does anyone regret buying the DLC with the game?

before its release I was happy to pay 80 pound for the game and DLC thinking this would be the only game i buy until newyear. boy was i wrong i was ahardcore d1 player and last week bought assassins creed origins and haven't looked back since what a game! I am so disappointed I wasted the money thinking this was going to take off where d1 ended... Anyone else feel disappointed? will you go back to try the dlc? or have you given up completely?

    • How can you regret buying DLC for this game and feel disapointed when it has yet come out? You should post this after the first DLC expansion comes out. This post is way to early to make an assumption and have any regret of the DLCs which has yet to come. This post should have been do you regret buying the game not the dlc since again they have yet to be released.

      • After D1 I know better. They'll bundle this game and it's "dlc" four times over the next few years. I'd rather spend the money on HZD or Nier

      • I'm really glad I didn't. If it drops and is well received, I'll buy it. No way in hell I'm buying anything else until there are some changes.

        • Yep. Sure are a whole lot of idiots here that disagree though. The only way to get Bungie's attention is money. If I had waited to buy the DLC, I could have "Voted with my feet". Since I already purchased it, Bungie can't get a clear picture of how much people hate or love this POS sequel. They see the boards, they know that some of us are pissed at Luke for making the worst sequel in gaming history. But they also see the kiss ___ reviews. Only a few reviewers gave it an honest review (Angry Joe being one of them, which is why I will only trust his reviews from now on). The rest gushed over the way too short story, and failed to properly review the end game, which is what Destiny has always been about, the endgame. So the only way to cut through the BS is with money. Right now, Bungie has my money. I can't tell them how much they f'ed up by deciding not to buy the DLC unless it fixes every single thing they broke. All I can do is come here and complain, which is pretty close to meaningless when compared to withholding my money. So yeah, I'm very disappointed that I already bought the DLCs. I expect them to be pretty good, but I wish I had a vote right now anyway.

        • Here is what concerns me about the DLC and should concern everybody. This is the first DLC that has been in planning for as long as D2 itself. Yet the first reveal trailer is highlighting exotics from year 1, the VOG, and the vex. First reveal and they aren't teasing a brand new enemy, brand new guns, or a brand new raid, just old stuff from D1. Either Bungie is incredibly lazy designers, or are going full scumbag in trying to sell us back stuff we already purchased in D1, or a combination of the 2. Either way, it doesn't bode well for the quality of the DLC.

Games will get boring, and that’s not a bad thing, I’ve done everything this game has to offer me (just need to find a reason to get on and finally finish prestige to platinum this game) and when I did play it, I had a complete blast. Unlike most crybabies on this forum, I’ve actually done everything, raid, flawless, I’m 304 which is good enough but I don’t wanna just have my life be dependent on 1 mod, besides I care more about looking good than actually efficiency. Most people don’t play trials are finish the raid and say they’re bored. They literally don’t have the right to say that. Is this game boring, yes. But only after you’ve done everything many times. Is it boring when you still have things you need to achieve? No. Stop crying and beat the game.

          • I'll decide whether or not I feel regret after both Y1 DLC's have dropped, and the game is in its end of Y1 state. At that point, I will decide whether to pump any more money into the Destiny machine.

No, because I remember how disappointed everyone was with vanilla D1 (oh, shut up, yes you were), and how each expansion brought real change that made a real difference in QoL and gameplay. We ALL knew what we were in for. We played (or heard horror stories of) D1. We stuck it out anyway, and in the end, we had thousands of hours logged each, and were generally having a good time. Even with all the complaints, how many hours have you logged? Yeah, that's what I thought. Just like vanilla D1, you've already got your money out of it. Go ahead, try to feel that way about a trip to the theater. I'll wait. Edit: No, I'm not satisfied, but neither do I regret my purchase. I knew there was a strong possibility of this being the result from the start. I'll leave it alone a while, come back every so often to see what's new, and when it's suitable for real play, maybe come back to stay a while, provided I'm not stuck on something else.

            • Destiny is Not a standard shooter So I am seeing people make the comparison between Destiny and other standard shooters like Call of Duty, Halo, Titanfall, Battlefield, etc. Skill PvP focused games. An entertaining story to acquaint the players with the gameplay mechanics and players spend most of their time testing their skills in PvP. If you make that comparison I can see why you might feel that you got your dollars worth as Destiny has more content than those. That being said, Destiny is not supposed to be a standard shooter like that. Destiny was supposed to be an Epic FPS RPG game. That is what we wanted. That is what it was initially advertised as and what Year 3 D1 was shaping up to be. The character creation, world exploration, looting, etc all trademark RPG activities. If you are going to do them, then do them right. Watch this Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTfhrONAp-c What You should Expect You should be comparing Destiny to games like WoW, Borderlands, Elder Scrolls, Diablo, etc. because the truth is that, even without their DLCs/Expansions, Destiny is barebones compared to those games. It has less to do and farm for than Warframe and DE (warframe developers) have openly said that Warframe is an incomplete game that still has a while to go. Those games do what Destiny does and better. Also D1 at launch set the bar very low so saying that D2 is better than that is nothing to brag about. The fact that Destiny 2 has a DLC coming out about 3 months after console and 1 1/2 month after PC release is a testament to that. I do not understand the argument "wait for it to get better" or "The DLC could be good". If the base game was not good then why would they buy the DLC? Whether or not the developers actually make the game to be better over the course of the year does not matter. The damage has been done. You put up with that kind of development from F2P games, not from AAA developers and publishers. Take a look at games like Borderlands and Skyrim. They were already awesome games on their own and the DLCs added to it. I didn't need DLC in order to fix the base game. $60 RPGs games should have a maximum of six months of content before you even think about expansions or DLC. Games or services should be complete on their own. If what you got was not good, don't buy DLC as that encourages bad practice. two videos below perfectly capture how I feel about the franchise: 4 min video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll7nJ6GJzjg 36 min video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=185&v=fmcu89CBK6s

              • I haven’t bought it yet, but will. You can kind of expect the same thing from each new dlc. A new area, some new story missions to burn through and then a small amount of endgame content to repeat several times. It’s never perfect and won’t ever be but I enjoy playing it with friends and this next one should be no different.

              • No, because as with d1, every expansion has made the game better and a step in the right direction. I don't remember a time when I wasn't excited for the next part. Am I totally happy with d2 as it is right now, no, but we've all seen what each update brings and I think they have a solid foundation for a good game here. I haven't been able to finish another game since I started playing the first destiny because the next update is always out before I can get around to it. I think that's money well spent. I am however looking forward to anthem at the moment

              • I'm disappointed in many things with D2 but I've had enough play time and enjoyment for my money so far. No regrets about buying the deluxe version with the DLC included. It's nice to see someone that's been with Bungie a long time being handed the D2 reigns now.
