The game just needs a solo-friendly sandbox.
The problem isn't that there's not playlist for solo players (other than Rumble).
The problem is that the sandbox was designed and tuned to protect and promote coordinated team fire.
I make the analogy of playing baseball with an umpire that won't call the corners of the plate or the edges of the strike zone. When you do that you severely disadvantage pitchers....and make the task of hitting MUCH easier.
Weisznewski put his thumb on the scale in favor of team shooting and then leaned into it.

No. Pointing out why this game's PVP nearly died....and is still quite sick.
No. Pointing out why this game's PVP nearly died....and is still quite sick.
Well D1 had the same match making and that game was a roaring success

No it didn’t.

The 50 year old guy isn’t your “honey”... ..and no it didn’t. Bungie has been constantly changing this game’s MM algorithms throughout the life of the franchise.

1. Destiny 1 sandbox. 2. The rule book strikezone and the real world strike zone is not the same. That pitch may not be a strike in the rule book, but if you expect high level pitchers not to be able to throw that consistently and umpires not to call it? You will strike out.... a lot. Greg Maddux was notorious for having such control that he would deliberately throw off the plate to see what kind of zone the umpire was going to call that day.

Editado por Enochua: 8/23/2018 1:44:05 AMhow is D1 solo friendly? no the rules are the rules... anyway an analogy has 2 parts where is the other part? greg maddux would use the back side of the plate not just the front corners. and with umps come human error, so what the hell does this have to do with making a game better for solos?

The sandbox was solo friendly because: 1. Primary weapons killed at a more reasonable TTK relative to player movment speed than currently. Legendary weapons in pvp are nearly as weak as they were in vanilla D2.....while the Go Faster update made most subclasses functionally much faster. Which further cemented the need to team shoot to keep enemies from escaping to safety. 2. Abilities were more powerful. You had supers that you got twice as often...and melee and grenade abilities that were potential OHKs. So as a solo player you had the ability to take on multiple oppoenents, and kill them quickly enough to keep them from leveraging their numerical advantage if you were quick enough, and made good enough decisions. 3. Special weapons and ammo were more widely available (until the Special Ammo nerf). Like point 2, this allowed solo players access to weapons that suppressed team fire, and could result in rapid multi-kills upon teams that carelessly clumped together and/or lost situational awareness. 4. Heavy weapons. Use properly, these weapons could fuel killing sprees that would force teams to spread out to avoid multi-kills....and served as a rubber-band mechanic that could permit losing teams to fight their way back into a match. All of these things were taken out of the vanilla D2 sandbox....and most are having to be added back for Forsaken.
greg maddux would use the back side of the plate not just the front corners. and with umps come human error, so what the hell does this have to do with making a game better for solos?
Greg Maddux was a master pitcher who used all parts of the plate....and human error is part of the game. The ORIGINAL point is that there is a difference between a game having a NATURAL advantage for one side or one play style.....and a game having a MANUFACTURED one because someone is putting their thumb on the scale specifically to create that advantage. A better analogy is the rule changes that the NFL made specifically to disadvantage defenses, and to allow for more effective offense and higher scoring games. Namely the liberalization of blocking rules that allowed offensive lineman to use their hands, and pass block more easily....and the "Illegal contact" rule which disallowed defensive backs to initiate contact with receivers after 5 yards downfield. As opposed to being able to continue to beat up on them right up to the point of the release of the forward pass. The point is that both what Weisznewski did and what the NFL did were calculations to enforce a particular style of play. I agree with what the NFL did...because it brought the defense and offense into better balance...and opened up play and made for more creative and entertaining play. But what Weisznewski did had the opposite effect. It shut down play...closed off options...and forced it into a very narrow, very predictable mold (He Who Has The Most Guns Wins)

Editado por THE SARGE 01: 8/22/2018 10:47:39 PM-blam!- solos. No one really goes solo against a 6 man team. They are just socially challenged and prefer not to communicate with the teams they are paired with. That’s their choice, their problem, nothing really to fix other than handing them some facial tissue to cleanup their teary mess.

Is this satire?
-
...and that’s how games die...
-
All pvp promotes coordinated team fire. Any and all fps games ever made You die faster the more people are shooting at you.
-
Not all games are built solely around team shots though. In D1 you could wipe a team by yourself, in D2 you win a single gunfight but lose health which makes the next close and even if you win you die to the third guy. This isn’t happening because players have just gotten so much better, it’s because guns have become weak enough that even an inexperienced player can get in a few shots.
-
Destiny 1 was ridden with 1 hit kills, hence wiping a team is much easier. Optimal time to kill has only dropped by 0.14 (D1s palindrome 0.86s to the average D2s 1s time to kill, with a few meta weapon being faster) Consequently. If you kill slower so does your enemy
-
Also the longer it takes to kill, the more time their team has to save them.
-
You didn’t need oks for what I’m talking about though. A few TLW shots here, a grenade there and a melee could be all you need. In this game every one of those things is weaker so you need additional time or teamshots to kill effectively.
-
Yes you are exactly right.
