So I got on and played Destiny 2 for about 2 hours with no problems. After getting to the point of first missions in the EDZ, the game crashed with this error code. I now cannot play more than a minute or two without the game crashing.
I re-installed the game and encountered the error again within a few minutes after playing again.
Thoughts? Next step according to Sony is initialise the PS4 and re-set everything.
This is the only game I have had this error with so I am reluctant to do the initialisation.
Cheers.
UPDATE 1
I have performed a Quick initialisation and re installed Destiny 2 only to encounter the same crash and error after a few minutes. I am now going to do a full initialisation while re-installing the system software as advised by Sony. I'll update once finished.
UPDATE 2
I have finished a full initialization restoring the PS4 System Update from a USB drive. Re-installed Destiny 2 for the 3rd time. Started a new game on a new character and managed to play the first mission then crash with the above error code.
I then went onto my first character that first experienced the crash. Played through one mission in the EDZ and then encountered the crash when in the public area. I loaded up the same character again and moved onto the next mission on Titan. I ran through two missions and an adventure in the new public area without a crash. At this point my friends were online and I joined party chat and went back to the EDZ to play with them. And after a few minutes I encountered the crash again.
I did not change any video settings after initialization so Boost mode was off.
I am also on a Standard PS4 Pro. No SSD or other upgrades.
I have been approved a warranty return and swap for the console so Im going to go pick it up today. Will update tonight lol. Figured why not ive already deleted everything.
UPDATE 3
Looks like problem solved. New PS4 Pro has been working for a good 3 hours now across all types of activities.
I am not advising anyone go out and purchase a new console to play. But this basically confirms that there is some sort of hardware at fault. Hopefully bungie releases a patch for everyone soon.

Same issues on PS4 pro, purchased December of last year. It was fine for a month or so since I last reformatted back to scratch, now it’s back again and on other games.
-
On my 2nd PS4 Pro since Sony refuses to do RMA's. I purchased a new one on D2 release date while waiting for my original one to go through their horrendous warranty service process so I could actually play the game on 9/6. Fast forward 16 days and I've started getting the error again while in game. Prior to that it would only crash occasionally when manually logging out or changing characters through the settings menu. Tonight it crashed while I was waiting to load into the tower. This is the first real gameplay affecting issue since getting different hardware. I've seen mention of the D2 theme causing issues. I had that theme on my old system but never even downloaded it to the new pro and still have crashes. The only other game I even have installed is Neverwinter. The lack of communication on what seems to be a pretty wide spread issue is unacceptable. How their game can keep causing corruption across the whole system into other games is mind boggling. Really had hoped they would fix it from the beta that had the same problem.

Never once had this code before on ps4 pro before destiny 2 now I get it ever 10 to 15 min of game play , plus now after all the thing they say to do I'm get it on other games. Come on bungie you broke it you fix it

1 RespuestaUpdate Got my ps4 pro back. The Paper that comes with it says they have nothing found. Strange is that the ps4 was not as my main system and i had to set it up again. Probably silent hardware change without agree on faulty hardware? I am downloading destiny2 now . Will report back later.

Come on need this to work. Same code Same issue No update no communication. Shit service

Happened to me twice (CE-34878-0) Destiny 2 on PS4 Slim

1 RespuestaSame here. 13th crash. So frustrating :/
-
Same problem. PS4 Pro day one owner here. What we know for sure: - This error exist since the Destiny 2 beta, Bungie and Sony did nothing with it - This is probably a hardware problem, not software (but maybe Bungie still can do something about it) - This error is quite common in few other games running on PS4 Pro. For example, NBA2K17 or (less frequently) Diablo III. - Restarting game/reinstalling game/initialising system/installing system from scratch won't solve the problem - Changing hard drive won't solve the problem - Changing resolution/boost mode settings won't solve the problem - This error is common in tutorial level, when player is defending Tower alongside Zavala, but still can crash your game in lot more places and activities. For example, in PvP. - Sadly, for now there is not a single one working solution for this error (yeah, I'm angry too) - For now, the best you can do is change your PS4 Pro for new model

17 RespuestasHello, Thank you for your report. I would advise following all troubleshooting methods listed on the PlayStation Support website for this platform specific error code.
-
I had six crashes playing Destiny 2 before I gave up. However now I'm getting the same error in other games in applications. I never had this error until Destiny 2.

4 RespuestasEditado por BrickCarrierKO: 9/6/2017 2:36:44 PMAfter about 10 crashes in EDZ, I switch back to PS4 slim and guess what: zero crash in 3 hours. Crash code is exactly same as when Beta ps4 pro crashed. Nothing improved in the past month. UPDATE1 Method tried: Rebooting: Failed Shut down unplug the power for a while: Failed Switching system language and reboot: Failed Remote play: Failed Even worse, I never met such problem on my PS4 Pro before Destiny 2. But today I tried some games in my hard disk and they will somehow have the same crashing issue (not as usual as Destiny2 though) SUCCESSFUL SOLUTION: I simply switch back to my ps4 slim. No crash whole day no matter what language version I used.

6 RespuestasJust spent £350 on the white destiny PS4 pro bundle and all I get is constant crashes. I booked time off work and this is that crap we get. I don't know why I gave bungie another chance. I'm disgusted!!!
-
2 RespuestasTotally unacceptable. this is a level of bungo i had never imagined. this game straight up doesn't work for pro. reinstalled. reinitialized. everything. Stop telling us to follow support like its on sony's end. its only your game bungie fix your god damn game. you knew about this since the beta.

I do not play on a PS4pro, just a normal PS4. All day today as I was about to be loaded into a match in the crucible quicklplay list I was kicked out with this error (CE-34878-0). However, I was able to load into the story missions and play them until I felt like quitting. Hope this helps

Just to add a little more weight to this post: I'm having the exact same issue as well, it started after reaching the public EDZ. Never experienced any error codes with other games on my Pro, therefore it seems kind of unlikely that it is a hardware related issue.
-
For the record, I just want to add my very bad experience with Destiny 2 on my PS4 Pro (first series). The game is freezing with the ce-34878-0 error code at the very beginning of the game. Can't get past the first mission. 7 freezes so far, and last one crashed the PS4 Pro enough so I had to unplug it. And I had the very same trouble with the beta I couldn't play thru. So, yes, Bungie and Sony had to know. My PS4 Pro is equipped with a 2To DD working fine since the beginning, and I had literally no issues like that with any game (and I play a lot) except a couple of times with Rise of the Tomb Raider. If no patch is coming it's troubling for a multi millions $ budget game.
-
I have the same issue on PS4 pro. Tried all advices without success. Game keeps freezing and crashing after few minutes...Hope Bungie will have a fix soon...
-
I have the standard PS4 (Destiny Taken King special edition) and I'm having the same error as well. Never really played it that much, other than the original Destiny and FFXV. This is the first time it happened to me. One thing I did notice was that after I started up Destiny 2 again, my PS4 started making a loud noise for about 30 seconds. Sounded like a crappy pc fan.

Crashing constantly on ps4 pro. Works fine on normal ps4.
-
Just played for 18 hours on my PS4 Pro with no issues.
