Playing with randoms is always going to be a hit or miss. You'll get good ones that know what to do, you'll get bad ones. But the worst thing about playing with randoms? The ones who leave. The quitters. The sore losers.
I don't doubt Bungie will probably change it so that player can join a game in progress when people quit, but I don't think that's enough to solve the problem. It's about time Bungie comes down hard on these losers. It's time to hand out the bans.
Quitting in quickplay is one thing; it's not a major loss when you still have a team of 5 left while you wait for another. But quitting in Gambit? Time is of the essence, and everyone needs to be constantly on the go and working. Losing one guy is one less player helping take out enemies, collect motes, clearing the blocks, invading, everything. There are too many roles that need to be fulfilled for one guy to leave and wait for someone is to replace them, should Bungie implement players joining games in progress.
If you quit Gambit, there should be consequences. At the very least, quitting one game results in a warning that last for 24 hours. If you quit again in those 24 hours, you get a 24 hour ban. And that ban doesn't end at reset, you have to stick out a full 24 hours as soon as you quit. This is probably harsh, but there must be some kind of penalty. Anything.
If you don't want to play a game of Gambit to its fullest because you're a sore loser, then by all means, don't play it. The game will help you not play it by banning you.
EDIT: Looks like Bungie is listening, Travel bless.
We're aware of unbalanced teams caused by players leaving matches in the Gambit Preview playlist.
On 9/4, when Forsaken launches, join-in-progress will be enabled on the Gambit playlist. Additionally, if a player leaves a match they'll get hit with quitter penalties
As for the "but what if I get disconnected" argument, I think it's safe to say the majority of the time you're playing Destiny, you're not getting disconnected. Yes, Destiny has its hiccups with errors that will screw you over, but they're not happening that often to not warrant these penalties taking place.
If you so happen to get disconnected and get a warning for leaving, take a break from that game mode and do something else. If you're getting disconnected a whole lot in a short period of time, its time to look into your issue.

Ok I must be a sore loser because I have a shitty ISP and I get disconnected 2-3 time a day. (I dont have an option to change ISP). I deserve a 24 hour ban. STFU with your nonsense. I paid money for the game just like everyone else, I should be able to play.

You can't stop me from quitting <3

12 RespuestasI disagree. Teams should be matched against other teams with the same number of people in them. Then fill in the remaining spots with solo players. All randoms against full fireteams has got to go.
-
Once the penalties start, all you will get is people going AFK or running around doing nothing. If people want to ruin a game for somebody else, they will do it one way or another.
-
That's actually stupid. If I don't want to go against a clan of 4 all using the op af sleeper, shotgun sliding, and shoulder charging who all t-bag because they won a round while my team steals portals and dies instantly and steals my motes, I shouldn't be forced to stay. If I'm completely stomping a team to the point we've killed our prime before they even got ten motes in, they shouldn't be forced to stay. This isn't a sport. Its not trails. It's a fun game mode, and if I'm not having fun or the enemy team isn't having fun because of the bull the game throws at you, i shouldn't be forced to wait it out.

2 RespuestasEditado por CatMan: 9/2/2018 11:09:50 PMBungie in a nutshell: We don't want you to quit, but will match you with clans and teammates with half a brain and punish you weather you quit, lost connection or got ddost. Me: Surly there is a fix in that shit storm error. We just need to find it. Fanboy: Yeah it is, don't play Gambit, it's fine 1/3 is a rational thinker

8 RespuestasNo. Punishments like this don’t work. It just then leads to people DDOSING in order to win and not get a penalty. Bungie needs to address the unbalanced MM to fix the problem. People are not going to stay in a game they have 0 chance at winning & are just being farmed for KD by elites & streamers. Till the MM gets addressed & at least a measure of SBMM is used in it, you will have people leave games, unbalanced matches, & problems with PVP over all.

Editado por IRaidWithAussies: 9/3/2018 9:15:41 AMHere's what I don't get. You complain that people quit. Because you say "Well stick it out it's not always fun" But then instead of sticking it out because it's not always fun You complain about how it's not always fun. And then blame the people who quit. But the quitter isn't the consistent denominator, the not having fun is. You could, I don't know, encourage people to stick around with... I don't know... rewards? I'm not the professional game developer here, but I'm not gonna tell people to play something they aren't enjoying lol

Are you nuts? It's a chill game mode, it ain't Trials. XD
-
My 4 team que's in.. One guy gets kicked by a zoo animal. So now the rest of us get punished for backing out to pick him back up? Punishing for leaving is a bad idea. This isnt competitive or Trials.

1 RespuestaI just got disconnected and now I’m suspeneded, when I try to join back I can’t because it says since I’m suspended I don’t have access to join back. How is that fair?
-
1 RespuestaLevel advantages shouldn’t be enabled for the pvp side

I'm sick and tired of being first place in GAMBIT and carrying clowns all day playing with people constantly who are terrible is not right to the people who are good because im not the only one and I'm not that good but when you only getting 15 motes and loosing 40 it's -blam!-ed I get punished all day getting paired with players who are absolutely terrible is that fair to me so if I leave a match and get 24 hour ban then -blam!- it
-
That's dumb, banned for a day for leaving a game. What if something comes up and you have to quit, now you just can't play that mode for the rest of the day.
-
24 hours? Seriously? That is beyond overkill.
-
2 RespuestasI was banned from Gambit due to being Disconnected through no fault of my own. You would think that they'd have a way of telling whether you left the game willingly or were disconnected due to their own server issues. In the end, this punishes people who actually want to play just as much the people who are trying for easy wins/ruining people's fun. With how often me and my friends, who tend to have good connection, get Error Coded back to Orbit or even the Character Selection screen this just seems like overkill. Even Guided games have this problem, and I unfortunately foresee it going to Crucible as well.

11 RespuestasIf you quit Gambit, you should get an emblem or exotic or something for realizing what a waste of time it is...
-
1 RespuestaIf you leave you have a life. That is not allowed.
-
Anyone who entertains this crap should be banned & I’m not just talking about gambit garbage
-
With their amazing servers
-
I’m not to worried about people leaving or quitting It’s gambit with a side of trials I’m worried about ... “Must be light level 400+” “Checking Kd” “Must have emblem” “Must have experience”
i may be worrying to much but still come on... be a fair player please?
1 RespuestaEvery damn game I've played someone leaves...Gambit is a headache when it should be fun.

5 RespuestasEditado por ElBambino: 12/3/2018 3:33:25 AMThat is insanely overkill, why not two days or take away any winnings for 5 days while you're at it. That'll teach those no good people for bailing on you during a match! 😒 Edit - it seems some did not get this was meant as sarcasm...because it was.

3 RespuestasEditado por Miofwin: 9/2/2018 4:35:40 PMLmao if people keep leaving teams YOU'RE in then you're clearly not very good Players shouldn't be punished for leaving noobs who die with more motes lost than banked.
