I believe that Destiny 2 will be the franchise killer, and that it's failure could very well lead to Bungie's dismantling.
The net result would be a win for gamers, as the industry would have to wake up to see that we aren't going to continue to buy half-baked AAA releases based on little more than shiny hype. Well, at least, not as many of us.
POWER TO THE PLAYERS!

I'm saying it will, but only if we gamers change our spending habits related to gaming.

I've always maintained that Bungie was their own worst enemy. No other game was going to kill Destiny, Bungie is going to do it themselves.

I think we've all agreed on that for quite some time.

That will not happen. The consumer never wins against the corporation. If it was a true disaster and no one bought it... there will just be no d3. The real killer isn't the game. It's the community. I know like 3 people who played the beta and loved it. Loved it. Until they went onto the forums and read all the crap, then started believing exactly what they read. And I'm like...dude you were having fun until people told you it's not fun. Come on now

That's too bad about your friends. I played the beta, and had a lot more fun than I expected. But, not nearly enough fun to trust that the game at launch won't be really disappointing.

Like the beta had nothing in it. I only played it alot for the first 3 days and a little on the last day. But ya, it pumped me up for d2. It's gonna be a new game lol. I don't understand why people are saying d2 sucks, when they havent seen the whole game

Hey CarnivalLaw, been a long time. I like what you have said, but I don't think that will happen. They are excellent marketers and know how to incite hope into their campaigns. I am thinking that it will eventually catch up to them. What a shame, as I had great hopes in them after Halo - which I really liked. I really liked playing Destiny, even with them continually making the game less fun, it was still fun for me for a long time. But eventually I stopped playing. I came back here to see what people were saying about D2, again hoping that things changed. I was really hoping that it would have been something closer to the original promises, only with new stories and campaigns. I watched the video interviews and announcements, I watched the trailers and then came to the different sites to see what the populous was saying about their experience with the beta. Does not sound good. In fact it sounds exactly the same as D1 announcements, videos and interviews. A lot of hype with the same old malarkey.
