Played last night, my whole stack got hit off. Queued 10 minutes later, matched the same people, consequently got DDoS'd again. We all got suspended from Comp because we "left". First game today, we matched a stack and got hit offline and banned again. Seriously? Why is this even a thing? Reporting doesn't do jack, wtf do we do against these fat kids who can't work for pinnacle items? Why should we, the honest group of players, be punished for being hit offline by the opposing team?
Edit: My highest glory was 5.2k, I am not new to Competitive play. I have been around since D1 trials, DDoSing is a recurring problem: just despicable that it has been haunting me for 5 years.

You know bungie added the howl to see how many hackers would try to ruin it for everyone else lol.

4 RespuestasEditado por Dragunov1987: 11/4/2018 11:22:42 PMSadly, Bungie won't do ANYTHING about it. Just to grap the situation: "a certain player" has cheated since the release of House of Wolves on D1. Guy even got to "top 10 trials players" with all his match histories telling that 2 of the 3 on the enemy team "deserted". Same guy Played Destiny 2 and continued to do THE SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN. He was banned only because he did it to a streamer that, literally, hunted the guy. There were tons of videos of him cheating, and Bungie did nothing for 4 YEARS. Guess they are busy creating ways to force people to play the way they want instead of actually caring for the health of their game.

I feel you bro. Same thing happened to me just now.

1 RespuestaHave you considered that your connection is just ass

Silly console issues.

4 RespuestasI'm confused, why are you playing competitive pvp on Destiny 2?

2 RespuestasThe sad part is that this is largely Bungies fault to save money. If they had Host Servers so that you connect to only the host, your IP address would not be exposed. If they don't know your IP address they can't DOS you. They could DOS the Host Server, but they would not get the win like they do now and might wind up getting Law Enforcement involved. I've decided that given how many games have clearly stated they have Dedicated Servers (like Fallout 76, Anthem, Cod 4, Battle Field, Titan Fall 3, Red Dead Redemption II, The Division 2 etc. etc.), that unless Bungie has Regional Dedicated Host Servers with ZERO Peer to Peer, I will not be purchasing Destiny 3. I urge others who feel likewise to make their opinion known to Bungie.

15 RespuestasFunny, in all my time playing crucible in both d1, d2 on xbox, and d2 on pc, I’ve never once been dossed. Funny how it seems to happen to certain people all the time though.

1 RespuestaMy fiancée was DoSed playing a game at 210 glory so I don't think this issue is exclusive to higher ranks.

A friend of mine got completely hit offline while we were playing comp together. We were playing a group we had matched earlier and beaten them 3v4, even when our random teammate disconnected (weird right). We match them again, we go up 1-0, and then shortly after my friend gets completely disconnected and his internet at home didn’t even work. Shortly after that, I disconnected for some reason but was still able to access the internet? Idk it was weird and highly suspect that this opposing team was cheating. Also, there was a random on the other team of cheaters (a 3 stack) and we ended up finding out that they had been rude and cursing him out the entire time. Lol. Pathetic.

1 RespuestaMore of this? This is getting ridiculous now. I'll give the same advice I gave someone else earlier on today. Document and record evidence if you can. Call your ISP and get them to confirm a DDoS / DoS. Maybe even talk with the others who've been attacked as well and compile the evidence. Then send any / all evidence to gaming journalists / youtubers who are probably going to cover this in the near future. At this point I can't see any other way of this getting the attention it needs.

5 RespuestasEditado por cosmic_chaos: 11/4/2018 5:59:39 PMProblem is not DDOS although it is annoying. The problem is that the incentive in comp is wins. This makes no sense because winning is not up to you or your stacked team or solo-q team. The odds of a team winning is up to bungie and their match making. Consequently, most people get upset with comp because they want to win which is the only incentive in the game. If comp progression included other factors like kills, assists, damage, points, medals and wins to level up, people would not be as upset. People get angry because they have no control of their win and then more factors get added which further reduces their control. For example ddos, noobs, rage quitters, stacked teams or much better players. If I would progress even on a loss by making sure I got kills, avoided death, played the objective and I tried my best I would not care if my team got DDOSed. I would just play the match or start a new match. Lastly, people want to feel that the match is fair or as fair as can be. Bungie does not offer that.

