I just went back and played d1 for an hour.
I just hit 649 on my titan and was sick of black armory's boredom, so I logged into d1, jumped on my 400 hunter and went to play the crota soul crystal story mission. As I was walking through the overworld I saw a random titan and invited him to join my fireteam. He did (we werent using mics) and we went on our way. Afterwards, we went and ran the regicide mission on hard mode. I had more fun playing those two missions with some random guy who I couldn't even talk to, then I have had for the last two weeks playing d2. The game just feels better to play.
Edit: For all the bdf's who just cite nostalgia, I can play both games side by side doing the same activities and still have more fun playing d1.

28 Respuestas[i]Nostalgia[/i] - a sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past. Playing Destiny 1 now, in the present, and enjoying it, is not Nostalgia. Like OP said, nothing is stopping any one of you (except maybe the PC players) from going and playing Destiny 1 again. Give it a try and you'll realise that Destiny 1 is (not [i]was[/i]) just better. Abilities regen at a rate which actually make you feel powerful, enemies are less spammy, and weapons just [i]feel [/i]better (remember enjoying using scout rifles and handcannons?). Do yourself a favour and play Destiny 1 again. It really puts the state of D2 into perspective...

2 RespuestasAs most others have realized.... Bungie made way too many drastic changes with D2. Everything was made cheap and weak. Each DLC for D2 just complicates the fact that they really screwed up. After all, Destiny was originally a game that was stolen from the original creators and chopped into pieces. So, by the time D2 came around - they had no clue what the original creators were aiming for, so they just monetized everything as much as possible.

I played from D1 launch through Rise of Iron, then took a long break and came back last month. I think Forsaken’s a really good expansion and has done some cool things (supers, new areas, raids), but it still doesn’t compare to all the things D1 did for me.

1 RespuestaD1 feels like the sequel to D2. More depth, better movement, more subclass customization, INT STR DIS led to meaningful cool down progression, intrinsic perks on raid armor, graphics have more realistic art style etc etc. No rose tinted glasses when we can play both and directly compare.

I still do not get why destiny 2 started out as a beta when it was launched. If they were gonna do that why not work on what was already good and have that implemented in. destiny 2 should of been as great as destiny when it ended after age of triumph. Not back to a worse spot then destiny at vanilla.

So I just got d1 in January 2018 and played it before playing d2 and think d1 is a much better game. Is nostalgia clouding my vision as well?? [spoiler]but I love both games a lot. But d1 handled and looked better IMO [/spoiler]

1 RespuestaI’m in need of a destiny break rn. My characters are even max, but I’m just so worn out on the grind currently. I’ll play for more raid gear and the Niobe Labs stuff, but I’m probably not gonna get my other characters up to light before the next DLC.

Doesn't it suck to see all that D1 gear and know 90% was left behind, just so people can get reworked D1 stuff in D2 filler content?!?! Yay for D1 grinds that ended for vanilla D2...that is just making us find them again...looking at you Last Word and friends.

I would love some ppl to play d1 with im low level looking to advance I have played the game befor altol but it was on ps3. I decided to buy it for ps4 and I would like help getting the coop stuff done so I can get higher light level then do raids if anyone is interested add me up I have a mic aswell pan is TWO_SGT_SMITTY

1 RespuestaRegardless of what anyone says, D1 crucible was alot better than d2. During dry spells i would still log on every day just to play some pvp. Know why? Because you could choose what you wanted to play. Skirmish, elimination, 6v6, mayham, etc.... when id get bored with one thing there was always something else to do. Only thing that gets me is that supers are somewhat better in d2, and i like the new abilities d2 has. Its just sad how many things there are to do in D2 yet alot of people cant find the urge to play anymore.

2 RespuestasI regretfully deleted D1 to make room for D2. I wouldn't call myself a "fanboi" or a "H8tr" but one thing I do know is I enjoyed D1 way more than D2. That's just my perspective though. I'm sure others will have differing opinions.

Also, comparing D1 yr 4 to D2 yr2 is unfair as D1 has much more content after 5 years. Let's not forget that D1 didn't get to it's current state until TTK. I was there in D1 during the boring days of Loot Cave when that was the optimal way of grinding gear. No strike specific loot or any of the quality of life changes D1 added over years. When Prison of Elders was launched players called it boring and useless just like the Forges but now people think it's the greatest if you look at the forums here now. Just go back and look at D1 forums at that time of TDB & HoW and see how much people were shitting on those content drops I understand D2 took some insane steps backward when it came to content instead of building off of D1 after all the major content drops, but D1 has major warts till this day. Having to go to orbit to launch into different activities & long ass load times just to name two Anyway, enjoy D1 as it's a great game but shitting on D2 just because D1 had years to grow into it content is very unfair
