestasMkay. Bye. A kid who thinks who has “im right youre wrong” mentality we don’t need. And if you mute me you only prove my point even more. The funniest part about this is you will stay on Bungie forums to find any reason to shit on Bungie.
-
I dont pre order anything bungie makes now.
-
9 RespuestasCool, thanks for this essay. We'll see you in September!
-
3 RespuestasYou ever heard of power surge bounties? ... Fckn noob
-
1 RespuestaAt 1100 cores, will be well over 1500 by sep 17th. No cheesing either, you don’t have to infuse or master work ever single item.

2 RespuestasI'm right there with you my dude. Look up my play time. I sank an embarrassing amount of time into D1 and 2. I stopped for the EXACT same reason. I tried logging back in for the opulence events but immediately felt sick to my stomach playing. All I can remember is how much fun I had with D1 and how creative the original team was with that game and how they cared enough about the players to keep it fresh and new with real expansions. And it felt balanced! Sure, it was grindy but not even close to how the current team is running this game. This game has turned into repeat fetch quests, with timers, and cores. The vendors are largely ignored with updates, the farm is useless, factions have been AWOL for what seems like forever. It's the laziest I've ever seen the devs with this series. I am also not buying Shadowkeep. I recently deleted the game for the second and final time. Good luck to those that stick it out with Bungie. "A fool and his money are soon parted." I'm giving my money to devs that actually respect a players time (like Gearbox) and listen to what the players want. 😙✌️

1 RespuestaYour just mad. I get it. I’ve been getting pooped on in IB. I’m just doing the quests... or maybe they’re doing me... in the butt
