Being completely honest, I think we've been No Man's Sky-ed here...

I kinda feel sad for the dev team at Bungie. Im not really sure if I'd pity them in anyway, but I cant help but think of what must be going through their minds let alone through the mind of their money hungry overlord Activision. Are they just huddled in fetal position in the corner of a big dark room or something? Is the vast amount of negative feedback rendering them speechless? Are they currently laughing at us behind the "We're listening" responses knowing they successfully pulled off a No Man's Sky on their community? I feel like the rest of the community would agree with me when I say that I would just like more of a response right now than one TwitchCon panel and a few weekly updates that don't seem to address the issues their player base is having. I don't think I've ever seen a dev or Bungie employee in the forums at all and it doesn't seem like there is any back and forth between them and us (I could be very wrong about this though). Maybe they are working on ways to fix their screw up, but a consumers patience can only last so long and it has been a month... EDIT: PEOPLE! PLEASE GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS THAT THIS WAS MOSTLY A JOKE!!! ALL IM SAYING IS THAT WHILE I FEEL SAD FOR BUNGIE (SEEING AS THEY ARE GETTING A LOT OF SHIT RIGHT NOW), I WOULD STILL LIKE TO SEE THEM COMMUNICATE MORE. GOSH DARN.

If their dev team listened and literally did everything I said I could grab two friends I've done development with in the past and fix this shit in a month, tops. If we were in some magic world where programming and everything else were instant, as fast as you could think of ideas, it'd be fixed in a day. Many of the answers have been literally handed to them. Any Bungie developer that is still confused as to what needs to be changed is just blatantly ignoring the community. As mad as people are, they WANT to contribute. If they'd take the time to genuinely listen and consider ideas, there are some great ideas out there mixed in with all the troll threads. But yeah, one month. I'll do it for free, Bungie, hit me up and I'll fix your -blam!-up.

    • Well, truthfully, it turns out that no mans sky actually has WAY more replay-ability than Destiny 2.

      • This game is in no way comparable to no mans sky, pull your head out of your ass kid. Bungie doesn’t expect you to be playing their game 24/7. The new content they’re adding to their game gives what the community has been begging for, yet here you are still complaining. If you don’t like the game grow up and stop playing, simple as that, the people that enjoy they game, have fun guys we’ve got plenty of content coming :)

          • I don't think they care at all... They have the game coming out on pc in a few days, that will inflate their numbers enough to act like things are going great... The only thing that is going to really stir a reaction is the PC sales absolutely bomb... I mean like, under cut their target sales by <80%. Otherwise, they'll say "well look there are millions of people playing the game!" because they don't break down player statistics by platform... If they don't get something done to appease console players /now/ by December the console population will be where Destiny 1 was at the end of three years. But as long as nobody sees that ebcause of the PC figures still being high, they won't give a flying ****.

            • my clan-brothers and I were captivated by NMS when it was no more than words on the intarwebs. but then yeah, broken promises doesn't even begin to cover it. honestly most prevalent of which was "oh your CPU has the guts to run the game but we forgot to tell you we were lazy and used these 2 instructions that aren't really necessary but SCREW YOU AND YOUR MACHINE, love, Sean Murray" (oh here, see above link about SSSE and Havok engine) and so I was not even able to play it after paying for the pre-order, for like ?2 weeks? after actual launch / release? and fanboys were raging telling people like me I was being greedy and demanding and entitled or some nonsense, about a game I paid for and I was well within the specs of what the company published as requirements except-not-really. and then, only because I had my PC out for the D2 beta, I updated NMS and tried to play, and what-in-the-effing-eff, EVERYTHING IS PURPLE AND SHINY AND ROUND?! but D2? I dnno. I mean, I am disappoint. it is not the game a lot of us were hoping for. but it's not as if bungo lied on the scale of HelloGames' so many lies. I haven't played much if at all for 3 weeks, aside from weekends simply to buy exotics. I feel like I want to give up and go back to things made by people who care - Halflife/HL2/episodes Borderlands/BL2/TPS Bioshock Infinite

            • The difference is that In NMS the devs tried to improve it. Bungie has made little attempt so far to fix their game.

