I never had the pleasure of playing Destiny 1 as I am a PC gamer. I have waited for YEARS for Destiny 2 to come out on PC and I have to say, I am not disappointed! The worlds are absolutely gorgeous! The gameplay is fast and so much fun! So far, I am really enjoying this game and I am very happy with pretty much all aspects of the game... Except Chat.
I have read that the creator does not want and does not plan to implement a proper chat system in game. I find this to be absolutely absurd. This is not console. You can not label this a MMO and not provide a proper chat system. And mmo or not, you can not offer game modes where there is no matchmaking and provide no way to communicate with players to team up for these things and expect the game to have any sort of longevity. You guys say clans are "optional". No, no they arent. And what is even more absurd, is there is no clan chat!! Do you really think that people are going to sit on your website and alt tab every time they want to talk with their clan?...
Yes, we have voice chat. But, I have played the game pretty constant since the 3rd day of release and I have yet to hear a single soul on voip. I have tried to talk on voice while in crucible and in strikes. But, I am pretty sure no one has it enabled.
PC gamers are a different breed than console gamers. Yes, voice coms are the way to communicate on console, pretty much always. But, not on PC. Many of us do prefer voice chat, but ALL of us prefer to also have a way to communicate via text aswell.
This is a very important part of this game that is missing and imo, it will hurt the game overall, if it hasn't already. I have mostly been playing with my guy and we use discord. But, strikes are painful sometimes because we have no way to really communicate with our pug teammate. Yes, we can chat in team chat. BUT, that box does not pop up when someone says something. It's just a lil envelope that, from my experience, most people don't even notice until after the fact.
But, besides that, how are people supposed to gather teams for nighfalls? Or raids? Or the new PVP Trial of the Niles?? Not everyone has a slew of friends sitting in discord waiting to play with them. PC players should not be expected to have to look outside of the game to find people to play these game modes. It is absurd, imo. And to not even provide a proper clan chat?.....
I understand not wanting the toxicity that local chat can cause. PC players come with a certain amount of salt with them to every game, it seems. I think the absolute worst in game chat I have seen would be Black Desert Online... I have been playing PC mmo games for years and that chat even shocked me. No one wants that for their game and I completely understand that. But, then you have games like Elder Scrolls Online. I played that game for years and saw very little, if any toxicity in chat. It really depends on what crowd the game brings in.
Doing away with in game chat entirely is not a solution to the toxicity that dwells in PC mmo's. Chat options is the solution. Give options to hide the chat, ignore people, only have chat show what the player wants (clan chat, team chat, etc). You could also implement a very strict censor system with chat. That might annoy alot of people but at least they would be able to find people in game to play with and communicate with those around them. Having a game like this were people have to team up for certain activities but giving people no in-game options to communicate and find players to join is, frankly, ignorant.
This game is AWESOME imo. I am writing this giant wall of text, not to just whine and cry about this. I am writing it in the hopes that someone at Bungie will actually get how much they are handicapping this game by not providing good communication between the players. I want this game to succeed, and not giving PC players a way to communicate with those around them and find players to join them for these major parts of the game, will not do anything but push players away. That is the last thing a gaming company wants and that is the last thing I want for Destiny 2.
I hope in the near future, this will change.
If you took the time to read this entire wall of text, congrats, you get a big chocolate chip cookie and I love you. <3

Editado por Calithief: 11/14/2017 6:15:44 PMI've been saying this since release.....where the hell is clan chat?!?!?!?! Completely absurd and lazy of them to not provide clan chat. All this damn money to fund this game and you couldn't add clan chat to it? Fire what ever thick headed employee didn't think this was a necessity.....it's as if you don't want more people playing this game? Does bungie and blizzard not want clients?? Cough cough our money? Just simply RIDICULOUS, hire me Bungie, I'll speak my mind and lead this game back on the right path to success with it's players!

