Its worth getting a Switch just for Mario and Zelda.... but after that... there's not much to play that you can't already play on other systems with more complete experiences. So, Nintendo better get to work and start pumping out some more exclusives that keep this thing relevant. I'd hate to see it be the thing that's just waiting for the next Zelda game, cause we all know that ain't coming this year or next year.

They still had some big games this year like Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Then there was some lesser stuff. Nintendo publishes a shit ton of games every year. The thing is without the third party support it can feel like there's a shortage of games. But if this thing keeps selling like this third parties will be interested in developing games. There will be money to be made. They have a juggernaut due for next year. The next generation Pokemon game on Switch is going to be one of 2018's best selling games. They'll also have Metroid Prime 4.

oh hell yes. i'm not worried for the switch... its gonna be just fine. i don't play pokemon, so that doesn't do it for me, but as long as they are focusing on making first party games that are awesome, the system will flourish.

I don't see that being a problem. Like I said Nintendo is one of the biggest games publisher. They release something like 15 to 20 games a year. Obviously not all of those are going to be a Super Mario or Zelda. The problem is of those only a couple might be outstanding. The PS4 and XB1 are guaranteed to have quite a few outstanding games a year regardless of how many games Sony or Microsoft publish because pretty much all video games are sold on those consoles.

This doesnt even touch the list of indie games available for it if people are gonna praise playstation for having them only fair to credit the switch the consoles been out 10 months and had 2 game of the year contestants and one winner. Not to mention sold over 10 million units by the beginning of December. What do you think those numbers will be post christmas?

You arent paying attention: i am talking about exclusives. All of these indie games are available elsewhere, including both other consoles, PC and mobile. I am talking about exclusives that inspire you to buy the hardware. Nintendo has a few really good ones already... but not many. Thats all i am saying. I am not saying that switch doesnt have games. And by the way... take ine look at metacritic for switch and tell me how hyped you should be for those indie games... not that you should follow metacritic, but its a pretty good barometer of the quality of a game. A lot of trash indies are in PS4, but people arent buying it for that. They are buying it because of Horizon, Uncharted, Bloodborne, etc...

How many upcoming games did you leave off that list? Bayonetta remastered, kirby pokemon and nintendo direct right around the corner. You are making it sound like it doesnt have games when everyone else is praising it for the games it already has and the ones upcoming this year. Dont like it? Sell it everyone else is loving it..

I feel like you think i am trashing Nintendo, when i clearly am not doing that. I am just presenting facts... Since the Switch has sold so well, i know that there will be a bunch of games coming to it, but many 3rd party devs didnt start making switch games until they saw all of this success. So Nintendo properties will have to carry it for at least the next year. I know there will be a lot of announcements coming... i'm talking about today. Relax, bro! You dont need to defend the Switch!

you think so? they're not even all full-priced games.... i think that list has maybe 4 games that i am interested in. So, its at least a good start, but its not gonna keep the system alive.... it needs more. And it will get more... but when? So, i'm not worried for Switch, but lets be honest here... they need more stuff close to the level of Mario and BOTW, not "Vroom in the Night Sky".... know what i mean?

yeah but most of them are on other platforms already... most of them are on PC or mobile devices... but i am not interested in those games as much as i would be interested in actual nintendo properties. And if you check the metacritic scores on those games.... well.... they aren't exactly anything to get really hyped for. But nintendo first party games are usually pretty great.

Theres a ton of games coming out this year and i have a pc if i wanna play 3rd party games. I have resident evil and dragon ball xenoverse and they both run great on the switch

There's a Pokemon rpg coming up, a Yoshi and Kirby game - and the fact that it even has third party games this time is a huge improvement. If I didn't already have an Xbox One with a load of equipment and games I'd have been happy to have the Switch as my one console honestly.

Yeah the third party games are mostly stripped down versions that appear on the other consoles. Not a totally bad thing, just not the best way to play those games. I'm too old for pokemon games... i just don't get it. lol. But its good that there are other Nintendo titles coming soon. We need Nintendo to succeed. The whole gaming landscape is better when Nintendo is giving us these gems... that don't have microtransactions!!!!!

FIFA on switch doesnt have the My Career mode, for one example. The switch doesnt hold enough memory capacity for every single aspect of the modern games that run on consoles or PC. Not sure about Doom, but i wouldnt be surprised if it was either missing some features or at least not running at their target of 60 FPS... So maybe "stripped down" is a little extreme, but new 3rd party games are not exactly the same on Switch as they are on other platforms. As games get even more demanding, expect to see more "lighter" versions of 3rd party games on switch.

It's not. Not even close. Third party games will come to Switch because publishers are seeing that even a downgraded version will sell enough to warrant the work to put into a port. But they won't look as good as they would on the PS4 or XB1. Why would they? The Switch isn't nearly as powerful as those two.
