Questions for Sherpas(from Sherpa)/Opinions
I have a fair amount of clears and sherpa for Spire of Stars. I learned the rough n' tough EP/Void Shotty and Raiden flux strategy for dmg. At the start it was 2 phases and when farming we got practicing it down to 1. So after that I took this info and taught others to perfect setting up rifts on dmg plates/melting point etc.
A month ago the fast reliable way to beat or 1 phase Val was to shotty and super. Now all of sudden with whisper out. So many new groups looking to beat the boss dont even acknowledge the dmg output that EP/void shotties are capable of with a tractor cannon, they just claim that Whisper stands alone at the top for beating Val when the gun didnt exist a month ago They hastily try to set up in red/blue room and 2 phase.
My situation was the team who was attempting for the first clear they all went whisper or ikelos. I alone ran my ep shotty with just a healing lunafactions and my dawnblade. Out of say 10 attempts my dmg with a shotgun only was right alongside the whispers except for open guy being 50 k above me once or twice. Throughout the encounter, one guy questioned my credibility even though i was pulled in because they asked for a sherpa, and I consistently matched or did better than whisper on dps or gave tips/answers for why x or z happened.
So just tasking other sherpas. They got the clear, but have you guys seen similar attitudes of people never hearing of Ep shotty at Val or even just being attacked for sharing helpful info. Like I'm not coming off as a know it all but a player trying to tell you something they themselves don't know?
Im jsut a solo sherpa at times giving suggestions and some folks want none of it.

1 RespuestaIt does amaze me how stubbornly some people do parts of the raid. Last time I did normal Levi one player said he always did rotation on gauntlet, (not rotating roles like prestige) but just one player on plates one on ground n one running. Wasn't a problem we all knew both ways, but he flat out refused the normal way 🤷♂️ Also serious question, why do people claim positions like 'cup plate' or 'top left'... How does it make the slightest difference where you start in baths? (Ps I almost always end up on bottom right for some reason)

7 RespuestasI just checked your account and you don’t have a single EoW or SoS clear but whatever. If you are trying to solo EP while everyone else is using Whisper then you are wasting revive tokens and overall being a nuisance to the group. Sure EP shotgun does more damage but it is MUCH safer to use Whisper of the Worm. It does nearly the same damage (even better with Box Breathing) and is MUCH safer. The way I Sherpa people is by DPSing from yellow room with Luna rifts and Whispers on top of the plants at the back of the room so the missiles don’t hit. This is much better for a Sherpa as EP shotgunning is much harder and riskier, especially for a group of noobies.

Really don't know what to say in regards to the attitude. Haven't done much of SoS, But whisper strat is safer than being next to the boss with the shotty. So, if they want to do whisper and know that, I'll just adapt to the strat they want to use. Most important is to keep the fireteam morale and mood up. If they start blaming people or simply refusing to learn, just leave, they don't need a Sherpa.

You get more damage multipliers and a bigger multiplier with trench barrel over box breathing. Whisper Empowering rift 1.30 Melting point 1.50 Box breathing 1.30 Raid power weapon buff 1.15 Total buff 2.91 Ep shotty Rift 1.30 Melting 1.50 Trench barrel 1.50 Tractor cannon 1.50 Raid power buff 1.15 Total buff 5.04 I think both strats are fine but math speaks for itself
