After looking at a good cross-section of players and comparing, I really find it annoying that ELO is the system most widely used to judge skill. With a K/D of 1.63 in Clash and I am rated lower than many with K/D of 1.3 or less....
I mostly play with randoms and don't have a decent team for trials and find that it puts me at a huge disadvantage in terms of ELO despite my decent K/D and often carrying entire teams to a win in 6s. (Not to boast)
I don't consider myself a fantastic player or anything, I'm humble as bloody pie but I'd like a system where it reflected more accurately what I am doing rather than what those around me are...
Anyone have a similar issue?

You get elo by winning, and more so by beating people with more elo. Its not that hard of a concept to understand.
-
3 RespuestasELO is pretty worthless, I've seen people with a 0.8KD and 1800 ELO. The only real way you can judge how good someone plays is by their win percentage, I think and of course KD.

3 RespuestasPeople only really look at elo with regards to trials. Generally the bigger the team the less useful it is. SBMM means you will always be playing people at a similar level to you in other playlists, and as mm tries to ensure a roughly 50% win ratio your elo in these playlists will tend to stay the same unless you yourself frequently swing the entire game in your teams favour.

1 Respuesta1. Your clash K/D has nothing to do with Trials and vice versa. 2. ELO isn't used by Bungie really, so you're asking other players to use a different system to judge you. Good luck with that.

ELO puts you at a disadvantage how, exactly?

1 RespuestaEditado por TorchNet: 5/18/2017 8:58:21 AMIn a shooter with Sbmm KD is not a reliable measure of skill, neither is elo in 6s since it's impossible to carry a bad team. If you match up against a lot of the same players that is usually a good indicator of skill, especially if some of them are known to be good players. It would be great if one could look up the skill bracket they're in. Edit: I just saw that I played you on my 2nd account yesterday in rumble supremacy :) (PSN Qtesto)

5 RespuestasI think K.D holds more weight especially in Trials. Ive seen so many players with 1800 elo and 1.03kd. To me that just says that your buddies are good and carry u to wins. Ive also seen guys with 1.5kd and only 1400. To me this says your buddies suck and its hard to win games.

I have no idea how elo works.
-
I find it very amusing and somewhat ironic how you essentially brag about how humble you are.
-
I think Elo (not ELO) increases if you win or perform well against someone who is better than you If you get kills but don't win matches because you don't support your team mates then it won't help your Elo. If you are matched against people who are a lot lower skill level than you, you might win a match and have a good kd but gain little or no Elo You could lose a match or end up with a kd of around 1 against a superior team and increase your kd because you did better than expected That explains some of the reasons why your kd says your better than others, but your Elo score is worse

2 RespuestasThere is no ELO in Destiny
-
1 RespuestaDid you actually just complain because you think your ELO should be higher than it is? Here's a suggestion, quit camping in the back of the map and help your team, maybe then you'll win games and get your so sought after ELO.
-
Elo is completely worthless in 6s and mostly worthless in 3s. It's somewhat decent as a measurement in Rumble but it was designed for chess, not a lobby with 6-12 players in it.

Only bk randoms care abt elo

Nobody should be judging skill off of an ELO rating. Period.

2 RespuestasYou have a 1.4 KD on one character and a 1.0 KD on another for clash. Not a 1.6

I agree. When I solo que in the crucible, it's just one of the most irritating experiences ever. I'm almost always put on the team with the disadvantage, and it honestly sucks.

In team games, elo is averaged out with each team. So a team with an average elo of 1300 will be the favorite to win against a team with a 1250 average. If the 1300 team wins they will only get like+10 (and the losers -10) but if the underdog wins it'll be like +/-20 for each team. The bigger the difference in elo between teams, the more elo is at stake in an upset (but less is at stake if the favorite wins) So if you have 2k elo but the rest of your team is 1k, and you get destroyed by a team of 1500's, that's to be expected and your elo score will barely go down. But carry that team to victory and you'd get a huge increase. As you can see elo is actually quite fair. However like you said people run strong teams and even tho they see very small increases each game they rarely lose so you end up with very high elo scores. All in all though its a pretty good system, although far from perfect. But there's no such thing as perfect. There's a new system called mmr (matchmaking rating) that may be a hair better than elo, but I don't know much about it. Anyways, no top tier players give a shit about elo anyways, so take all that info with a grain of salt.
-
dont worry about elo its not like its part of the game if destiny had something to show for it in game then it would matter.
