They need to be working on a new engine (built from the ground up) that will allow them to modify the game and implement changes quicker (don't think this will happen though).
They also need to have dedicated PvP servers to stop the DDOSing in Trials (don't think this will happen either).

Ummm I hate to tell you but 'this' engine which was lauded by Bungie before D2 released, was meant to be able to implement fixes on the fly. Unfortunately it seems they mislead all their customers with that one...
-
I know they said once they had an engine where it would take hours just to move a single object slightly, was that D1 then?
-
It is the same engine in d1 as d2. People confuse what a game engine actually is.
-
That are just false excuses I bet. No company would set everything on such an engine with such resources available.
-
Development is already underway, they're using the same engine.
-
Not surprised there.
-
Me either
-
Oh dear...

-
they could, use an existing engine that is more flexible with dedicateds , like Unreal.
-
But that would cost money and time, neither of which they are willing to spend.
-
If their engine is such a bad one, they would quickly save that time with unreal or another working engine.
-
No they wouldn't, that would cost money
