One thing we have noticed is a lot of discussions about the Endgame and how it can be improved. Right now, these discussions are also happening in our studio. We are listening, but need time to digest everything and draw up the best plans for the future. We will have more to say on this soon. Please stay tuned, and keep the conversation rolling.

Thank you for the update and it's good to hear it's being discussed internally. Like you said, there are millions of players and we all have differing and strong opinions on what Destiny is/should be and it's got to be hard to build a game that fits what everyone wants. That said, here are some things that I believe would improve the game and endgame grind (some more easily doable than others, but all I think worth considering)
1) A total rethink on team sizes. 3, 4, 6 doesn't work. Ostensibly the reasoning for 4v4 PvP was creating the best crucible experience possible. It doesn't take much searching to see that isn't panning out.
Yes, good connections and crisp play are fun but what's more fun is playing with friends and not telling 2 they have to go after a raid.
DeeJ was correct about Destiny and friendship but the current game philosophies don't support that. There are no easy transitions from patrol to PvP to raiding. It's disjointed and leads to someone always left out or already playing with others because there wasn't room.
Clans in-game are great, but raids as the only 6 player social activity isn't sustainable. Besides Crucible, patrols should 100 % be accessible by 6 members of a fireteam. We cheese it sometimes and it's FUN all running around planets and doing public events together just like it was a blast to cheese 6 into CoE and Archons Forge in D1. I also think despite the idea of Hunter, Titan, Warlock symmetry of 3 person Fireteams, they should grow to 4 eventually.
2) Get rid of Xur. It's good 3oC are gone but exotics still don't feel like special drops anymore. I remember the feeling of having my first exotic drop in D1 and how exciting it was. They're basically handed to us in D2.
I think having chance drops from strikes, the NF and raid underbelly chests is fine; as well as the weapon specific quests like MIDA, but I think Exotic Bounties should return. I think the Vanilla Exotic Bounties were probably the best bounties in D1 and truly felt rewarding. When someone had Thorn, you may not have liked the gun but you knew they earned it.
I would remove Exotic engrams from heroic public events and instead put bounty drops in the loot pool for a set of exotics obtained through them.
3) make exotics feel exciting and special. They don't need to all be more powerful, but every Exotic should have one perk that makes it fun.
4) Eververse is robbing the game of end game content. While I think it's somewhat better than D1 (though still hate that Eververse is RNG) in that items get sold for dust that we can attain just playing as well, I think too much was put into that loot pool.
The exotic ships and sparrows should all be moved to random drop chances in Lost Sectors and Cayde's chests. I would put them at low to extremely low drop chances but they're content that players would enjoy playing and grinding to get instead of wasted as Eververse purchases.
5) The token system needs a lot of work. It's okay with the world vendors and wasn't too bad with the Faction Rally, but it's not popular in IB and how the same random gear drops we get in every other faction engram ended up as loot possibilities for ranking up in IB is really mystifying.
6) There's not enough unique loot. When it was announced all great would have static rolls, I assumed that would be made up for with just tons of variety. That's not really the case.
While the unique sets from the various vendors are cool, there should be more starting with strike specific loot drops like we had in D1. Outside of Zavala's reward drops, there's pretty much no reason to run a non nf strike in D2. I know that for whatever reason you all hated us grinding for weapons like Grasp, but the fact that we did spend so much time farming Omnigul should tell you that we thought it was fun and rewarding.
7) mods aren't fun and there economy is still awful. It's kinda cool we can have 99,999 Glimmer now, but when we're constantly dropping 95% purchasing blue mods to hopefully convert to purple (and not having enough Glimmer to apply them if they do drop! it becomes less fun really fast.
