It gets a lil tad boring just to capture them like that i wish they implemented something that you could choose to battle them and then capture them the go way. Game is still fun but the whole mechanic gets a lil bit overdue. What are your thoughts on the game by playing it so far?

Used a masterball for zapados tho that guaranteed catch is nice😉

I like the catch mechanic but would prefer a mixture of wild battles AND the catch mechanic. It makes more sense to train from wild battles instead of 6 pokemon you barely use getting XP from catching shit lol. I DO like catching shit though, and now it's way easier to go for a full Pokedex because the PC system is entirely portable! That's such an awesome change, I hope they dont revert in the main game coming out next year. I recommend going to Diglett cave and just catching a ton of those if you wanna level early on. Bring great balls for the different sized ones and you'll be pulling in 2k experience per catch if it all goes smoothly. Gotta catch on the first toss and have it preferably be excellent or good rating. Anyway, I like this game WAY more than I thought I would. Riding my Charizard alone was enough to make me feel like this was worth a birthday gift request lol. Running into Jesse and James was pretty cool too.

Editado por irishfreak: 11/17/2018 8:44:22 PMI actually think its fine, funnily enough the trainer battles wreck my head due to the frequency. What I dont like is the lack of pro controller support, if I can play with the two joycons in handheld theres no reason for there to be no pro controller support.

The mechanic wouldn't be nearly as annoying if it weren't so damn random with the ball straying into left or right when I fling it. I just want to play it with my damn pro controller!

1 RespuestaI like the system. I hardly ever caught pokemon in past games. I would go through the game with like 30 registered pokemon after evolutions and everything, but this system encourages you to capture almost anything you see with the xp you get from doing it. I never watched much if the animated series as a kid, but I could have sworn that when people caught pokemon, they usually just threw a pokeball at it instead of weakening it, paralyzing it, etc. It kind of feels more, I don't want to say realistic, but it feels more... right? I do wish there were more opportunities to battle, though. Trainers could always give you more pokeballs after a battle, and xp should be limited a bit after catching a pokemon. (Level 15 pikachu while strolling through Viridian Forest) Aside from these small things, I think it's a good game that could potentially introduce a new, younger generation to the series. We'll see how everything plays out, though, when a new main series game comes out in the future.

Not planning on picking this one up. I've been taught through 7 generations of Pokemon that wild Pokemon will attack you. I can't come to accept that a Gyarados is just gonna sit there and let me chuck balls at it with no retaliation whatsoever.

2 RespuestasI played it at MCM expo last month and found it ok as a mechanic but it's just like a novelty that i'd rather not constantly use. What's annoying is I pre-ordered in June and they still couldn't get it to me for launch day (hurry up postman I want my Eevee)

I can't play it, but it sounds fun to me. I always hated wild encounters, so I feel like with the Pokemon go catching mechanic might make it slightly more interesting. I'm pretty burnt out on Pokemon as it is, I'm glad they switched(pun intended) it up.

2 RespuestasIs it like Pokemon go or something?

Yeah, that’s one of the two reasons I decided to pass (the other being thst it’s only Gen 1). Like, I get why they did it, but catching Pokémon is half the fun of the game.
