Can you guys finally discuss the riven cheese
Why has this not been addressed yet, you can’t find anyone on lfg who wants to run it the right way. Now all the haters out there let me explain before you jump all over me, we usually always have enough people to run the raid so we don’t need lfg all that much, but we might have a time here and there where we need someone and turn to lfg, it just gets annoying trying to do the riven fight and literally no one knows how to run it legit, it’s a final boss, it should be somewhat of a challenge right? But everyone just wants to cheese it. All I’m saying is at least let us know your still looking at it. And on that point, no Bungie has not come out and said it’s not a cheese, from all my research the only thing they said in a gamespot article they were looking into it and seeing the communities response to that fight. I just want to get people on my team that know how to do it the right way, all my clears are legit and I pride myself on not ever cheesing anything.

Ill never understand why people complain about this. If for some mysterious reason doing things a certain way in a videogame is your source of pride then thats fine . Instead of joining groups make your own and after you can jerk each other off and praise each other on doing it 'the right way'

The challenge of the encounter is like anything in D2. Once you do it a dozen times it gets a little stale. Making it faster via cheese is the natural result.

4 RespuestasI salute you for making it the intended way! I know that isn't easy with the eyes and all the things that can go wrong. But wanting to remove a shortcut, only because you prefer to do it the long way... how shal i put it... is kind of arogant, elitist and selfish. I say shortcut, because it's not a cheese, its a strategy to 1 fase him with a full team. Same as all the other raids where you have a full 6 man team to DPS the boss. You may not like it, but don't force your narrow view on others.

5 RespuestasIt’s not a cheese. Bypassing Boss phases by stacking DPS has [i]never been a cheese...[/i]you can do it on almost all strike bosses. If you want to waste your time doing complicated mechanics for no extra reward then go right ahead. Stop trying to drag down the community with you.

Not a cheese. Players are using the game mechanics bungie established to kill boss. Not Players fault.

My clan and groups did the fight the intended way up until Black Armory came out. Now it’s mostly just a loot button. The only reason I still run it is because a clan mate is a Ghost Shell away from Rivensbane I don’t really think it’s a problem worth addressing any more. We’re coming up on Last Wish being 6 month old content, and people being able to outdamage Raid encounters is nothing new

Everybody needs to have the right loadout, the right pwr lvl, and the perfect coordination to pull it off. Secondly, don't we as a community ALWAYS find ways to one phase any boss, raid or nightfall? How is this any different? Can't blame people for playing smart and using their time efficiency. Edit: If it was a cheese and not a 1 phase, it wouldn't have worked with the Riven raid challenge. I'm sure if Bungie saw it as a cheese, they would have worked the challenge in a way that FORCES players to do the whole thing...but they didn't. It surprised me too. I was betting on Bungie making the challenge force players to do the mechanics, but since it didn't, thats Bungies way of acknowledging that the 1 phase is a legit strat. PS: Some people know how to do it legit, but just don't have the time to run a full Riven fight. I know after my daughter goes to bed, I only have a few hours of playtime. At this point, its almost 6 months past the release of the raid and people are just trying to get the last few things they need for the title. Give it a rest already.

I think they stated on a stream that cheese was "legit" so probably not going to fix it. Most likely to ensure that a crying trend doesn't start. I prefer legit myself since it's easy but whatever.

They already said they’d look into it and consider a change if they felt it was needed. That was many months ago so we can all conclude this will not be changed, not in its current version anyway. I myself have lots of LW clears and never done the proper way nor found a full fireteam willing to do it’s complete and complex mechanics. It’s just what it is.

Or sleeper on bosses that have a wall behind them so the sleeper shots ricochet back into the boss? Maybe if the riven fight wasn’t as tedious people wouldn’t want to cheese it as much, ever think of that?

They should definitely make a hard version of this raid and make sure this cheese won’t work in it. Or what they might do in the Fall is bring all the raids to the appropriate light level and tweak that part of the encounter like they did Crotas End in D1

strangely as it sounds, you can create a team in LFG and put NO RIVEN CHEESE, and do it normal way i know, i know.... i know to run it legit, but after so many runs i just want to get it over with, swift and reliable

Even then, one random usually bottles out before even attempting it. Even though they'd only have to do add clear, and shoot one eye up top once, and even that will be covered by the other player they're paired up with. Its a fun fight. Might as well experience it on the rare occasion you have the chance to.

1 RespuestaI'll put my two cents out there. I have looked to do riven properly but there isn't many people that are willing to teach that encounter. So for my little clears I do have are people that will only do the cheese. In the end I dont really care how people play the game cause it really doesn't impact me.

So you have this game no one's playing and your still whining about people out dpsing the encounter? No cheese..just another untested bungie addition that got inserted with no testing. You paid for it and it's usable..sorry that's where the bungie buck stops. They don't fix anything that is considered a quality of life issue