Blue mods just need to go completely. What's their function other than to stack to make legendaries? Drop the pointless step and just let us purchase purple mods.
The mods themselves need work too. They're all pretty boring and outside of weapon stability mods, pretty useless. I've seen suggestions for things like 3rd eye on mods. Don't know that I'd do that on every weapon, but I think exotics all having a customizable special mod slot (with special mods like 3rd eye) would make mods and exotics more fun.
8) Let us replay the full campaign. The Ikora memories idea isn't bad but should not be the only way (besides starting over) to replay the full campaign. Ikora could still have her memories, but I think they should be special, more in-depth missions in the vein of Praedyth's Ghosts and really bring the lore to life. Wouldn't have to be all the missions either.
9) Give more (read: any kind of) endgame challenges for solo play. The craziest thing about D2's disjointed team endgame is that it's all so punishing for solo play.
Crucible just isn't very fun solo.
Nightfalls are no longer soloable
Strikes don't drop anything worth playing with randos to get
Most public events I attempt solo, there aren't any randoms helping either.
There's no arena style endgame like PoE, CoE and AF
Outside weekly milestones, there's nothing else really to do and no daily bounties to grind
10) Jay from Destiny tracker suggested bringing back record books. This again could really give more to achieve at endgame and could be an avenue for even more unique gear sets (the Eververse gear sets could have been in a record book instead and I know players would've loved grinding PvP and PvE for those set completions.
11) make power level matter. It's one thing to scale everyone on patrol, but it plays and feels exactly the same at level 7 and 90 Power as it does at level 20 at 305. Shouldn't we feel stronger?
12) make endgame more rewarding in general. Playing IB everyday for no gear drops. Running the raid for no drops and level nothing gear you already have at the vendor. Those aren't rewarding experiences.
13) gate content better. Other's disagree but I still feel the raid a week in was a mistake and took away from exploring and really getting into the depth of the worlds. Instead everyone was power leveling for the raid and it turned out level didn't really mean much.
Trials did the same with PvP.
Now this week you had intended to drop IB and the prestige raid together. That made no sense. Why would you, knowing a lot of people are going to be grinding the raid all week, put out ib at the same time and make people choose?
14) completely redo the crucible. Casual and competitive would maybe work in set game modes, but they are all RNG.
In D1 I learned Destiny PvP playing Control. I was able to really learn the mode, the flow, the maps, etc in a game mode I felt good playing. D2 is a nightmare hodgepodge. There is no getting into a flow or rhythm when the game mode changes every match.
15) rethink timers. They're okay occasionally but they're mostly just artificial difficulty.
16) give us a Forge and Theater mode.
17) what's the point of the farm? Once we open the tower there's no real reason to ever go back and even if you prefer it, no vendors. Expand the farm. Give "remote" vendor access and please give us a shooting range. It would be so so so nice to be able to chill and test weapons while hanging out in the social space. Particularly if there were challenges and daily/weekly leaderboards.
18) let us grind and build gear sets how we want. There's nothing that really distinguishes any of the sets beyond skins. My choices as a Hunter are basically mobility and resilience. Sorry, no recovery for you today. Someone suggested let us use all our pointless Legendary shards to reroll the gear slots.
19) keep content flowing. So far we've had the faction rally added. It was fun enough, but let's be realistic. It was content that already existed turned into a limited time event. The world events were the highlights for me though as they really brought the planets to life that week.
20) Destiny is still fun AF. The weapons, classes and abilities are still fun. The raid is fun. PvP can be fun. The planets are beautifully crafted. Playing with our friends when the game allows us too is still fun. Just give us more to do. More to Chase and more to experience both with friends and SOLO.
Thank you

