So, I just left a team after playing 3 (full) matches with them. I won't name names, but one of them was threatening DDOS to opponents, and when they wouldn't leave, he'd DDOS them. I ended up playing with them for 3 matches before I was able to fully piece together that was they were doing with absolute certainty. (As I write this, I'm in a party of one of the victim teams, and they matched up with them again, and were DDOSed.)
Summary of what happened:
Solo'd into a match, they invited me to their party. I was returned to to orbit after that, saying I was removed from game world (probs not important). First match actually playing with them after I rejoined them and joined their fire team, free win (where the enemy team doesn't show up on roster, join into empty game. I've had that happen before so I don't think it was anything special). Second match, one or two people left/DQ'd, I mentioned it was weird and he said that's what happens when you 4-queue, people leave. I figured he was right, after a couple rounds, rest of their team left. I msg'ed one of the people asking what happened. He said DDOS, so I noted it but also realize some people can get salty. Nevertheless, I wanted more proof just in case. Third match, one or two left (don't remember, I think two though). One person said lag swipe, another person said they think their teammate just disconnected, so I searched up their gamertags for match history, to find that the match history looked fine (from what I could see, maybe I'm just bad at looking them up. I used bungie.net). Fourth match, DQ'd opponents, eventually all of them. After that, I left and the victims of that team invited me to a party because I messaged asking if they were DDOSed, and let one know I needed to know so I could report them. I let them know the person that I thought was doing it, and I, along with the rest of them, mass reported them. I tried on bungie.net, but only one account was found.
I write this because I feel terrible for what I was apart of, and I'm ashamed I didn't report them after the first incident that I witnessed. This is not a desperate cry to spare me, for I realize that while I did not commit the actions, I was still a part of fire team responsible. This is simply my confession, and my public and personal apology. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

2 RespuestasEditado por Maxximus Aurelius Rexx: 9/6/2018 2:15:00 AMPretty sure that if none of those teammates are friends on your system, and you've have had no previous contact to them before a random matchmaking you're fine. Be pretty brutal of Bungie or even Microsoft to revoke your gaming subscription because someone else on your team cheating. (In my honest opinion, I avoid team shot games, I think it's Bungie's fault it happens when solo randoms are matchmade into games where all 4 or 6 teammates are in the same clan or all privately linked up to wreck randoms. It's just poorly managed PvP.)

3 RespuestasI wonder what it was like when you were winning. I'm pretty sure you weren't expecting to have to come on the website and issue apologies like you are a reformed Bill Cosby.

5 RespuestasThe fact you are naming no names makes you just as bad as them. You keep players like that in the game then cry about it when it happens to you. But ok

2 Respuestasinb4 DDOSing becomes a problem in Gambit. Good job ruining that game mode with more PvP cancer, Bungie. 👍 You guys can't help yourselves from forcing PvP on everyone that -blam!-ing hates it. PvP shouldn't be required for quests.

3 RespuestasTrying to cover your ass for those frosty prebans huh?
-
2 RespuestasYou do know we can just click your name and see who you played with right ? 🤷🏾♂️😂😂😂😂
-
1 RespuestaThats weird so in competitive if the other team quits you still win. Bungie should change that then people wouldnt cheat like that

6 RespuestasOh boy, somebody get me a ladder! I need to help this guy off the cross! Good lord. 😐

1 RespuestaReporting you.

7 RespuestasGood thing you didn’t name names because you’d be banned immediately
-
2 RespuestasI’ve never understood the reason to cheat on this game. Does The persons life suck so bad that they have to cheat at a video game to feel accomplishment? I mean come on it’s a game not a way of life.

Now watch bungie ban only you $.$

3 RespuestasTo be honest If I saw you all were teamed up I would have reported your entire team. I wouldn't take time to see who knew, who suspected or who had no idea what was going on. If you suspect you are on a cheating team leave, period. Don't worry about gathering proof because you can bet your ass the other team has already figured out what's up. There is a chance you were reported and if the Xbox enforcement team actually investigates you're probably -blam!-ed. They don't give you the chance to appeal or dispute they just ban.
-
6 RespuestasIf you messaged and joined them they weren't ddos'd. If they were ddos'd they wouldn't have internet at all until their router reset.

1 RespuestaOp did wait to get a educated conclusion so he can have proof and evidence that the others where cheating. Once he figures they where cheating he didn’t only leave, but also posted the story on the forums so that the cheaters go down even if he goes down with them. If people believe that op should be banned for making a intelligent hypothesis and getting evidence and reporting this, that’s stupid. Don’t believe his story? Check his game history. If he was sticking with the cheating team he wouldn’t have any losses. If you punish someone for trying to do the right thing, then others won’t try to do the right thing because of fear of punishment. I have concluded that op was in the right here, getting the information to stop cheaters.
although more evidence like a relevant video would be better.
1 Respuestayou may very well be banned when Bungie strikes down very soon. Unless they see your teammates have a history then they may only be affected, but their notes clearly stated playing with them will also get you banned.
-
1 RespuestaDid you report them to Microsoft? Or whatever Xbox live’s reporting system is? Hopefully those cheating bastards get banned.

Had something alike happen a few times on PC, where there is 0 population and you meet certain people more often. Also, there is a glitch where you get invisible to enemies (pve as well) but you can see everyone, have no lag. You can only deal damage by using your grenade and super, that breaks the „invisibility“ for some time. So you can simply charge your super, walk into the enemy team and suddenly wreck every one of them.

1 Respuestaif your statement is as written, I would ask a few clarifying questions? 1) why would you message other team (opponents)? When did you have time to do this if you are in QP or Comp? 2) how many times have you been on a DDOSing team, that you would know that action was taking place or question it happening? 3) withOUT naming names, how do you know to whom to point the finger, could multiple players have been in on it? 4) while you seem to have checked the stats of players you thought were victims, did you bother checking the stats of the teammates that you think were cheating? did it appear as if they were winning in this fashion? 5) did you teammates ever say that they were trying to intentionally cheat to win? or even imply it since you were in their chat? I am not trying to condemn, nor am I trying to stir the pot, merely trying to understand the situation better. I'm not a cheater, nor am I a quitter, though I do have a bad internet connection at times and play with some others that do as well, sometimes it causes issue when in activities. I don't see that you should receive a ban as some have called for since you were not intentionally trying to cheat the game, but upon realizing there might be a problem left instead - that should be commended, you could have stayed and kept your mouth shut but you chose the higher road.

4 RespuestasSheesh, people. Actually read his post. He got suspicious at first and made sure it wasn’t just networking or connection issues. When he was sue, he left them. And even joined with some of the players that got stacked. He didn’t name names because that’s not allowed. He DID report the cheaters, though. In fact he did the additional effort to identify the specific source so the others who were hit could do the same. And no. He didn’t get his Claymore first. By quitting and speaking up, he pretty much lost the chance for it. He notes this in the comments. He could have gotten away with it if he kept his mouth shut. Or he could have just walked away. Instead he went the extra mile. Bungie claims it’s hard to verify these kind of cheaters, so we can hardly fault him for waiting until he had his suspicions confirmed. He could have just as easily been getting lucky where connections are concerned. If his story checks out - something Bungie can verify - I’d not only ban the actual offenders, but I’d give this guy his Claymore, just to encourage the behavior, if nothing else.

Unfortunately, you should be banned.

2 RespuestasI fail to believe someone is so naive that they'd be playing and communicating with people who are cheating and not clue in until after several matches.
