As the title says. Bungie got away with D2 with the PC crowd because its new to us as PC players but they need to realize that no one is going to put up with that year one crap again. Sequels build on existing mechanics and lore, and not a gameplay, skill tree and loot downgrade. Streamlining is for suckers. I'm all for paid expansions but if any Bungie manager is thinking "So in D3 your guardian starts off as..." , I am gone.
edit: what was a rage post after watching D1 videos seems to have struck a nerve. it's not like I don't want them to keep changing things up and its not like i don't want to pay for it. I do. But Ive already paid a fair amount and I don't want to spend more to watch my characters get zeroed again. it comes down to trust and I just don't trust Bungie to not repeat the same mistakes.

I hate it when new are games are new!!!! -blam!-in pisses me off!!!! Next time I buy a new game it damn well better be old. -blam!- the system!!!!

Year 3 D2 will be much better than year 1 D3. I'm looking forward to year 3 D2.

As an Xbox Player, I agree that they should not release a Destiny 3. They should just keep on releasing expansions and DLC packages that add and build upon the game as is. If they want to do a Control version of Gambit in the open world, then why do they not do this via releasing the old locations and continuing the story there where we fight and whatnot like they are already planning for D3. My Opinion: Just let us not have a D3 with our guardians zeroing out. Please Bungie if you are ever reading this... just keep on releasing Expansions! maybe release Destiny 1 base game to be apart of D2 so we can climb up the ranks from the beginning if we so choose. Maybe a D1 expansion for D2 where we get classic D1 weapons that didn't get transferred over to D2.
But Ive already paid a fair amount and I don't want to spend more to watch my characters get zeroed again.
Is there really any difference between your character being zeroed and 99% of your D2Y1 gear becoming useless after Forsaken dropped? The bigger reason to just keep expanding and overhauling D2 is having access to more content instead of abandoning it for D3.

6 RespuestasEditado por Touch: 1/7/2019 6:47:09 PMIf they built upon D1, yes. If they plan to build on D2, I'd prefer a new game entirely. This game isn't good enough to be expanded upon in my opinion. It's been a mess since the beginning and still kind of is. Not like D1 though, this one has it's own issues that I feel are worse than D1.

D3 better be a fresh start in every sense of the phrase. New strike format, new crucible formatting, separation of PvP and PvE balancing, better raids (although we’re doing pretty okay for now), dedicated servers, more fleshed out story/ characters, more solo activities, better progression system, a weapon system that isn’t exploitable, lore that is accessible by everyone at the start of the game, endgame content that rewards players AFTER getting to max light and not rewarding players WITH max light. So much needs to be changed and D3 better be the game we were advertised back in 2013. If D3 isn’t an 11/10 game on release then I’m going to be black listing Bungie. Triple A developers and publishers have gotten away with to much and I’m done supporting greedy antics. I know I’m only one wallet but I also know I’m not the only wallet with this mind set.

Editado por Nemesis: 1/7/2019 8:41:35 PMYea dont think I'll be getting D3 if they even remotely start like that.. build on what you have not scrap it and start all over.. but then again Activision loves sequels... so I expect it to be just what you said..

2 RespuestasIf it is a new game, it better carry all of our crap to the next game. Losing my god rolls from D1 was hard enough. I can't deal with another year of apology.
-
3 RespuestasAfter history repeating itself so much, and Bungie being incapable of making substantial content quickly, D3 will have piss poor presales.... without question. Then after a year when its pretty much free, or a 5th of the price for the base game and dlcs, some may buy it. D2 is better in some ways but its also gone backwards in many ways too and it just isnt as engaging or fun as D1. Youtube,Twitch, player numbers and the huge price reductions show that to be the case
-
Yes, D2 was a HUGE step backwards and still is not right. I agree 100% with you, if D3 is another huge step backwards then luke smith can play it by himself for all i care.
-
Just do, what I did and buy it only in year 2 on sale, by that time they will probably make it playable
-
12 RespuestasActually, they should release D3 as an expansion to the D1 base game.
-
I’m not gonna grind out a new game either. I think they should give you an option to pick like 10 legendary items from both D1 and D2 and let you move forward with them. Keep their power capped so new gear is still relevant but don’t throw away 5-6 years of player commitment. They should respect the long term players.

