Hello!
I've been very interested in the Nine and their lore ever since the Trials of the Nine. The Emissary remains to be one of my favorite characters in Destiny 2.
Unfortunately, we only had the Trials of the Nine (and since I'm not that good at PvP, I rarely had the chance to earn some of the gorgeous gear they had). We know that the Nine were allied with the Awoken at some point. They also seem to support the Guardian's cause by sending Xûr, their agent, to deliver unique gifts.
What do you guys think about the Nine?
Feel free to share ideas and discuss below!

Not game lore, but maybe where the idea came from: The Mayan prophecy to do with 2012 was that it would signal the return of "The Nine”. “The Nine" are mentioned in an inscription on Monument 6 of the Mayan site of Tortuguero, in the Mexican state of Tabasco. The monument was erected in 669 AD and is one of the very few pre-Conquest sources that mention 2012. Various translations or partial translations of the inscription exist. This is the most common one: "At the next creation, the Bolon Yokte Ku, or Nine Support Gods, will return.” However, the actual word "return”, sometimes translated as "descent”, is not intact on the monument.

8 RespuestasThe Nine serve and protect the pillars of Nosgoth... Duh! After Vorador infiltrated, Malek, (Defender of the circle) was damned and his soul was fused to a set of magical armor for eternity. A few hundred years later, Ariel was murdered and Nupraptor went mad, which corrupted the minds of the nine. It was at this point where the pillars of Nosgoth decayed. At this point, Kain was born. I thought we all knew this!!??

Editado por CIKiller: 11/4/2018 5:17:38 AMIf you ask me, they are a group of powerful beings (so powerful Mara Sov tried to calm them down when they got a little bit upset) trapped in a pocket dimension named "Unknown Space". The 9 suggestions for what the Nine are in that one D1 grimoire card all exist and have some sort of connection to the Nine, but none of them are actually the Nine. As of right now, only 5 of them seem to be active, something even the Nine themselves have acknowledged. They seem to have a connection with either Riven (maybe the Ahamkara as a whole), the Awoken, or the power of Taking (possibly all 3). As when Oryx invaded the Dreaming City, they wanted to save "the children", of which one member stated that the "children" in question were not theirs. They referred to Taking as "recruiting", and, they went complete Apes*** when Riven was Taken. They also have a presence in the Dreaming City, judging by there being 9 cat statues, which give you an emblem titled "Ennead" when you give gifts to all of them. Ennead translates to "group of nine". To this day, we have almost no idea as to what they truly are. However, if we join Emperor Calus on his empire-reclaiming journey, maybe we could steal some of those "vast texts of the Ennead, trapped and reaching out" stored in the Cabal's vaults and finally figure out what they are. However, as with all mysteries of the Destiny universe, only tume will tell...

2 RespuestasThere were 40,900 people aboard the ship Yang Liwei. A very specific 40,891 became Awoken in the aftermath of Light colliding with the Darkness. What happened to the other Nine?

1 Respuesta<Allied is a loose term. The Nine also sent Xur to get rid of their Exotic stash, as they do not need them (they believe they are useless weapons). I whole-heartedly believe they are either forced into being evil or are evil by choice. They are not to be trusted and I'm convinced they work with the Deep.>