This is pretty much how I feel as well. I love the game, I really have no issues with it at all besides the constant crashing and lack of chat. And the former only comes from when I alt tab TO chat outside of the game. As someone in the same boat, a PC gamer with destiny 2 as my first destiny game, I really enjoy it, I just don't understand the decision to not have any chat at all. A game where you are forced to make your own groups without a matchmaker, you can't talk to anybody in the game?

2 RespuestasAmen brother. What is a PC MMO game without chat? Sometimes i feel that I'm playing a singleplayer game.

1 RespuestaI agree, not having Public chat is just backward thinking. I'm not enjoying the end game content because i can't get a group going most of the time. I'm probably not even going to get the expansions because of this issue. Not having a public chat because people are easily trigger is just a lame excuse. I loved the game until i got to the end-game. Now I'm just getting frustrated and it's annoying. This is not an MMO until it has a public chat. At least add a LFG option within the game.

I would love to see a looking for group/raid/team emote or basic clan chat.. the only conversations you have are from the quest givers and your ghost. I never see anyone else's ghost and it looks like my character is incapable of speech. So .. Something would be nice.

1 RespuestaI agree. I won't be buying any DLC, unless they put in some basic chat features. Hopefully, they'll add in matchmaking for end game content.

Good luck with asking bungie for anything

Upvoted, I just posted a thread about this. This just feels like single player game! I made it to power 250 and I have yet to see someone write a single thing in chat or answer me (during strike or crucible). Social hub, is social hub? It feels like bunch of NPCs, I am still in shock , I thought it's MMO but I am just playing alone and it's weird ! :(

Editado por RoyalStarks: 11/8/2017 7:00:25 AMAll platforms versions of Destiny 2 deserve chat.

1 RespuestaThis game isn't a mmo. The destiny app/bnet has a lfg function just use that like us console players, you wil have a fireteam in 5 minutes.
-
2 RespuestasDestiny 2 has been completely dumbed down to accomodate pc nubes like you at the expense of every d1 console veteran. No, the game is not awesome, its a shallow reskin, stripped of everything that made d1 addictive and pleasurable. And all for you. And now you want more special treatment? Dont like d2 on pc? Buy a console and try d1.
-
1 Respuestapc players are as entlited as ever i see.
-
3 RespuestasPerhaps you should have bought a real mans gaming console (ps4) , instead of that nerd machine 👍
-
1 RespuestaThis was incoherent. You contradict yourself constantly and identify, then dismiss the very obvious reason there aren't more communication options. This was just rambling.
-
we've been asking for this since D1 in console, wont happen.
-
Yes! YES! YEEESSSS!!!!! Now to read that wall of text.

1 RespuestaThe online community lost the privilege to chat with eachother. They were too disrespectful. It became clear that you can get a larger audience when people know they won't be subjected to the verbal abuse of an adult child (or sometimes an actual child with horrid parental guidance) that decides they're going to take out their life frustrations on undiserving players who just want to have fun. Ruinig their fun lowers average world happiness, therefore making the aforementioned adult-child feel like they aren't so low on the happiness scale. Then there's the would-be comedians that think it's funny to blare porn audio or scream into their microphone when voice chat is not optional. And not that mommy and daddy seem to care anymore, but in a T rated game with chat, you will lose some sales meant for children. I would love for destiny to have a full fledged chat system, but not enough to subject myself to all the negativity that comes with it In large audience games. Until we find a way to remove the disconnection that online interaction gives (I.e. Inability to punch in the actual face) all we can hope for with large-audience titles is opt-in fireteam-only chat. I see two possibly viable solutions: 1. Chat DLC, $50 paywall or monthly subscription with rigorous moderation supported by the cost. 2. In-game vote to 1vAll PvP in social spaces to beat up trolls empty their vaults off the tower wall and break all their loot putting them back to 10 light. With moderator review of the chat logs, and equal punishment to everyone who participated if the action was not justified. Their character remains in-game even if they disconnect. No getting out of your punishment.

No, we all have to communicate in tbags and emotes!
