Another Pennsylvania school has chosen to take "God bless America" out of their Pledge of allegiance, due to pressure from the ACLU. This obviously makes sense. Shouldn't force the idea of fairytale being real in the minds of young kids. That kind of early indoctrination could rob them of their abilities to think critically and being objective later in life. One by one, we are kicking this nonsense out of our public schools. This is another win 😎

1 RespuestaNot gonna lie while I was a teacher in Texas for Highschool I heard so many versions of the pledge. One that stick out is “I pledge allegiance to the totem of the United States of south Canada and to the Oligarchy on which it stands one nation under Lenny indivisible with lube and juice for my Johnson.”
-
1 RespuestaGreat. Now maybe we can get rid of the rest of the pledge. Having kids chant to show their love for America every morning is creepy and almost fascist.
-
3 RespuestasI get that the OP is infantile and antagonistic, but do the theists in this forum honestly not accept or appreciate the separation of church and state?
-
1 RespuestaI chuckle internally everytime I hear someone say Under God Has Been In The Pledge Since The Beginning.

4 RespuestasThe true fairytale. They teach how free the people in the USA are. Or that in America all people have equal rights.

2 RespuestasGod Bless America isn't even in the pledge you walnut

9 RespuestasOriginal 1892 pledge:
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
The original pledge (up until 1954) made no mention of god anywhere. Current pledge (changed in 1954):
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
America was created under the ideals of freedom. That means freedom to worship or NOT worship whatever god you like. Public schools - being funded by the government - fall under the constitution. The government should not have the power to favor religion over non-belief. The U.S operates under the principle of separation of church and state. I don’t want the government telling me I have to believe. The freedom to believe or not believe are one of the fundamentals of any free society.
Shouldn't force the idea of fairytale being real in the minds of young kids.
How is it forced? How is it a fairy tale?
That kind of early indoctrination could rob them of their abilities to think critically and being objective later in life.
All education is indoctrination. On the contrary, atheists tend to be weaker thinkers and less objective.
One by one, we are kicking this nonsense out of our public schools.
No, you are just inviting more into it.
This is another win 😎
Oh, it isn’t really. But I’ll enjoy seeing how you turn out. 🐲🍿

It isn’t nonsense. It’s religion and while it might be a bit outdated with the whole “God’s dead” and atheists these days I think if you don’t want it don’t say it.

14 Respuestas"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." So, I'm confused, where exactly does it say, "God bless America"?

I'm religious and never once said this phrase in school.... so meh

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Original pledge cough

That kind of faith is a conversation stopper, which means it doesn’t have a place in at least certain educational situations.

6 Respuestas
Another Pennsylvania school has chosen to take "God bless America" out of their Pledge of allegiance, due to pressure from the ACLU.
I think you mean, "One nation, Under God"? Fair enough
This obviously makes sense. Shouldn't force the idea of fairytale being real in the minds of young kids.
Religious beliefs aside, do you think a kid is going to say "Oh my gosh! God is real!" after 2 words in the Pledge of Allegiance? Believe me, when we say the pledge, we just murmur along and don't give it a second thought.
That kind of early indoctrination could rob them of their abilities to think critically and being objective later in life.
You mean like Gregor Mendel, who is considered one of the founding fathers in MODERN BIOLOGY? But no, he couldn't have had been Christian, he was such an influential person in modern science! Oh wait, he was a Monk...
One by one, we are kicking this nonsense out of our public schools. This is another win 😎
Whether you are religious or not, it is literally impossible to simply have religion not exist. It is so embedded into our society and culture as human beings, not just Christianity but pretty much every religion, that getting rid of it would require a mass extermination of people and only leaving those who don't believe behind... And since that isn't an option, we are staying for a while at least. So get over it.

It's really weird how hyped you are over something that should've happened decades ago.

EVLUSHUN IS FAKE! THE B0NEZ ARE A TEST brOThERRRR!
-
That’s fine, but if a child still says “under god” will they be allowed to? Religious freedom goes both ways.

Knock on wood.

11 RespuestasIf you believe in some higher entity, sure practice that in your own time & don’t force it onto others. Religion has no place in education. Period.
