they really aren't that hard outside of a first run when your under leveled once your on level its a cake walk

The subject of this thread isn't basic fighting skills ability or power level. It's about the convoluted game mechanics. Power level doesn't effect a player's ability to understand them or be able to execute them.
-
The raid mechanics aren't that hard its basically do a thing to be able to shoot a thing in most encounters. The hardest thing about a raid is having 5 other people do their job consistently I have ran plenty of raids with people that have never done them its not a problem
-
That's your personal opinion and that's fine. I've been playing since day one D1 and I've seen a progression towards more convoluted mechanics. Most people don't find them very interesting, just tedious. There has been a fall off of people interested in playing the raids. A lot of them admit they're only doing it for the gear or a chance at the raid exclusive exotic.
-
Raids also used to be required to hit max level on top of raid weapons being pinnacle weapons fatebringer, vex, black hammer nobody runs raids to get ghost primus. Midnight coup and 1k voices are really the only weapons worth anything. The armor is trash to boot the perks are literally nothing you can't have on regular gear
-
With fewer people even wanting to do the raids, they kind of have to have other ways to raise power level. A full set of raid armor just shows that you've been raiding.
-
It does but it used to be useful more heavy when killing fallen orbs of precision kills on vex more people wanted to raid in d1 because you almost had to to be able to get the best things theres really no reason for max power unless you raid anyway even then other than the new raid nothing in the game requires a max power to make it worthwhile. More interesting loot from the raids would encourage more people to give it a go raid participation has always been super low if we are being honest about it I would say less than 20% of players even bother with it to begin with including d1 when people remember great raid runs they remember the loot at least I do I remember getting my 1st fatebringer grinding 35 hardmodes for my vex

Vault of Glass was a much better raid than any of the D2 raids. I have clan mates who have lost interest in raiding in D2. It's not just because of the gear. They're not having fun. D2 raids have really gone downhill. The mechanics have been described as silly, tedious and annoying. No complaints about the art design. Bungie always delivers there. The overall experience in D2 raids is sub-par.
-
I can't argue about VoG great raid great weapons and armor and on level a nice challenge. I personally like Last Wish but the gear is so forgettable but hey everyone has a preference
-
What was the subject of Op? The mechanics. Not the weapons, armor, raid exclusive exotics or light level advancement. People don't enjoy D2 raids. People who enjoyed raiding in D1 chose not to raid in D2. Not because they don't have to raid to get higher light levels but because they don't like them. The way raids feel right now, if Bungie implemented a highest light level achieved only in raids you'd see more players dropping out. Some people enjoy the new raid mechanics. They are in the minority. Most react exactly like the OP. They watch the video, see what the goofy mechanics are and are turned off by them. Making the loot more powerful is not the solution to getting people to play bad raids.
-
I don't raid because the loot is trash I disagree with the raids not being fun outside of leviathan i think that raid sucks. Like you said everyone has an opinion I think the mechanics are fine thats not the reason I don't raid as often
-
Fine. Most players don't like the raid mechanics in D2. Glad you're having fun but here's the thing- since the majority of players dislike the convoluted raid mechanics, more people will lose interest and likely stop playing D2 altogether. Then we'll see longer waits for matchmaking. Fewer people will buy future dlc. It will be bad for this franchise.