3 RespuestasSince doing the broadsword and Luna quest I’ve been in a lot of matches (probably more than I should have). I’ve yet to have this happen. I’ve yet to hit the fabled rank so is this something more common at the higher ranks?

3 RespuestasEditado por Shanine1106: 11/4/2018 11:56:32 AMBungie doesn’t care tbh...I had a video where this people ddos the shit out of me in comp that leads me to losing my streak as solo player guess what they did?? They took down the post like they always do just to protect this bitches from cheating people and getting that hard fought wins 🤞🤞 after that I seriously think that they supporting this kind of acts 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Editado por Wrakz: 11/5/2018 9:47:06 PMDon’t blame them at all for Ddosing anymore honestly. Bungie has a terrible setup for competitive along with the failure to balance their game to be enjoyable. Solos get queued with 4 stacks. It is ranked based matchmaking rather than skill based (huge difference here, I don’t want to play with people who got carried to my rank) And the fact bungie refuses to do anything about the ammo economy. Primaries are no longer primaries because people camp heavy every minute and spam shotguns and telesto. Let’s not forget about having 3 different supers per player a match. Real “competitive” bungie. People don’t want to play this bullshit. This is the game bungie wants. And until they realize how bad it is, the toxicity is only going to get worse.
-
Bungie protects these people
-
Oof. Looks like it's a thing at higher glory. Sorry to hear my sir.
-
Over four years and you still haven't changed your expectation? People should stop expecting Bungie to change and just change their own thoughts on the subject. Either accept it as part of the game or stop playing, outside of that you're just hoping for something that isn't going to happen.

Editado por EzE_408: 11/4/2018 9:42:20 PMOkay. A lot of people who naively believe DDOS doesn’t happen. How to spot a DDOS. 1.) Entire Internet offline for about 10 minutes, then possibly highly unstable afterwards. For you and possibly teammates. 2.) Opposing team has many wins in their history where opponents lose players or teams/players abandon match. Many times these guys will try to play you legitimately, but if they are in trouble of losing, they will not hesitate to flood your router 1 person after another. 3.) Opposing team has stats that don’t match their rank. How many players do you know who have negative K/Ds, but have 5000+ glory. Not happening, but DDOSERS do. 4.) They used to have relatively new accounts, but not so much anymore. Bungie doesn’t ban anymore so the use of alternative or new accounts is not necessary. Remember, a carry can net these guys $500+. Even with a console ban after doing 1 single paid carry, they are profiting. Stay safe guardians!

1 RespuestaEditado por $hirtless Captain Kirk: 11/4/2018 1:36:36 PMAnytime loot is tied to wins in any way, you'll have this problem. Unless we get dedicated servers. No activity including Trials should be tied to wins because unfortunately the Destiny community at large is far too toxic.
-
6 RespuestasSame problem has existed for years with Trials in both D1 and D2. Bungie plays the ostrich move most politicians use, pretend the problem doesn't exist and under no circumstances are they to acknowledge it's a problem.
-
Remember this: Banned players don't buy microtransactions or DLC.

6 RespuestasEditado por Nike: 11/4/2018 8:30:55 AMYeah, I've been placed offline a few times during the course of Destiny 2. Find it quite amusing that there are others that just decided they can't compete on an equal playing field, they can't be bothered to improve, so they resort to these tactics. ~TheGreatNike

2 RespuestasIt's constant stories like these that put me off ever seriously playing competitive, like some of the rewards look good but constant stories of ddos just make me not want to bother at all with it. It's just sad that D2 is a good game, but the underlying infrastructure is just bad (p2p connections, atrocious loading times for example)

Bump. I'm tired of seeing this. I dont even touch comp anymore because of this. My clan mates matched against a team who also got them twice in a row, earning them a headache and suspension. Kudos Bungie for the shit system. Reward the cheaters with Luna and punish the straight up players with a suspension!