7 RespuestasReading through these comments. I've come to the realization that this franchise is going nowhere. For 1 Bungo is pretty unreliable, secondly this community has its head so far up its own ass it'll never ask for real improvements to this franchise
-
I'm fine with a reboot, as long as it is mostly/entirely new original content, building on and improving the best features of D1 and D2, as well as adding its own unique character. I really don't want much more of D2. It's still a mess. The few areas where it improves on D1 are far outweighed by those where it does not.
-
3 RespuestasOh damn....a new game comes out, but you're not gonna buy it because you can't keep progress from an old game...dry your eyes n Fkn grow up.
-
Burned once by Destiny and bungie with D2, I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING D3. You can blow smoke up other people’s arses but your lies and false promises stopped going un-questioned following from God awful CoO dlc. I only bought D2 on the back of my love for D1. No real love for D2 even with Forsaken expansion. So D3 can take somebody else’s money when it comes out.
-
Why would you want an "extension" to the current Destiny 2 game? I rather they do something new an innovative without losing the good things that they have brought us. I am a bit tired of doing the same things over and over... its gets boring very quickly.
-
9 RespuestasYeah, right....
See you in D3.
-
A lot can change in two years so it’s a little early for this
-
2 RespuestasThis time around if the character creation screen is the same one it’s always been I’m getting a refund immediately.

in D1 I agree with you, but D2 was and continues to be disappointing. D2 is so much better now, but it is still the D2 base game under a bunch of band aids that the (G.O.A.T.) live team slapped on it. I actually hope D3 is a reset, and they actually address the bullshit that needs fixed: servers, matchmaking... the whole “it takes forever to code even the slightest changes because the damn core game engine is older than dirt, and in the time of dirt it took really a really long time do make any changes or release patches”.... If these things were addressed, then the foundation would be solid for whoever buys the IP when bungies contract to activision on is fulfilled; I think Bungie has lost its passion for this game, and can’t wait to get out from under it. D2 is a mess, the core systems are a mess, the p2p system is a mess..... you can slap lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.
-
If it’s good I’ll pick it up. D2 has the same problem as D1, and that is that both games have so much potential that has gone unused.

Editado por ODSTrooper: 1/7/2019 6:13:53 PMI have been playing since the ps4 alpha / xbox beta, and I very much would not like to see a reset of my character once again after sinking more than 2,000 hours (I got another number via Xbox stats that told me rather 3082 hours if that can be believed correctly instead, but I feel it's best to think mid 2,000 or so) across this series. Destiny 3 should really just be a continuation because i'm not pleased with losing all my gear and then simply later given the chance to earn it again within paid dlcs. I wanted to, and still do want to keep using my weapons whether that be a fatebringer, black hammer, icebreaker, vex mythoclast, thorn, found verdict, and more recent additions such as breakneck, ikelos sg, luna's howl, 1000-voices, etc. I want to see more new additions to this game and again as I have said as a continuation, not a reset. There has to come an end to the habit of changing/cutting content that at times didn't need to be removed or changed, and later after apologies eventually returned to us and touted as 'progress.' D1 was in a great state in year 2-3 during The Taken King and Rise of Iron for example, before D2 changed most of this and returned us to a blank slate. The same can be noted wit the Forsaken DLC doing much the same for D2, and let us now please not have to repeat a similar series of ups and downs all over again with D3. I want to see a D3 that doesn't mean we lose all our gear, let us "become legend" as was once said and not have us again starting with common gear, no light / power level, etc. Now don't get me wrong I don't mind it being a separate title if it has too, but I would very much like to keep my progress of my guardians this time around if possible.
-
4 RespuestasOh, I doubt it. You haven't even seen the teasers yet! And trailers! And teasers to trailers! Another hook and cliffhanger and you and everyone else is going to buy D3 will all expansions + annual pass.
-
If they can make some fundamental skill tree improvements and don’t wipe our guardians progress like they did at the beginning of D2, they can be creative and make progress with everything else. Keep in mind there is a big difference between progress and streamlining which is the trap they fell into last time.
