  • Think of it like this, the quicker you burn through everything the quicker you will become bored. I watched a streamer preparing for worlds first on Thursday, the guy looked so bored pushing to get to 643, he’s was having zero fun and for what? To have is ego stroked for a few hours before everyone forgot his achievement. That’s not how I like to spend my game time, gaming is supposed to be fun imo.

      • Agreed, its a total -blam!-ing joke.In D1 i did the raids every launch day now its too lofty of a power level to attempt. oh the raids out in 3 days after launch hope you guardians leveled up 50 levels with our limited amount of increase drops and rng that can keep giving you the same slot item. ffs. And what really pisses me off is this dick head streamers apparently figured out if they held onto their iron banner bounties and dreaming city bounties they rolled up to higher than 600 after the dlc launched tuesday so they are up in the 630s and 640s so the raid wont be a level handicap for them. the regular players didnt know about that shit, absolute -blam!-ery, -blam!- those "content creator" shitbags and bungo.

Agree. It's funny that Gothalion was complaining leading up to the raid how "unfair" it was that some had saved LW keys, etc and how it wouldn't be a "fair" competition, and yet they're perfectly content and happy with the fact that players who can't play 24/7 after launch are locked out of not just participating in the race, but attempting the raid at all. Raid release day used to be like Christmas for my friends and I. Then everyone took off work for LW only to find that even 10+hour days grinding to get ready wasn't enough to not be power-locked out of boss #1. Here's the cold hard facts. These streamers like Goth, the elite of the elite, don't care about anything but their own communities and their livelihoods. Gothalion said it himself when dismissing the everyday players disappointment in being power-locked out of the first Forge 20 minutes into Black Armory. He also is the one who championed "meaningful infusion" which has us forever at the mercy of Enhancement Cores to actually be able to use the cool drops we have gotten. His quote there was "[we] need to use and wear shitty gear to appreciate when we get good drops". Broman said "it's good that cores bottleneck players while leveling" These are players who are not affected by either. They were both 650 within a day or two. They play for a living and have piles of every material including cores. Another fun fact. They also championed power mattering in PvP. So when you find your OHK abilities don't OHK players like them in Gambit and IB until you hit max power, it's because they wanted another cheap advantage over their competition because being max light and having optimized gear, weapon and perk sets isn't enough. But hey some of us did get a couple weeks at 600 at least before having to go back to grinding. Of course PvP is all set up to let grotesquely high skill players farm the people just trying to have fun with friends or do PvP quests they need to level or get gear like Ace of Spades. But yeah, 2500 elos vs 1100's is totally cool. Season of the Streamer is still going.

          • I unsubscribed from all of the Destiny streamers and youtubers. Frankly I'm tired of them telling me how i should play, how easy the game is, blah blah blah and that the endgame isnt enough. Bungie struggles finding a balance between casual and hardcore. They started too far in the casual domain, then move way too far into hardcore. I physically cannot play the game 5+ hours a day. I hope Destiny 3 flops hard.

I think slowly the backlash momentum is growing against streamers and rightfully so. Their views only serves their own interest, aka content which they can play 10hrs a day and keep people watching. There is literally no need for a raid to drop 3 days after the new content (i use that term loosely with BA), a few weeks would be perfectly acceptable. Me, you and prob 90% of the community could work with that and dedicate time during that period to getting to a decent PL (if raiding was their desire). These raid release dates only serve one purpose, streamers (those who can play 12hrs a day for 3 days). They draw big numbers for worlds first on Twitch, for Bungie thats exposure and they hope sales. They dont care about joe public or "casuals".

