The whole raid concept breeds toxicity and is the reason why the vast majority of Destiny players do not participate in the activity. Bungie's insistence on incorporating stupid nonsensical puzzles into the raid make it even worse. Making all 6 players stand on X at the exact time and rotate counter clockwise while jumping on another X is just plain stupid. No thanks. You all can have it. Sure, some people do ask to be carried through the raid. You say to "learn to play the game". Watching vids of the raid goes against that philosophy. Most of us would like to go into the raid and discover "how" to play it on our own. That's where matchmaking comes into play. Optional matchmaking to be specific. The elitist and toxic jackasses (not you OP) wouldn't have to bother with it, neither would guardians already in clans that are active. But for the rest of us having optional matchmaking for the NF and raid would be a great thing. Oh sure, the arguments would come in that people would bitch and moan about playing with randoms who haven't done the raid before. People should understand what the word "optional" means. Most people engaging with the raid this way would be people like me who want to "learn" how to do it on our own pace. We wouldn't be worried about a completion the first time we did it. Over time we'd be able to help newcomers to the certain sections of the raid, and so on and so forth. I don't expect Bungie to ever do this due to their stubborn nature, but one can wish.
