SOLVED: Yes, you will automatically be allowed into the early beta.

Am I to understand I will never receive a beta code from Battle.net/Blizzard, but that I will just automatically be allowed into the early access beta? Not that an extra day is all that important...

If you pre-order through Blizzard, it will work the same as it did for consoles if they ordered through the console marketplace ... no code will be required, it will simply identify you as having pre-ordered.
