I believe the point is to try and get Bungie to take their game more seriously. Maybe not the best way but overall I think the point is less “I hate destiny” but “I hate that I don’t get enjoyment anymore out of Destiny”.
I feel the sentiment, it’s a whole lot less about someone wanting attention from people on here but instead attention from Bungie to set the cogs of creativity into motion.
I personally have enjoyed this season but I still think Bungie is altogether a lot less trustworthy than I originally thought. The Prime Engram issue that took 2 weeks to solve? If that isn’t Bungie’s way of slowing down progress than I don’t know what is. It was done so on purpose so that people wouldn’t blow through their new expansion with all characters at lvl 700 in two weeks.
I’m invested in Destiny and now it’s one of those things that I can’t simply put down because then all the time I’ve spent feels even all that more wasted and meaningless but when I play anymore all I think about is how close I am to being done so I can go play better games and I’m sure I’m not alone.
These posts are a way of venting frustration at a company that says they care and then pulls of the backwards actions that say the opposite. It’s getting tiresome and as high as my hopes were for content after the activision split I don’t know if I’m gonna have the patience to find out what that content looks like.

It is definitely meant as a way to vent frustration, but it's also attention seeking. There are far more productive ways, and places to reach out to Bungie. 'I'm Leaving' posts are one of the worst possible ways to attempt to get notice, only just above posting 'I irrationally hate Bungie (for this or that reason) troll posts'. They very rarely check posts on bungie.net either, as this toxic cesspool is something they gave up on years ago. Reaching out to them on a place that has real moderation (not the joke they call moderation here), like the Destiny reddit thread, or replying to the various employees that occasionally tweet are far better options (but still aren't likely to get any real results). The simple fact is, the absolute best way to make your point to a business is simple. Money and time. Don't purchase something if you don't think it's worth it, and don't waste your time on it if it doesn't respect your time. Why would you unless you have low self worth? There are countless other options and we live in a golden age of a plethora of great games to choose from.
Anyone, and I do mean anyone who is dumb enough to think Bungie reads any 'I'm leaving' post (especially on bungie.net) is clearly delusional and/or suffers from low IQ. That's just a fact.
