I'm surprised no one is talking about this

Based on the menus it looks like... ...we're going to be able to use mods to switch the element of our weapons. ...we're going to be able to use shaders on our weapons and ship. 2 things people have been asking for in Destiny for ages, but no everything is terrible and Bungie never listens to us, that's the big takeaway from all this. EDIT 1: Slugger4489 brought up some more.
Fast travel points, not having to go to orbit between every jump, and guaranteed public events too
EDIT 2: It seems a lot of people here don't understand the point I'm trying to get at. I'm not making any statement about how good or bad I think Destiny 2 will be and I'm not saying people shouldn't voice their concerns. This post is targeted at a very specific mentality that many forum users have held for a long time now and which has been a major contributing factor to these forums becoming as toxic as they are. This idea that Bungie never listens to us and doesn't care about what we think has to stop. There is so much evidence that they do. Just to name a few things these forums asked for that we got: - Multiple vault size increases. - Equitable melee weapons. - Ways of making old content relevant again (infusion, revamped raids, etc.). - Private PvP. - A freaking giant Shank boss. (honestly who would've thought they'd take that one seriously?) and there has been so much more. But time and time again in the wake of problems impacting the game everyone seems to ignore the positive and pretends that everything is awful and there's no chance for improvement and Bungie is intentionally trying to ruin the game for us and bla blabla blabla. All I wanted to do was put a spotlight on a couple things I thought Bungie did right by this community in the hopes that maybe some people would see that there are some positive things to talk about, that's all.

  • I get your post and do like the stuff they are doing with the variance in shaders and possible element mods but..... For me it should have been.... Let us keep the fun stuff we have and add what we asked for and not Take away the fun stuff we have and give us a morsel of what we have been asking for the last 2 years.

"2 things people have been asking for in Destiny for ages" The key phrase. Did they really need 3 years to do this? No. Instead it's been saved for Destiny 2 so people have something to say is new. These simple things should not be the end all OMG changes for Destiny 2.

If you dont like it, dont buy it. Simple as that. Developers make your game and be happy with it. Live with the results. Gamers buy it or dont and soooo many problems can be avoided. You all arent acknowledging your role in the game going to shit with all your tears complaints concerns about YOUR enjoyment and not the millions of others playing. S T F U Already

            • Destiny 2 looked and played great. There's room for improvement but it's still really fun. It's gotten a Lil more difficult on the strikes etc but I actually enjoy it.

I personally am not talking about it because it should have been a part of Destiny 1 and I'm just consciously taking it for granted. And anyone telling me I'm ungrateful, I'm grateful to the tune of $180 plus whatever else I've spent on Silver. You're welcome, Bungie. Also remember when the boss of The Taken King was going to be a giant spider queen? Yeah. Where is the spider queen. That's what I want to know.

It's not Bungie so much as it is Activision, my biggest freaking problem with Destiny as a franchise is Activision's fat, poisonous name on the cover art. They will continue to make "Expansion Pass" irrelevant, because come on we know those 2 expansions that it covers are NOT going to be the only DLCs. They're going to force Bungie to re-release the hard copy but with previous DLCs AFTER people were fooled into buying the passes etc. And yeah you could say "well don't buy the expansion passes, problem solved," but no, because it's not just expansion passes, if we want to try out a DLC at launch we shouldn't have to worry about it being not only irrelevant when the next one comes out but a waste of money because when the "third" one comes out it'll be bundled with a 'Collection' that's only $59.99 after we payed that for the vanilla copy and DLCs/Expansion Pass for a whole hell of a lot more. So I guess due to Activision a lot of people are just going to wait till possibly 1 and a half to 2 years to buy Destiny 2 so that it's "Destiny 2: The Collection" or what have you. Activision is the problem not Bungie, if only they could have their future titles published by a different company, hell even EA isn't as bad as Activision re-releasing their shit in bundles twice!

                • Noticed that, cant wait to see what all we can do in the game. Also, noticed your edit 2, just ignore them man. It's been obvious that bungie listens to the forums when making some changes, they've even said so in weekly updates. The ones ignoring it are just complaining cause the change they want wasnt the one that was made. Which leads to them complaining more and louder, hoping bungie picks theirs next.

                • Good post. I'm mostly here to talk about the game (stuff I might have missed) and fixing PVE. (the impossible task). Best thing in the beta is the pole dancer (once you learn how to use it). 2nd best thing is the jumps. Yeah they feel different. I like them better once I started to adjust. It might be because I'm using the cliff hanger move. 3rd thing - autos, sub-machine-guns, and pulse rifles feel good. Hopefully they stay that way 4th - Titan supers 5th - New content If "energy weapons" take down any color shield with the same amount of damage....when would the element type matter? Only when there is burns?

It's nice to know that there are others with a more positive look at bungie. Like for real, Destiny 2 has so much stuff added/fixed compared to Destiny that annoyed players: -No need to go to orbit -Landing zones for planets -Less cancerous PvP (the rest just depends on the cancerous community tho) -Lore will be in the game instead of the websites -Public events will be on the map to show you WHEN and WHERE the public events will happen. No longer will you need to go on a website and sit in a area HOPING that you will get a public event -We will have "clan" matchmaking for raids. Which tbh, idk why people don't take that into a factor because that was somethings we NEEDED so badly. -More things to do in patrol. We never had a lot to in patrol and it was mainly a waste of time tbh, but they are giving us more reasons to why patrol will actually mean something in D2. -Social space progression. In D1 you started out with there already being in a fully built tower, but the new social space you will start out with nothing really, it will feel more immersive when YOU help rebuild humanity to stand up and become strong again. There have been many facts that bungie HAS been listening to our comments. Sure I can't wait to play the game, but just like the OP, I have my own concerns about the game, there are some things I am worried about the game. voicing problems about the game is definitely that is needed for D2, feedback is good, but it's sad to see a bunch of people just complain about a game, not because they really want to make the game better, but because they just want to tear bungie apart. They come back to the forums even after canceling their pre order and its like "Why even come back? You won't be buying the game, just leave... you're giving up on the game so why even stay on the forums?" Dislike my comment if you want, call me a fanboy for having a positive opinion on a video game, doesn't matter tbh. I'm just gonna say that just because someone makes a mistake, doesn't mean they can't learn from it. I think bungie has definitely learned from their mistakes (Maybe not all of them, but that is what makes us human.)

I want to make a mega thread in which I quote every person who has presented an intelligent argument for something (for or against the game) and then had to go and add edits to clarify and re-explain their main point. THIS happens too often on these forums. People don't read...they don't care to read and they refuse to discuss anything on a discussion forum. This is why I've found other ways to occupy my time than reading here.

                        • I, for one, think Bungie does care both about this game and the players. D2 it decent now (this beta version) and will absolutely get better within 60-90 days after release... If not sooner. Your list seems a few items short so let me add a couple 1 Competitive multiplayer mode (Trials) 2 Various Nerfs were asked for and given (whether everyone else liked it or not they did respond to the crying Snowflakes) 3 More story, lore and cinematics

                        • From what I have seen regarding the Beta, there are a lot of valid complaints. I agree with a lot of them. If they didn't want our feedback, they shouldn't have released a Beta. From all those wonderful things that you mentioned, none are available. All players can do is review what they have in hand.

                        • Humans focus more on the negative than the positive. We forget about the compliments we receive from others and think "I could have done better" or "It was not enough". We have to really practice being positive.
