This game doesn't have Destiny 1's spark.
In my opinion, here is why.
-only 4v4, no 6v6,3v3, 3v2, or rumble
-team based, no longer can you hunt for high kill games
-individual performance is watered down on the post game results screen due to the "defeats" system
-guns don't feel different beyond their archetype. If the impact and RPM is the same, chances are the Guns have little to no difference in performance
-no ranked
-no different subclass builds, only two options per subclass
-recycled abilities from Destiny 1
What do you think is missing? And what do you think Bungie can do to help fix this?

2 Respuestas
What do you think is missing?
The same thing that was missing from Destiny 1, consistency. The netcode always was and still is terrible, one game everything works as it should and in the next lobby none of your shots register, etc... All of the balancing, different game modes, and how many people we get to play with is irrelevant if they cannot fix this.

Well these are some decent reasons but what about your suggestions? Everyone knows all these points, reiterating does nothing. So next step, what do you suggest? And what do "high kill games" have to do with anything? Even when comparing 4v4 to 6v6 and expecting lower numbers in general, it's not that drastic of a difference in kills per game. There's always someone on my team getting 20+ kills which compares just fine to D1 numbers. If you're still having a hard time breaking apart a teamshotting squad of players, you have some work to do. I'll say that there are games where a really good team can maintain a good teamshot, but probably 8/10 matches, it's no problem to pick the players apart just by playing aggressively. No fancy tactics needed. MIDA/scouts were the meta for a period of time but are now being effectively countered by Antiope or Antiope mimics (Sondok-C, Phillips-B). This is just common knowledge to any decent PvP player.

31 RespuestasEditado por shaney-_-m: 10/25/2017 10:46:28 PMIn your past videos you said you wanted 4v4, slower ability charge, slower super charge, less orb generation, maps that were more even, more emphasis on primary gun skill where strafing and accuracy are rewarded (which means less special ammo, a higher ttk and weapon system changes). I agree with your post but i would like to question how much of your input, from your videos and seeing Bungie at mlg event, went into these changes made for d2? And I question whether Bungie should be taking your advice at all if it has previously taken the game in a negative direction? I'm not trying to rag on you dude I just think d2 was made according to you "competitive" types' specifications and I'm interested in what opinions you are now backtracking on? https://youtu.be/kYFtneSh_ok

Editado por booris: 10/27/2017 4:30:25 AM- No private matches - No Mayhem - No Combined Arms - No Inferno - No Salvage - No Rift - No Zone Control - No Rumble - No Elimination - No Skirmish - No mode choice - Blanket nerfs - Teamshots - Sometimes really slow gameplay - Slowly going towards competitive e"Sports" style, which is NOT Destiny - D1 Crucible was better? On a side note, loads of other missing things from D1:
General: - No sparrow/ship/shader kiosks. - Vendors don't directly sell gear. - One time use shaders. - No collectibles (eg Calcified Fragments/Dormant SIVA) - Static rolls. - Every vendor uses the token system. - Not much use for legendary shards. (Rebuy shaders possibly?) - Duplicates from Exotics. - Exotics and Legendaries not challenging to get like early D1. (Remember people freaking out over Gjallarhorn?) - Engrams not separated into Weapons/Armour, everything is in 1 engram. - All gear automatically leveled up (less use for planetary materials) - Vault space essentially reduced, 200 slots for everything, no separation of weapons/armour/general. - No Court/Forge type activity on any planet. - No main menu for lore. Would have been better to have the grimoire system just in game in a terminal, or at least a menu containing the lore for all of the items you have scanned and the exotics you've had. - Increased grenade throw/melee speed/bonus ammo/reload speed perks on armour non existant. - Weapon slots changed for the sake of PvP Balance. - No heavy machine guns. Story: - Not replayable directly from the map, have to wait for Ikora. - Not challenging. They wanted Ghaul to be a threat, but we get the Light back after 2-3 missions. Imagine if every campaign mission was like Y1 Nightfall, die and you have to restart. And you only get the light back near the end. - Lack of interesting gameplay (eg: stealth mission in TTK) Strike: - No Strike specific loot. - No Strike scoring. - No Heroic strike playlist with modifiers. - Strikes not replayable from the map. - The bosses like to teleport away and come back or teleport away and put a shield up... Raid: - No Ghost/Sparrow/Ship. - No Grenade Launcher/Sidearm/shotgun/Fusion Rifle. - No direct loot drops as you complete encounters (mostly tokens and shaders) - No Raid perks on any weapons or armour (eg: bonus Cabal damage) - Only 1 Boss. - Prestige raid only for cosmetics. Crucible: - All modes 4v4, no 3v3/6v6 modes. - IB Weapon reskins. - Missing loot from IB: Sword, Rocket Launcher, Sniper, Shotgun, Ghost, Sparrow, Ship. - No lore tabs on IB Gear. - No IB drops at the end of matches. - Missing loot from Trials: Sword, Rocket Launcher, Fusion Rifle, Grenade Launcher, Ghost, Sparrow, Ship. - Iron Banner/Trials - power level not a factor anymore.
Excitement is what they are missing....I logged on for daily crucible challenges and just couldn't care about anything other than getting them done and turning off the game. When you're asked to play a game with whatever crap mode and in a 4v4 with shitty matchmaking where it's a full fireteam and ppl leave you just don't care as much. If only I had more friends who played helldivers :/

