Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble acquiring a single strike catalyst? I have all of the crucible ones however which seem to be a much higher drop rate. So basically, I just don't understand this idea to keep the strike rates insanely low.

No-one believes that made any changes to the drop rate. It seems to be exactly the same as it was before the patch i.e. a few lucky people get a catalyst but, 99% don't. Even in the threads where people say they have got a catalyst the majority got them before and after the patch at the exact same ridiculously low rate i.e. running hundreds of strikes!
-
I get nothing but the shaft for either.

i have all but one strike catalyst.(risk runner) I never got one from strikes, all from prestige nightfall. I have about 240 completions. Its all luck, i didn't do anything special. Even though i get high score weekly i never had one drop during the highscore run. Always a speed run. There is no rhyme or reason as to why they drop, i have just been lucky. i play with the same people all the time and they have max 1.

2 RespuestasEditado por XguyExtra: 8/13/2018 8:26:23 PMI understand it'd be a lot easier if the drop rates were higher but let me assure you that these catalysts exist. I could give you anecdotal evidence about strike exclusive gear like Osprey, DFA, Silicon Neuroma etc dropping way more often on high score nightfalls, but I'm not certain myself. However, The best chances to get a strike catalyst are with high score runs for Nightfalls: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/246688005?page=0 Quoting dmg04 from the thread:
As a final note, getting the highest score in Prestige Nightfalls will continue to provide the best chances when searching for Strike Catalysts.
It's pretty cut and dry. It took me about 47 prestige nightfalls before I got my first catalyst, the Wardcliff Coil. Since then I have switched to 110K+ scores only and have done ~150 Prestige Nightfalls total since scoring became available. So far I've gotten Wardcliff, Merciless, Riskrunner, and I just got the Coldheart Catalyst from a random Heroic Strike yesterday. If you want scores here's what you do: Pick a burn that avoids the more common damage types in your nightfall while also minimizing how many burns your team has to switch to. Pick a heavy weapon that benefits from it or something that allows you to melt things fast from a distance. Energy Scout rifles, Kinetic Hand Cannons work well here. Matchgame and Famine are a must. Iron isn't so bad, and Extinguish is good but I avoid it because I don't want to lose a run to it. Handicap yourself to 360 or maybe slightly below. From there just kill everything you see and drag out encounters to get more enemies to spawn, but try to finish before 15 minutes unless there are very valuable mobs left. Create an orb train with the right supers in the right rooms and you will have an easy time killing every enemy as soon as they appear. I got plenty of other catalysts now but personally getting discouraged about Colony from crucible wins and especially the Acrius catalyst (I see one or more people get this every prestige raid it's driving me crazy).

1 Respuesta
at all...
Just got the Drang one the other day.

Instead of players trying to come up with reasons why to and fro, why don't those dumdums at Bungie just fix it. And for the love of God, stop making excuses for garbage programming. guaranteed they now figure it's going to be a feature of the update. They are just horrible developers sometimes...well 99% of the time...

22 RespuestasBecause Bungie was trying to use them to get people to grind the strike list. But they outsmarted themselves. The modifiers made playing the heroic list tedious rather than fun. The drop rates for both gear that could progress your character and for the catalysts are so low that peoplehave just decided that it isn’t worth the effort. Daily player. I’ve rolled over Valor twice and will probably do it a third time before Season 3 ends. I have every catalyst that can drop from Crucible play. I’ve reached Vanguard level 55 and have several hundred tokens stockpiled. Earned playing exclusively in the Heroic play list and Nightfall’s. I have NONE of the strike catalysts and don’t expect to ever see any of them, unless Bungie fixes this. At this point I just don’t consider them as even being part of the game....

1 RespuestaThey most likely did not actually adjust any catalyst drop rates. They have shared no data to prove otherwise. They simply said they did so in order to shut us up.

I didn't even know there were strike catalysts. What's that tell you about the drop rate?
-
Not only have I never gotten a strike catalyst, I've never seen one drop for anybody in any strike.
-
1 RespuestaStill have 0 catalysts from strikes I al starting to doubt their exsistence

1 RespuestaI finally received my first this weekend. Everybody in the fire team got one. Only one I’ve ever seen one drop, let alone 3. I am well past rank 50 with 2k tokens remaining so I’ve done my share of heroic and NFs.
-
I'm rank 50-something in the Vanguard and have only had the Merciless catalyst drop. I've reset my Valor rank once and am close to a second and have only had the Jade Rabbit catalyst drop there. So yeah, these seem to have some pretty low drop rates. It's the usual loot-carrot philosophy towards getting players to keep spending time in the game.

Editado por Slayer: 8/13/2018 5:46:53 PMHave virtually them all. Missing only the Merciless and Colony catalysts (not even counting MIDA as an obtainable one). Drop rates on the strike and Crucible ones are super low. Ive done probably in the realm of 400 heroic strikes/nightfalls and 200 pvp wins since theyve been introduced.
-
I got one the other day. And I haven't gotten a single crucible one yet.
-
8 RespuestasIve played hundreds of heroic strikes and only got merciless just last week. Still waiting for my vw catylist in crucible. 13k kills and 293 wins in qp (not counting iron banner wins) and still nadda. It doesn't exist in my game.
-
Did hundreds of strikes and nightfalls and got 0 catalysts
-
I have zero crucible and zero strike ones. Yay me.
-
I don't know about you, but I know I'll never get it. RNG hates my guts!
-
5 RespuestasDo 200 strikes and you will get a catalyst for sure. As in crucible matches: win 500 and you will get you catalysts. But don't espect to get one at 20 strikes.
-
Rank 82 or 83.. have only gotten coldheart.
-
2 RespuestasWhen I see that people have done hundreds or thousands of strikes I wonder how we will ever replenish this world with future generations.
-
I have gotten Coldheart catalyst from Heroic strikes just recently... so either the drop rate is incredibly low or people are unlucky with RNG.
-
2 RespuestasI dunno. I'm just missing the Coldheart catalyst.