I don’t agree with you at all. You see, I like predictability. I get a sense of security from having a certainty of outcome. When I open a milestone package or an exotic engrams on my warlock, I feel safe knowing that it will always be “The Crown of Tempests”. When I open an iron banner package, I rely on the security of knowing that it will be the sub machine gun. When I look back at my year one D2, experience, I will have an immaculate vault full of Crown of Tempest, wardcliff coil, and iron banner SMGs. It will be the OCD guardian’s dream and a testament to the reliability of D2.

I would just like to see light/power system replaced with just a normal XP progressions system. Light/power is such an annoying system that is only in place to force people to grind counteless hours to try and obtain the 1 item they need to level up. Also it would be nice if my time and effort actually went to serving a purpose meaning. If I grind to get highest power level and then go do a activity that is like recommended power 140 or whatever and im a 300 I should be blowing through this power should matter in everything no matter what you play otherwise what is the point in trying to progress. Thise are my complaints. Get rid of the power progressions that literally no one likes it sucked in Destiny 1 and still sucks in this game. Actually make there be a loot grind in this game so that people get excited to get that gun or something they been looking for. Right now everything is all the same nothing makes you feel special and nothing is worth the grind. Same for exotics Xur ruins the game you should never be able to buy all the best gear in the game from a vendor otherwise again what is the point in playing. I have said this time and time again but only get hate. Why should I try and grind hour upon hours to try and get some exotic if I can just do nothing and wait for xur to sell it. I have done this so much and it continues to be the same just like week 2 I wanted the wardcliff and so did a lot of other people and what happens xur sold it and took any purpose out of the game and trying to grind for it. Just make there be specific loot drops in certain thing so something like if people want just say wardxliff or anything like that make it so that gun will only drop on like earth so therefore anyone looking for that specific weapon can go grind that by doing anything on it. Public events, lost sectors, etc... Strikes need more incentive cause again theres zero point in even playing them. Strikes should have their own exotics and unique legendries that are different from all other weapons (AND IM NOT TALKING ABOUT JUST RESKINS) And as far as crucible I don't really mess with PvP but again crucible should have its own unique Legendary items and only Legendary no exotics. So that way if someone who isn't big on PvP doesn't feel forced to play it if they don't want. Get rid of the token system from vendors its dumb and pointless. I just dont get the point in it makes no sense. If your going to give me tokens to use to get all these legendary items then why not just make those legendary items drop in game. Makes no sense to go get tokens go back to a vendor turn them in just to get and item that should have dropped when playing. Go back to the old system of items being rewarded upon match completion especially in stuff like iron banner. There needs to be more loot variety I'm no game designer but really how hard is it to make multiple versions of the same guns and make them do some cool things. Like get 4 different Nameless midnights and each gun does something different from the other and im not talking by perks im talking just the weapon itself. Like maybe one nameless midnight you get will have toxic rounds and they act much like the thorn did. Maybe another versions of the nameless midnight will have shock rounds that add a little shock to your target. Ice rounds that temporarily slow movements speeds just make guns actually different from one another. Borderlands does it people actually think borderlands has 15 million different types of guns no they just make multiple versions of the same gun and make them all do different stuff from the last one you got. Thats what destiny needs to do so that way everytime you get a new weapon its completely different from the last one you got. Also why not make guns also have percentages on them meaning you get one nameless midnight and maybe this gun will do 12% increased damage to cabal. Get another nameless midnight and it does 14% increased damage to fallen. Have stuff like this on all guns so that way people want to try and get full weapon sets and equip them depending on what mission they do. So maybe one week its a fallen nightfall I want to equip all my best gear that is more effective against fallen.

No, the underbelly is terrible, its fun for a short period but having to go fetch chests after a raid is extremely boring if you run regular raids. Get rid of chests in the underbelly and just give us better loot and more tokens in the challenge event.
-
A well thought out piece. Personally the biggest change from D1 to D2 is that it doesn't feel like there is any real reason to grind. The armour and weapons fell so similar that I can't really tell the difference. I loved playing Diablo 3 (for years), grinding to get the same set gear but with better rolls. If I could add my own thoughts, it would be 1) More depth to the gear pool (rolls, mods, perks, sets) that will let us build unique guardians. 2) Load-outs - Individually changing armour and weapons to suit different activities gets old. The Division did it and I think it works very well.

Sols.... we ALL told you this game was going to be a sad balloon, hovering just above the ground, barely maintaining its capabikity of flight, like right AFTER a party ends and everyone has gone home or on to a better party. You told us to just play it before we really made our final calls on it. Welp.... you ready to tell us that we we right, you were wrong, and that this game has already shit itself in its own made bed? I am lucky that i didnt pay for this game and had a chance to play it through game share, because i got more time and enjoyment out of almost every other game i played this year. You cant tell me that this game is better than D1, because it is not. THANKS, in advance, for your inevitable crow-eating that you have to do here. ;)

