So for the first time in what feels like a long time, I spent a few days not playing D2. I've put over a thousand hours into this game and it eats up all of my game time, or rather it did. D2 has only had one constant for me; it makes me mad. From the borderline PTW eververse, to the time gated content, to bungie's slowness and, quite frankly, what feels like incompetence in patches and balancing, to some of the worst matchmaking Ive ever seen in a game, all it seems to do is make angry. And just not playing it for a few days made me realize; it's just not worth my time playing. I've hit 650 on two characters, beaten every single raid, got myself broadsword, unlocked all the forges (not including the time gated one), and have gotten most of the exotics I care about. Why bother playing? To test my RNG to get a title? To grind content I've been grinding for over a year, to get the same armor I always get, which is then dismantled like it always is? To go and play one of the single most infuriating PvP modes in modern gaming? To grind for Luna's in a borderline broken playlist? The answer is, it's not. Bungie has just about used up all my goodwill that it garnered throughout the years. I'll get back on for events and the (most likely time gated) Last Word quest. But I think I'm going to spread my time amongst other games until I see some major shifts (which im expecting to never happen). See you guys in Joker's Wild (maybe)
