Thank you Bungie for communicating.

I know I am going to be hit by salt, because its as common here as rain is in Seattle. BUT. Thank you Bungie for this latest weekly update. Thank you for the stream reveal. There have been issues with D2, and now I know you are working on them, instead of just allowing us to sit wondering if this is all we get. To all my fellow players out there, whether you are salty or no, encouraging Bungie to communicate more with us is extremely important, and we should give them positive feedback about it. Cause feeding Bungie only salt really doesn't do that much good. Except maybe to vent. Peace! Edit - Just to make it clear, there is a difference between salt and constructive criticism.

  • That's all we wanted. We want the game to be much better than it is, but most of us understand that they can't just flip a switch and fix it. So, just communicate a little. Is that so hard? Barrett seems to have some good ideas that could fix this worthless game. He made my two favorite versions of Destiny (HoW and RoI), so I trust him to fix everything that Luke broke. I intend to keep the salt to myself until I see what Barrett has for us. If it sucks, the salt will resume. I don't think it will though.

    • Why is it labelled as 'salty' when people make good solid posts about what is wrong with this unfinished game? There is genuine concern from fully grown educated adults. Look at the help forum and you will see just how little Bungie do to deal with their customers.
excuse my grammer I am slightly hungover
• You know its bad when a company gets praise for just talking to the community. Like c'mon how many false promises have they feed us over the years are we still that naive to just take their word for it now? But yeah its good their communicating but that should be expected it's not something that should be praised. It's gets a well done you're finally doing your job...

        • I get your point OP but just remember this. When you get fed bull from Bungie (when it finally arrives) it deserves a sprinkle of salt, constructive or not. Bungie need to see the full spectrum of peoples opinions in any way those people can give them. Do you think if they get salty feed back they go and huddle up and cry! I'd say they simply look at ways they can reduce the negativity whilst making there dough. They feel nothing from what we say....

        • Do fixed stats, high cool downs and cookie cutter class abilities need an in-depth critique? Nope. Cause all you need to do is look at D1 to know what they want. The idea that you need to be nice or polite to make a point is a weak defense. If you can’t counter the point of the complaints just admit it. Playing the civility card shows you have no defense.

        • I believe it’s all still part of the master plan. They needed a drop in interest in destiny for the console around this time so you would run out and buy the new call of duty. And you most probably will, lol.

Dont worry about the salty haters fellow guardian, they only make themselves look smaĺl and shallow, like I have said to many games been out less than 2 months people need to give bungie time to remedy the games faults, props for the positive post.

          • It would be nice if they were going to be rolling out these changes with each weekly patch... Just so you know... Rather they've communicated or not, they haven't said anything new... And most of the changes they're talking about, are changes which will be going into effect with the next season. The current state of the game is the state that it will stay in for about six to eight weeks when season two launches. Unless they can no longer sell a narative that the game against all statistics saying otherwise, isn't a flop... Only massive player base collapse will lead to them taking any meaningful immediate change.

          • A little bit of communication goes a long way! Seriously I would have more appreciation and respect for Bungie if they flat out admitted where'd they'd messed up. Everyone makes mistakes but when you own up to your stuff ups people are generally more forgiving. Naturally there is always going to be those ppl who won't be happy either way but for us....dare I say it....more "mature" players we'd respect it. Bungie still has a long way to go regarding communication but atleast this is a step in the right direction. All I can say is that these proposed changes better be given out in patches and fixes....not purchasable DLC. If they go down that road many of us will simply give up all hope.

                  • I agree a little postive reinforcement can go a long way. It wasn't perfect or entirely specific but it was something. It was nice to see as far as I am concerned and I appreciated reading it, so a thank you is most definitely in order. Thank you Bungie for the information. Now there is a bit of a caveat that comes with that 'thank you' though. Bungie needs to deliver on these statements. I can appreciate the information and be thankful that they are working on things that need looked into, but it doesn't stop there. They need to keep this line of communication open and keep us filled in as these changes get more polished and defined. Bring us on the journey with them so to speak, rather than just yanking us from point to point give us some piece of mind on the process.

Only give it as much merit as it's worth. Words are just that... words. Not saying that communication is bad, they desperately need more of it. I like that they said something, but it doesn't excuse or make up for anything before right now. All it is a step in the right direction, it doesn't validate anything before this event. That being said, it is a step in the right direction. -- Just to be clear, there is also a difference between accepting a new face of positive change for what it's worth, and using one positive event to justify a whole slew of negative actions. Frankly, the latter happens way too often. Don't put up your fine lines for one side without recognizing the other side of it.

                      • I’m sorry, please don’t take this as salt. It’s more anger, frustration and hate at this point. If this was their first game in this title, I would probably agree with you. The reality is that we have been through ALL of this before. Lets look at the list: All the listed future “improvements” to the game: 1) New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits. 2) Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities. 3) Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors. 4) Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018). 5) Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules. 6) Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games). 7) Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards. 8)Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful. 9) Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication. 10) New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards). 11) An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time. The only ones that are considered “new” for this game is #8 (mod economy) and #11 (equipping multiple emotes. This is not something that qualifies as good communication. The fact that these items (#1 - 7, 9, 10) were left out of the game, when these were HUGE issues in Destiny 1 signifies to me, intentional neglect. This is year 4 in their “10 year plan” and they can’t even keep to their positive changes, throughout each title, how can we have faith that any year to follow will be improvements? As far as I can see, they do not seem reliable or trustworthy. In short, to thank them for communication when the issues are all the same issues we’ve suffered since Destiny 1, seems unfounded and unwarranted. I honestly do not see how people can or should be praising this company. We need to build upon successful changes, not revert and cycle through them again in the 4th year. The end.

                        • To make it clear, the definition of crazy is repeating the same process over and over and expecting different results.
If it's still not clear, in this case the same suggestions are being repeated.
• Like everyone else it I will say these are not new problems they were present in the first one. Still I am happy they are going to fix these issues and I truly hope they do. I love the destiny games and the people I play them with but once you beat the story the fun of a game like this is grinding for the rare epic loot. Sadly this is where the game fails I want the bragging right loot to show off my hard fought accomplishments. It’s about achievements and the amazing loot locked behind difficult feats that show every one yea I did this. It’s what keeps players grinding

                          • You know what would be great for communication, global chat in Destiny 2, or a general chat in a zone. Kinda stupid game involving non-matchmaking zones requires external ways to find group. Was this really never fixed in Destiny 1?
