I'm surprised no one is talking about this
Based on the menus it looks like...
...we're going to be able to use mods to switch the element of our weapons.
...we're going to be able to use shaders on our weapons and ship.
2 things people have been asking for in Destiny for [i]ages[/i], but no everything is terrible and Bungie never listens to us, that's the big takeaway from all this.

I'm not making any statement about how good or bad I think Destiny 2 will be and I'm not saying people shouldn't voice their concerns.[/b] This post is targeted at a very specific mentality that many forum users have held for a long time now and which has been a major contributing factor to these forums becoming as toxic as they are.
This idea that Bungie never listens to us and doesn't care about what we think has to stop. There is so much evidence that they do. Just to name a few things these forums asked for that we got:
- Multiple vault size increases.
- Equitable melee weapons.
- Ways of making old content relevant again (infusion, revamped raids, etc.).
- Private PvP.
- A freaking giant Shank boss. (honestly who would've thought they'd take that one seriously?)
and there has been so much more. But time and time again in the wake of problems impacting the game everyone seems to ignore the positive and pretends that everything is awful and there's no chance for improvement and Bungie is intentionally trying to ruin the game for us and bla blabla blabla.
All I wanted to do was put a spotlight on a couple things I thought Bungie did right by this community in the hopes that maybe some people would see that there are some positive things to talk about, that's all.

3 RespuestasAs someone who has pretty much left Destiny 1, due to some gripes I had with the game, I will say that I appreciate those things and that's one of the reason why I'm still holding onto my pre order on Destiny 2. However that being said though they listened to some complaints, they also generated some new ones. I'd be lying to myself if I were to say I liked their decision on cutting 6v6 pvp down to 4, I mean I was more so an PVE player but I be damn if I do 4v4. It could of still been an option for 6v6 it wouldn't have hurt no one [IMO]. Hell it doesn't even make sense you go from a raid to pvp...let me stop I'm starting to rant about the terrible logic behind that again. Then they do the whole 2 primaries and putting secondaries with heavies to create in my opinion artificial difficulty. That being said I did peep the new customization options and leaving some hope that it'll add to something new and making bosses less of a bullet sponge. I also feel part of the bad thing with their beta is that people who try it and don't read up on the game or know much about it, probably got bored and are thinking "Well it's the same exact thing." People don't take in consideration all the new free roam stuff you can do while on patrol. Hell that's probably the second thing that is keeping me onto the pre order. I can't speak for everyone but at least from the people I talk to, the reason I think those new additions are overlooked is because Bungie has introduce some more annoying issues with the game that could have been avoided. It's probably worse because I'm feeling like the fixes will be in dlc but promoted like new content "We're introducing the brand new option to now partake in 6v6 PVP, yes guardians enjoy!" Now I'm gonna end this saying I could be wrong and if I am, cool, but this is what I hear when I talk to friends and clan mates, and how I feel.

3 RespuestasI think it's hard for people to get excited because Bungie has a habit of taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back. Although I can see some benefits to the changes in D2, some of them could do more harm than good. Having elemental primaries back, be just a general weapon and being able to change the element? 2 steps forward! Having that elemental primary take over the special weapon slot and putting rockets, shotguns, snipers, grenade launcher etc. into one power weapon slot? 1 huge step back... Don't get me wrong, I love being able to use a scout/handcannon combo, I think it's super fun and if they fix the power weapon slot/ammo drops it could work out really well. But generally, there was no problem with the weapon slots in D1... You could have replaced the primary kinetic weapon slot to be all elemental instead and just get rid of kinetic weapons (since they basically all do the same damage anyway and only certain enemies have shields) and kept a good weapon variety loadout instead of adding 2 primaries. That being said, I'm all for change and innovation, and Bungie isn't scared to make changes that might seem controversial. However, they can sometimes be blatantly ignorant... Such as their philosophy to not separate PVP and PVE balancing...

Having to pull out, now that is a real reason to be upset. Do that a few times then see how much you complain about video games

Nobody is mentioning it because most posts like this get buried under the slew of hate posts, by people who are usually trying to get some sort of feedback across as well. Only they either can't structure it constructively, or the comments on their thread basically remove any positive debate about their points. I'm starting to think that most of the people that post here just want something to complain and rip apart. The first thing I did when I first booted up homecoming was inspect all of the starting gear, and I can't wait to see what weapon and armor mods will be in the game, but nope, that pales in comparison to the travesty that is legionairs taking one or two extra shots to kill. There are quite a lot of legitimate concerns about the beta, but those are quickly being lost in a deluge of salt that I haven't seen since Halo DMR Bloom days. My suggestion is that unless you're ready to withstand the hilarious level of hate here, find someplace nice that people like you and me can actually talk about the game we love without getting dumped all over Just for not getting on the hate bandwagon.

You can also take back the new shaders and replace them with hmmmm maybe a grenade that us actually a GRENADE and maybe a couple ammo packs so I can actually have some fun and shoot my new guns.

They are aiming more towards an rpg experience this time. It makes sense because of actual def stats on armor and the slots for elements on all equipment.

I'm glad to see someone else talking about the mods for the weapons. I'm super excited to see what kind of mods will be available. I'm hoping there will be mods that will grant you different perks for your weapons such as firefly, zen movement, luck in the chamber etc. But I think the mods that you add should only be for PVE not PVP. Except for Iron Banner then the mods can be activated. I'm totally just guessing what the mods will be used for and what they can do but I think something like that would be fun. I guess we have to wait until Destiny 2 to find out.

Hear hear, well said. Ungrateful bastards. They don't realize how much Bungie is actually willing to do. I hear people say they cancel their pre-orders, and I can only wonder "Are you that stupid?" Save your review for when the actual game is playable, damnit.

It looked like u can equip different shaders for each individual piece of armor too. Im digging the new system for weapons too!