              • Proof is in the pudding. Streamer numbers have plummeted in D2. Most left through desperation to save their channels and returned with Forsaken but that dried up after just a week or two. Now on Twitch D2 has basically no real numbers at all. This is a large part why. Ironic they cater to these guys so much cos I remember before D2 launched Bungie did an interview with Gigz, who had played the game. All he did was praise everything that flopped massively. 4 v 4 was amazing. No rerolls was amazing...etc etc etc He basically loved everything they spent a year scrapping cos the fans hated it. If Bungie makes its bed with the top .1% then wonders why the game became stale fr everyone else, then they are even more -blam!- than I thought

              • It's one thing to have the raid be incredibly challenging level wise day 1, but it's entirely different when you block out anybody who isn't playing the game 12 hours a day and/or gaming the system to hit max light. Streamers are the only ones who can even compete remotely

                • All you have to do is read the Twitter account of one of the regular Worlds First Raiders (WFR) - Gigz He openly admits that he had to hold back bounties and exploit the Prime Engrams drops from Knights in the Ascendant Challenge. Tonight's WFR will all be 650 or very damn close to it, as they have ALL exploited the game mechanics. Just so happens that this weeks Ascendant Challenge is the best one to farm primes, do you really think this is a coincidence? Gigz has said that the levelling system is completely broken and he has been forced to exploit it just to stand a chance. https://twitter.com/t1gigz?lang=en Feel free to have a read for yourself, this isn't a sour grapes post but just a post to highlight that the streamers are the ones who openly exploit this game to the max yet receive nothing but praise from Bungie.

Bungie knew when they released the raid in this short of time from the dlc launch who would be playing, it was purposely done.

                  • The game isn’t for Casuals, regular players. Only steamers, no-lifers and MLG. I remember when WE defeated Crota, we saved the Traveler and fought back the darkness in the Black Garden. We guardians stopped Skolas and Oryx But now you just log in, get a message and find out some Streamers just beat the Raid and saved the world. Oh and they are 650 in 2 days. Dope. Endgame is only for them.

Well, it's understandable from Bungies point of view.. They need to sell their product and the streamers sell it for them. It's all business man, it's all just business. They just want our money, thats it. Want input? grow a big enough fanbase and become an influencer. Can't hate on the streamers either. They saw opportunity, they took it. I'd do the same if I had the energy for it.

                      • I think it should be possible for everyone without saving powerful bounties for weeks before to at least do the first encounter though. Raise the power throughout maybe idk i like The Raid system though and don't want it broken

                      • Anyone could have saved all their powerful gear drops once they hit 600 for the update. Now I do wish it was possible for me to raid within the first week so I didn't miss the powerful drops and loot. But the people who can and do put in the time and work should get some exclusivity

                      • In D1 you'd play thought the campaign and be ready for strikes, play thought strike and be ready for the night Fall, and playing strikes and the night Fall got you to the recommended light level for the raid. All this in....I believe the raids released in the same week as the DLCs release, I forget. In destiny 2? Do the same shit as in D1 and not even close to raid ready, yet in that first week you are seeing "content creator's" already close to the light cap before they even touch a raid. I said this yesterday, either they had Early Access to leveling up, they have absolutely no life, and or they cheated again. Pure fomo overcame me the day the dlc came out then I remembered how shit the progression is for some players and decided I was done for good buying for a while. Maybe I'll buy when the price for all three is half, maybe not.

                      • I cleared the raid just now with a group of 630s. I basically only had one bounty that bleed through to this week cause I legit forgot (last weeks gambit bounty for my Hunter). It goes to show that Gigz refuses to play the game the proper way and nut up to having to figure out how to deal with hard hitting adds/mechanics. They cheesed the final encouter by ignoring the mechanics. XD What a bunch of pathetic raiders we deem as "the best". They aren't the best. The best can clear a raid witht he absolute minimum gear by executing it perfectly. Bare minimum. They are far from doing these raids at the bare minimum like everyone else do.

                          • How about the fact that even if you no life the game. And if you try to play the content normally at 600 light that the most you can hit with okay rng is practically just 620 or more. Let's not forget next week's reset getting the light level so you can raid just to get no's all because you didn't DO the raid when it's braindead easy. ALSO how the content is not able to hit raid ready unless god tier rng or bounties before that gave power drops. We paid them 35$ just to wait for content that we paid for. -blam!- stuff man.

                            • Thing is, how long would it take for everyone to have a fair chance? To give everyone a fair chance, we'd have to wait like weeks since a lot of people don't play this game hardcore. Lower the light level instead? Then we wouldn't really have much light level to try and rise up to, making the endgame not feel endgame. Even if they did lower the light level (which they would have to lower it by a significant amount for average people to have a chance), the hardcore would still have an edge anyway with how their levels were before the raid came out.
