The best rock band?
The top best classic rock bands according to the internet (taken from: https://www.thetoptens.com/rock-bands/
I wanted to see what band OffTopic prefers. These are the current top 5 in order.
If you're disappointed your favorite band isn't in the poll, tough luck. I'm mad that Van Halen and CCR aren't top ten.

In my opinion, that goes to Pink Floyd. They're music...especially live...can just be transcendent when they're on. In ways that I never found The Beatles to be. Though those who claim the Beatles have a legitmate argument in that they were the door through which lots of other kinds of music were borrowed from to expand the palette of rock music. As for the article. Led Zeppelin had the best musicians but doesn't belong in the top spot. Nirvana needs to be higher on that list....and Guns and Roses (I was a fan) doesn't belong on that list as all. GnR was basically the Americanized version of AC/DC. The spot they are taking up, I'd give to The Eagles...or to Rush. I don't have any objections to the rest of the list.

Agree with LZ for the #1 spot. I don’t fully agree with some of the other rankings, but it’s generally reasonable.

Anyways, looking at it from an "objective" standpoint (as much as one can with something that is almost purely subjective) money made, albums sold, records set / awards won, tours, et cetera -- it's Metallica.

9 RespuestasZeppelin was/is highly over rated. Floyd is just too weird for me. Never could understand them, nor liked any of their stuff. The Beatles got the ball rolling, but I was never a huge fan. They're good, but too much external nonsense instead of music. Queen only had maybe 1/3 of their songs that were ostensibly rock. What they did have was great. Metallic for this list. But Van Halen. You can't think best rock show, best frontman ever, one of the best guitarist (his style) ever, and not have Van Halen be in the conversation.
