Ok so my great uncle Bob is a short Italian guy who dresses like he should be in the Mafia. For many years now me and a couple of my friends have jokingly called him "Uncle Mobster". Found out recently from my mother that he legit has ties with the Mafia.
Anyone got anything more interesting than that?

My great grand father (mom's side) was a brigadier general in the Air Force who was a fighter pilot in WW2 and the Korean War, my great great grandfather (dad's side) was the superintendent of the Ford plantation in Georgia and was well liked by Ford himself.

My great grandfather was a WWII paratrooper, and often got mistaken for Clark Gable. People would ask him for his autograph sometimes haha. My grandpa was a mechanic for Rankin Ford, and when the new model called the Thunderbird came out, he got assigned to being the Thunderbird specialist. He got Rankin Ford to sponsor him in racing, and won a lot of races and series over his career. He has a closet full of really awesome old championship jackets. After he retired from racing, he opened his own shop, where he works with my uncle, who is now racing. When they started the shop, it was for T-Bird and Mustang restoration, but after a little while they realized that there wasn't much calling for it in the area. They did a few really beautiful cars though. Now they do general mechanic work. My other uncle on my dad's side has synethsplasia(sp?) where he "sees" sounds as colors, which makes him an amazing musician. The way he describes it, when two notes blend well it's a pretty color, and when something doesn't sound right, it's ugly. He can play literally anything by ear after only hearing it once. I tested him on it with Van Halen's 3:16. He nailed it. Blew my mind. He is incredibly intelligent and is a physicist now. My grandpa on my dad's side was a professional diver before becoming a graphic designer. He designed the Labatt's Blue beer label. My mom went through a really difficult situation as a teenager which made her resolve to not be a victim, so she took up martial arts. She got her black belt in about a year, and was 3rd Dan by the time she graduated high school. To this day she keeps in shape, waking up at 4am to run 10 mikes, averaging around 6 minutes a mile. She started a business for Alzheimer's and dimentia patients for people who cannot afford full time boarding situations, or live-in nursing. It's sort of an adult daycare situation where families can drop off their loved ones to go to work, and pick them up to take them home after. They also provide free education and assistance to people struggling to care for their relatives who sifffer from those conditions. She has helped a lot of people and I'm very proud of her. Before my parents got divorced, they held a record for being the longest married couple on record where one of the partners suffered from clinically diagnosed Bulemia. It's something my mom struggled with for a really long time and it can tear families apart. My parents would give talks on how to manage the struggles. Those are all pretty interesting facts, in my opinion.

I've got a big family. Most of my cousins are older than me, and starting to get married. My grandparents are just that. Grandparents. Although my grandpas father did fight in WW1. My brothers are easily the weirdest though. My oldest brother loves sports and is easily the grumpiest. My second older brother is the real crazy man. One time when he was walking by me, he just jumped up and yelled "FAIRY ODD PARENTS!!!", then fell down and started twitching in the ground. And that's just one example. To this day, I have no idea why he does it's

My grandparents were in the Navy when my dad was a kid, and they worked spy duties in Russia during the Cold War. Nothing super dangerous, mostly just taking pictures of Russian facilities, because they didn't have satellites at the time that could take usable photos. The Russian government assigned a KGB maid to work for them, and she almost jeopardized her job to help my dad and his brothers get to the embassy when my grandparent finally got kicked out.

My family has eight kids. The oldest is 19. My sister who is 17 one got a babysitting job at night. The kids were really bad, wouldn't go to sleep, she had to cook their dinner from scratch, and the family didn't pay her. My two older brothers were given the same babysitting job a couple weeks later by the same family. They had already prepared food, the kids went to bed early without complaint, my brothers sat there and watched X-men until the parents came home, and they got paid 60 bucks. My sister was given another babysitting job by a different family. The kids were OK, she made them food, got them all ready for bed, sat with the youngest until she fell asleep, and got paid like 10 bucks. I was given the same babysitting job, the food was made, the kids were great, the parents were back before bedtime so I wouldn't have to put them asleep, and I was paid 40 bucks for babysitting for 3 hours. I guess people just don't like my sister, even though she's way more mature and responsible than the rest of us.
