I am dead serious. No exotic weapon is worth all the bullshit the quest puts you though. A 20 minute time limit to solve a jumping puzzle and fight through 3 rooms of enemies just so you can fight three bosses that you can only pray that you have enough time, ammo, and mental stability to take down?
I'm calling bullshit on you, Bungie! Multi-step quests that require you to have the FPS skills of an pro-gamer and/or the knowledge of all the boring lore this game offers; I can tolerate them. Jumping onto narrow ledges that you can only pray that you can land on, dodging obstacles and sniper fire that set you back to who know where, wasting precious time that can be better spent on the actual battles that are literal Hell to fight through even with a full fireteam? Yeah, like I said before; That's BULLSHIT, Bungie!
I'm willing to bet that at least 90% of D2 players are just as pissed-off as I am by this exercise of insanity you call a quest. If anyone in the programming department have any self-respect left in them when they thought this was a good idea, they should climb up the highest building you can find and jump off from there. The subsequent landing on the pavement should be enough to demonstrate the frustration D2 players experience when they go through this quest for the 100+ time. Screw you, Bungie and screw the MLG idiots that like to flaunt their new sniper rifle before they shelve it for the next one you shit out.

Editado por Alphard: 2/10/2019 4:07:37 AMMy husband and I did it the first weekend it ever came out in Warmind. It was not easy, as it shouldn't be. Its a hard end game activity that takes practice. Not every end game activity is for everyone. We practiced for a whole night before succeeding the next day. And it is DEFINITELY worth the trouble. Since Warmind, Whisper is STILL one of the best weapons in the game and STILL used in raids and dungeons and you name it. Personally, I love quests like this. You accomplish something hard and are guaranteed an award at the end thats worth it. And its FUN. Bungie: Please don't take OPs post seriously. Its one of the best times I've ever had in D2. It was insanely hard at the time, but it made me a MUCH better player.

I thought it was a pretty cool quest, and thats coming from someome who hates Destiny's jumping puzzles.
-
Still one of the best quests added to either D1 or D2. Absolutely love the soundtrack too.

2 RespuestasThis is an example of how not all content is for every player type.

3 RespuestasAddendum 2: I finally got Whisper! Thank you all (even the trolls) for the advice, and a big shout-out to ProtoZer067 for helping me through the quest. I still feel awful about shitposting here, but still thank you.

I mean, loads of players have done it, some very easily. This really isn’t a hard quest. If there’s one thing I can’t stand in this game, it’s players like you that are trash and KNOW THAT THEY ARE TRASH but still try to dumb the game down for other players. I hate selfish people like you. You guys don’t deserve anything.
-
Look bud, you can do it. I literally got to the final bosses today solo just using the Titan bottom tree striker with synthoceps. So you and 2 buddies get your Titans out, watch the solo video on YouTube and pickup each other's orbs. You probably won't have to fire a shot!
-
It was simple. Did it on the first try.

4 RespuestasEditado por Acnologia: 2/7/2019 9:49:41 PMIt’s a struggle at first but after completing it over and over u become very familiar with it. Tips: bring 2 add killing supers, high damage guns, buff/debuff abilities/guns, different element guns on each party member or bring a hard light or borialis. Titan: melting point for bosses, CotJ for near infinite Super Shoulder charge, CotC + Ursas for adds Warlock: wells for buffs, chaos reach + geomag for DPs Hunter: six shot for adds, +nighthawk, tether for adds, arcstrider for adds and DPs Boss Room: make sure to pop 3 of the taken blights Taken Captain: Kill this punk first!! Most annoying due blinding spam Taken Centurion: second or 3rd to kill, due to taken axion bolt and hiding in shield however if short on time rush him !! Taken knight: easiest to kill out of the 3 boss, mostly stationary in the room

I do value my sanity so I won't put myself through the Whisper quest.

Need a tissue?

7 Respuestasi have tried it around 15 times with my old work buddy, we got the jumps down but got annihilated over and over again, we got to last room 3 times but failed, he has since quit destiny again, and i still have no whisper. i never lfg for it due to how we used to have to wait for public event. now the quest is all week do we still have to wait for the event or is the portal there all time?
-
So I’ve recently tried to tackle this solo... fml lol. First couple times it’s like damn this jump puzzle is hard. Now I’m realizing that’s the easiest part. I want this gun bad, so I’m not giving up, but this does test my sanity.

An anger-fueled, sleep-deprived shitpost after running through the quest with a fireteam of randos that have the same problems I have, but a complete shitpost nonetheless. I would like to apologize to the everyone would replied to this, and I will keep trying until I believe I have the jumps mesmerized by heart and the right set-up for my guardian to survive the battles ahead. Once again, I apologize for all the bullshit, and I hope that some of you got a good laugh out of this.

Lmao git gud, i carry people through that strike and i love the jumping puzzles because i know how to jump

5 RespuestasI did it and enjoyed the difficulty. Music is good too.

Editado por PatsterUSAF: 2/7/2019 6:40:54 PMWhile I have it, it certainly wasn’t the most pleasant experience. While farming the chests to upgrade the catalyst, those damn snipers get me every time.
And I absolutely hate that tilted room! Lol.
-
Lol it’s not hard man. It’s also been like 6 months since it came out.

3 RespuestasIt’s extremely fun to do though, way better than the D1 version imo, the weapon is worth it, definitely not one that people just flaunt about it’s probably the most consistently used weapon in any end game activity. If you’re having difficulties just ask for help, I myself have helped around 30 people get it? I’ve done it solo on both pc and ps4, my very first pc run was actually solo since I didn’t have a team to do it with. It isn’t an easy quest but all of us who have it it took multiple tries and that’s fine, every time I take people through I take my time with them and let them get used to the jumping puzzle before we do any actual run, no one expects you or any first timer to be flawless your first few runs. After you get the jumping down it is such a blast to do... and if you need help just DM me, honestly I don’t mind helping, that goes for anyone reading this who’s on PC or PS4.

Lol what a noob

5 RespuestasThe whisper mission is one of my favorite things in Destiny. A true test of skill. We need more of them with the BEST items locked behind them. That's how it should be. Risk vs reward. I'll bet you're doing the short cut without the Oracle chest. You don't even want to know the real way to go... It's twice as long. Try practicing for a bit, you'll get better. I didn't make it to the end the first 3 times I tried it. Now I can run the whole thing the legit way and clear the final room. It's helped my jumping skills indefinitely, many thanks Bungie for helping me increase my skills as a gamer and push my limits!! Totally worth the reward. I seldom use another gun, my whole clan makes fun of me for it.
-
Nope. Whisper quest is super popular and most find it to be one of the better surprises in the game. Just practice the jumping puzzle a bit and you'll be fine.
-
Huh? Other than waiting around for the Blight this was one of the better exotic quests.
-
It's definitely not a mission they had a solo player in mind for. The main hurdle will be the shielded enemies, so coordinate your loadout & subclass with teammates. Captains & Knights will have solar shields, Acolytes will have void, and Centurions will have arc. If you have Polaris Lance, clear the front blights and camp in the back of the boss arena once they are summoned. Proceed to shoot forever.
-
I found it amazing, fun, and pretty cool.
-
You kinda had me until you started talking about jumping off buildings.
