The nerf to the shoulder charge distance basically sums up how tone deaf they are. Destiny 2 feels so much slower, clunkier, and just overall weaker than Destiny 1 ever did. No movement, weak weapons, a terrible weapon system and just overall another half baked game that we are going to have to wait 3 years for something resembling the content that we should be getting with launch titles.
Does this impact the game a lot? no but it further cuts down on mobility in this game which is already a far cry from the ability to titan skate. That should have been embraced like rocket jumping was in quake or unreal as a cool, community found thing. Instead they nerf it, forcing us into this slow, plodding, boring way to play the game.
This update has no meaningful changes other than ways to get the static rolled gear faster, buy more cosmetic stuff, and still have no real depth to the progression systems or rankings 4 years later. It doenst address any of the major power feeling complaints that many people have, nor does it address this, as Sc Slayerage put it, suck ass weapon system.
Bungie is tone deaf with their patches and balance changes. They make content that lasts two weeks, roll in the money from idiots (i'm including myself in that) and then keep on making pretty looking content that lacks absolutely any depth. Make set loadouts for PVP that disable weapon perks, add random perks back, give us our movement back, and get rid of this suck ass weapon system

1 Respuesta
lacks absolutely zero depth
You realise that is a double negative?
-
You do understand the term "tone deaf" refers to someones way of communicating, not listen, right?
-
1 RespuestaHuh? Speak up sonny. You, you want pulse nade nerfs? Oh, okay. You got it sonny boy.
-
Who tf asked for a shoulder charge nerf smh
-
1 RespuestaHardly a noticeable change at all. I used SC more last night than I have in a long time, still felt great...by D2 standards.
-
Prior to the nerf, D2's shoulder charge wasn't that good.(just takes away one bar of health). Now, they're burying it meters below further... >_>
-
They said it's just when in the air and without target... Is this not the case in reality? Has it effected it when using it against enemies?
-
Not gonna lie, nerfing shoulder charge was the final nail in the coffin for me. It says a lot about this developers listening skills when they take a mobility mechanic that people have been using for years and make it about as effective as a gentle nudge.
-
1 RespuestaNow it doesn’t just do nothing, it literally kills your momentum, and puts you at a dead stop. We need more mobility, not less.
-
It's reduced in the air without a target. It's not the end of the world
-
Lol what do you want lol If you are going to still complay anyway
-
Yeah shoulder charge nerf seems tone deaf.
-
2 RespuestasI wonder if the play tested it and it possibly broke something in game. Maybe the raid lair? Idk I find it dumb as well but it’s the only thing I can think of as to why they would do it.
-
4 RespuestasOkay so... Do people not know how to read? It states the distance is only shortened without a target which means that if a guardian is in range, you still fly to them like normal. The damage also hasn’t changed. So what exactly is the “nerf” here?
-
It was nerfed because people were using it to glitch, if you read distance is shortened if no target in area so doesnt affect game just you cant run and jump forward as much life problems i guess.....
-
Get over it. It’s not a problem and hardly a nerf.

1 RespuestaI’ve been on the forums on and off all afternoon. I’ve seen this thread. And the more I think about it, the more it really pisses me off. I’ve been pretty up to speed with the community’s complaints. The YTers criticisms. Heard Bungie’s response. Had some hope for the future. And things may be pointed in a positive direction. But NOWHERE ever did I hear one single peep about Titan shoulder charge. As other posters have pointed out, it really does seem to illustrate how Bungie doesn’t really listen. I get it that they can’t bend to every community complaint and a company has to have vision. But damn, man. So many other things they could have tweaked on round 1. The shoulder charge? 🤦🏼♂️
-
Ummm, I think the shoulder charge nerf was to it being in the air and flying for a mile, not while still on the ground
-
1 RespuestaAwwww the class that should be the slowest is slower now? Good!
-
3 Respuestasyea... titans need buffs... suuuuure... why don't we go right ahead and give them a 3rd grenade followed by improving speed & armor further on striker... its not becourse its a common sight to see most of an enemy team consist of titan strikers... wow...
-
37 RespuestasYou know what’s worse? They nerfed scout rifles (a long range weapon) to be less effective at long range. That shit makes no -blam!-ing sense.
-
2 RespuestasHonestly the shoulder charge was the only redeeming quality to the titan and that's been nerfed too. Who the hell complains that there's too much mobility in the game? Strafing and sprinting are so damn slow already I just don't see any reason at all to nerf something like a shoulder charge.
-
Go play Overwatch.
-
9 RespuestasShoulder charge will be nerfed into shoulder bump with an apology given by the attacker
-
I’m a hunter main, and I gotta be honest. When I read that they did this, I just shook my head. What a dumb nerf. Like what is this helping or balancing? Also they nerfed your pulse grenades. I share your sympathy, it’s just a dumb thing to do. At the very least make it apply to PVP only. Just shaking my damn head.
-
I noticed it immediately. I often use the ability to finish off a long jump and help me get that last few feet to navigate through the game world but now I fall short constantly. I hate it. I think it’s a terrible decision but what else is new. I mean this is Bungie afterall. What a joke.