              • After reading this I actually put No Man's Sky in my PS4 and downloaded the big update that was supposed to improve the game. No Man's Sky is in a league of its own for how boring it is. It should have been called "Space Miner". Destiny 2 did not "No Man's Sky" us.

I didn’t bother to read the other posts so I’m just guessing from your edit that people are bashing you. Although I fully agree that there should be more communication coming from Bungie (I mean what’s the point of having forum community employees when they’re no where to be found) but you’ve answered your own comment as to why you don’t see them on here more. Whiners will beotch and spew their garbage like they are developers themselves and they know all. Bungie’s silence is just adding fuel to the fire but I doubt they would come out and say “Yes we messed up.” It would be nice if they would give a yearly “this is our plans for content in the coming year.”. Things like sparrow events or special events; whatever it is. Just give a detailed plan on what their plan is. Maybe then that would calm people down about the lack of content, changes to PVP like “we’ll have separate PvP playlists once we release on PC”. It would probably just be best to eliminate the forums altogether except for clan/fireteam recruitment

                    • They do not deserve our pity, they KNEW what they were doing. They (bungie) did this on purpose and if we all keep buying their garbage then they didn’t even make a mistake, because they will still get our money. Proving that arrogant, pathetic excuse for a game dev that he was right, we will just throw money at the screen.

For how much money i spent, i got my moneys worth. Hell, if i go to six flags, vegas, gamble or a concert, ill spend more money in a few hours, a fraction of how long i spent on destiny. Hell, treated my boss to lunch the other day and ended up dropping like $70. (Will admit though, korean bbq, friggin bomb af) So comparing rest of life to destiny, i def got my moneys worth. I wont play much till dlc drop, but i cant name too many games i can invest time into like destiny. Granted, there are games like witcher 3 and skyrim with near infinite replayability... and games like warfrsme with free content, i still find my gaming time sink to be destiny overall in terms of my personal enjoyment.

                      • They communicate every week. Maybe that communication isn't what you want it to be, but it does exist. Their communication with the players isn't a peer to peer basis nor will it ever be. Cozmo's job isn't to come on these forums daily and post in thread after thread, as much as some people want it to be.

                        • I think they've communicated quite a lot, much better than the last game. We are getting roadmap and information well before release, that's good. They just need to sort the endgame and crucible out and we will be good.

                        • First off, a month is nothing. It's 30-something days. A month has never been considered enough time in gaming to warrant running around like a crazy person trying to put out fires; not for a game that essentially works. Servers are up. Game can be played. In the first month or so that's what developers worry about -- finding technical stability. Second, as someone who works at a major media company, I assure you, no one's huddled in a dark room. Meetings are happening in all departments. The game's director is having meetings with his superiors about plans going forward, a roadmap that has already been laid out. The community managers are reading these forums and compiling a consensus, which they will then report to the director, who will not report it to his superiors if the reactions are overwhelmingly negative. His superiors will only take note of negative reactions when it has become so loud that the influential gaming sites like Polygon, Kotaku, and Eurogamer are reporting on the actual negativity. When a spotlight is put on the overwhelming negativity for all the world to read, then and only then will the roadmap be changed to be in favor of what the players want specifically. Until then, company higher-ups will only be keeping an eye on sales figures and player numbers, and you can take player numbers off the list for right now because that isn't going to be considered a factor until a couple months AFTER the PC release. So, you can pretty much rest assured nothing significant will be said or done until at least the holidays, and that's if you all don't just stop the whining altogether once the first expansion comes out. My guess: all of you will shell out for the expansion and this will tell Bungie all is well. Complaining efficiently: 1) Loudness matters 2) Frequency matters 3) Endurance matters 4) Sales matter If you can get all four going for some time, you'll see significant changes you'll approve of. Otherwise, sit down and get comfortable.