1 RespuestaBungie, employ this man! You nailed it.
-
Great post, constructive and full of friendship... I mean ..... good ideas
-
4 RespuestasBut I thought you liked the base game. Isn't that what you said a month ago? Remember that? When you were defending Bungie? 🤔
-
Some great ideas, some so-so ideas and some crazy ideas (killing off Xur - ???) The real problem is that the expert game designers & developers at Bungie don't play the game the way we play the game. If they did, we would not have all the issues we have. My assumption is they get already leveled and equipped characters to test each new part of the game in isolation. They never start at 1 and progress legitimately through every aspect of the game. I believe there is a culture within Bungie that promotes playing other games to feedback new ideas and keep things evolving, and that stops them understanding our issues BECAUSE THEY DON'T PLAY THE GAME THE WAY WE DO
-
1 RespuestaYes sir!! You took the time too post some constructive criticism. Well done. You win the Internet for the day. Bungie please listen to this post with intent. I really enjoyed playing destiny 1 and actually was the only game I played for a year. D2 is not that kind of game. I am already looking for other games to fill the gap. Please do these things, bungie Activision, cozmo, deej, there, they should find this now if they do a search haha
-
2 RespuestasWho put you in charge? Like they're gonna change 20 things, lol
-
1 Respuestait's so cute so many people think that Bungie removing things they knew were good additions just to sell them as future dlcs was some form of "accident", but yeah they are listening and discussing how to fix it. Lol please. They knew damn well what they were doing. Sure, it will be fixed, but you'll need to buy the dlcs! no thanks. This greed in gaming has to stop, it's ridiculous.

-
1 RespuestaTry and steal as many ideas as you can from Warframe without getting sued. That should be a good starting point or did you already try that....seems like you already tried that.
-
Dear Bungie, Please take a good hard look at this thread. Despite you screwing over your loyal fan base for a second time, many of them are still loyal to you. Do them a favor and throw them a bone. It doesn't have to be very much as from the looks of things they'll take anything they can get, they're that desperate.
-
Hopefully some of your ideas get implemented. I have moved on to Fortnite ... I will wait for more Destiny content, weapon and armor changes and hope for fun later with this game. At present, D1 > D2.

1 RespuestaAn issue I have with PVE are the Adventures and Quests. How many people have actually done them? I wanted to play the story and see how that ended. But, you get to the end of the story and Adventures have become worthless as well as most quests. They should have been intertwined more with the story or make them harder and more rewarding than the story. Basically, it's a lot of content that I am sure most people won't explore since there is no reward. PVP.....oh boy, where do I start. I loved D1 PVP. It wasn't as laggy/buggy for me as most people made it seem. I loved the maps and got to a point where I felt pretty good about my chances and was able to control certain parts of the map or game. I did play control mostly but would try other IB modes as well. Without the choice to only play crucible, I don't see myself playing nearly as much as D1. In fact, I think I'll be looking to other titles to scratch the PVP itch. I hate the weapon loadouts. I used to love to snipe. That has been pretty much erased in the new version. I can still get the heavy ammo, but why would I put it into a sniper when I can put it into a Rocket Launcher. IB feels useless and unrewarding so far. The game overall, feels like a reskinned D1. Could have been and should have been much better.
-
All good suggestions.
-
Please ask Lord Shaxx to straighten out his red mat he stands on? The ruffled bits are playing havoc with my OCD.
-
This is amazing! I disagree with a few points, but only in small ways. But most of the points are well thought out and should be considered. I think if we got even half of these changes implemented, the game would be a lot better.
-
2 RespuestasJust for the record cozmo, these are issues in the game that need to be fixed in an update. These are not features that we would like to see in future dlc; these are fixes that need to be applied for the game to function as intended. The wishlist was a good start in D1 but there needs to be a to do list. And I think that the first item on that list should be making endgame content more accessible for solo players. Guided Games is a good start but it needs to be built upon.
-
Editado por Kenobi: 10/13/2017 11:56:00 PMWell thought out and I agree with many of the points, however I think 4v4 is great for pvp. They just need to add a ranked playlist to help further separate ranked and casual. Throw in a map and game type voting option too if they don't want to go for specific game type playlists. Also, the issue with xur now is the legendary shard economy vs price of his items is out of whack. It's too easy to buy everything and even then, the drops are so generous you probably already have all the exotics. Thus nothing about him feels special. If you don't already have what he is selling you also don't have to make a hard choice of buying what he is selling and spending your shards. The coin economy in D1 was great year 1 with xur as drops were hard to get and you didn't get a lot of coin, forcing you to really think about what you spent them on. Shards are now already useless in this game.

1 RespuestaYeah this game sucks

Editado por CarnivalLaw: 10/14/2017 12:02:55 AMGreat suggestions, Sols. I haven't raided or run Trials yet, but I'm looking forward to it; even if only once. Edit: Keep Xur. I'm a casual now. LOL Edit 2: Just saw what Xur is selling this week. Kill him.