stats and ranking system needs to be put in at least the cruci grind means something

There are more randoms playing competitive than full teams. Where are the full teams? In quick play “pub stomping “ feeling like gods cause they can curb stop a non communicating group. Shrugs. There should be a no party option. Imho

Editado por Kind of Mind: 10/27/2017 2:42:31 AMWhat is missing from pvp? Options to choose game modes 3v3, elimination, Rumble, Skirmish, Rift & 6v6 Clash are missing and need to come back Melees and Grenades need to have adequate damage so each individual player can take on the teamshooting in the game & balance the competition. Penalizing people that leave games needs to be an implementation

Streamers being able to showcase 50 kill Rambo style games for ad revenue and clicks. That's it.

Editado por StabbyOShanks: 10/27/2017 1:30:00 AMIncentive to play is missing from D2 Crucible. The Crucible specific loot is ok but overall you can do much more in PvP and PvE with other weapons obtained by other means. So grinding it for good loot is not a reason. Is it also the most efficient and fastest way of getting loot..no you get 1 token win or lose and few more for challenges. So without the crucible challenges being the reputation reward, you get 6 from regular challenges and need 14 more to get to 20 to get the loot (which will inevitably be a repeat but different story for different day. Doesn't really get you where you want to be grind wise. So what are we left with then? You either pair up and run roughshod over teams till you run into a way better team of 4 or if you run solo you run a few then: go yeah the friendship reward of crucible teeth kicking is not doing for me and you bounce out. So if that's the incentive then you have what you have right now with falling crucible population. You won't get rid of the one sided victories and fireteams blasting randoms out of water as there isn't a plausible solution that keeps both sides satisfied and you have no incentive of a reward to play. Till there is incentive to play and incentive to improve in crucible it will suffer.

1 RespuestaD1 pvp was fine at the end of year 3. After they nerfed shotguns. They were still viable and werent exploited. Same as snipers. Even with the change of special ammo you could still have fun with shotties and snipers. PVP felt balanced. Some guns needed a buff thats certain, but it felt balanced. D2 pvp is about mida, mida, the last hope, origin story, and mida. I dont know how people percieve it as balanced.

Soon it will be players

Not enough modes and a solo option. Problems fixed

Editado por ABeardedViking: 10/26/2017 10:59:35 PMIt really just needs more game modes and a rank playlist. From the two companies behind a robust MP like Halo and COD it blows me away how shallow an experience the crucible is. It was the same way in D1 as well.

1 RespuestaMake D2 a DLC on D1. Solved

1 RespuestaCrucible is boring I used to enjoy using shotguns and snipers because both types of weapon promoted different play styles. You could snipe and be passive or shotgun and be aggressive. But then there were different levels to it depending on what you partnered each gun with want the best of both use a sniper and a last word or maybe a shotgun and a pulse rifle. Now the crucible experience is exceptionally 1 dimensional you use a mida and a uriels stand at the end of a lane with a team mate and team shot. No variety, no fun. The system of running with 2 primaries is just boring.

1 RespuestaEverything is missing.

Recycled abilities fromD1? Try diminished. I remember in Y1, I was able to give a hearty "piss on you and your crap primary meta" to Bungie by sticking fusions to people (Invective also did its part). Now, sticking a fusion to someone is on a par with sticking a cupcake on them.
