So thanks to the Ishtar collective, we know a lot now.
Variks tried to help the city during the red war.
Cayde took him to see Zavala.
Savathûn tried to take variks in his sleep.
Variks gives up on the idea of the queen coming back and the kell of kells showing up.
He decided to become a kell and caused the prison break where all the barons escaped.
During the prison break, he announced that he would save the fallen from the light, the dark, and themselves as the one true kell. It appeared that some of the fallen in the prison supported this idea.

4 RespuestasIt’s still odd that he’s a vandal and not a captain let alone the size of a kell. Hopefully we see the guy size up when we see him again. Gotta unite to fight the DORITO PEOPLE
-
Interesting stuff, I'm very intruiged as to where this is all heading. I hope they don't just make him an enemy though. I'd love to see him return as an ally, seeing him go rogue would be disappointing to say the least...

<Wait... Unknown Space? Oh shit... I -blam!-ing knew it. I knew the Nine were shady, I knew something bigger was happening... I knew they were related to the Blight, the Deep, the Darkness within and without. They tried to take my dude Variks. The bastards, nobody takes the rightful Kell of Kells!>

Just read it all, I would say Variks is doing what he's supposed to do. No right or wrong here.

26 RespuestasEditado por Tâxx, Herald of the IRS: 9/7/2018 4:23:21 AMInteresting. This means Variks could be the Kell of Kells and could ally his House with the City in the future. I really hope I'm right and this is the case.

13 RespuestasJust one more Fallen bug to squish. He’s as responsible for Cayde’s death (and fully responsible for every awoken soldier that died in the prison break) as the Barons. We’d better get to put a bullet between Varik’s eyes at some point.

Variks did nothing wrong

1 RespuestaVariks was a good guy. He got corrupted by a more cunning oryx. It’s not his fault. Poor Variks. Poor cayde

8 RespuestasGreat, so now he’s evil.

7 RespuestasIf he caused the breakout, then isn't he indirectly responsible for Cayde's death?

1 RespuestaI think the spider has something to do with spider , cause they both love ghost shells

15 RespuestasIt’s funny that he scoffed at Skolas for trying to unite the Houses, only to later try it himself.

Interesting. This is setting up Variks as the final big bad for a Fallen themed expansion. It'll be tragic to dismantle him instead of mines, but it must be done.

10 RespuestasWait, how did he survive not being taken?

7 RespuestasInteresting so it sounds like there might be a fight for the title of Kell of Kells. Variks seems to want to be it going by these lore entries. Mithrax also seems to be looking to lead the remains of the Eliksni and fight for the great machine, going by the Queenbreaker lore entry. Then of course we still have The House of Dusk to contend with, and we don't know exactly who leads them.
