It is recently confirmed by Frank O'Connor that Halo 6 will focus on Master Chief's story this time. Not on both him and Jameson Locke. But, what could this mean for Locke? Will he be an NPC in Halo 6? Will he solely appear in spin-off Halo titles? So many questions, so little answers. But, what do u think about this news? R u happy about this or not? Is this a step in the right direction for the franchise? Discuss now!

My expectations, Chief sacrifices himself to save the universe, Cortana becomes sane at the last second, they share their final love scene, something blows up, Arby and Locke inherit the franchise.
-
8 RespuestasI'm just so done with Chief. His story should have been way over with by now. It's just being dragged on for no reason. Ugh.
-
Who.... cares? It's Locke? Let's be honest the only good missions in halo 5 were the blue team ones.
-
15 Respuestasthey can't recover from the story shitshow that was halo 4 and 5 any more. 6 is bound to fail and i'll skip it. i hate 343's forays into halo, bungie did the story way better.

Editado por Onxide: 4/29/2017 5:39:48 PMGood, I think it should've stayed that way in the first place. I understand what they were trying to do with Locke and the rest of the characters introduced in Halo 5, but the idea wasn't executed as well as expected. They should've taken their time to properly develop Locke throughout the game, much like they did with the Arbiter in Halo 2. If you're going to introduce another main protagonist to the franchise, you can't just shove him in people's faces and give him all the spotlight, you have to give fans a good reason to like and care about this character. Why he is the way he is and what his true motives and intentions are, but reveal it gradually. A good mystery to keep people entertained. Locke is a cool character, don't get me wrong, but he was very showboated in Halo 5, and it seemed Chief took the backseat of the show. For Halo 6, I definitely want them to keep Locke and his team(they can't just throw him and his team away) but explain they're absence in an understandable way. Say that they're on the other side of the galaxy protecting civilians from the Created's influence. Something that makes sense but isn't just throwing them out the window like they don't matter. Eventually make a spin off of them showing their side of the story. But the main titles are about Chief and his perception of the story. I want them to bring back that emotion that Halo 4 did so well, and actually make it relevant again. Continue and eventually finish with Chief's story arc that was there from the beginning. This is the Reclaimer saga after all, and Chief is the key to reclaiming the Mantle. I want this to play a very major role in Halo 6. These are just my personal thoughts though.

2 RespuestasHalo is either dead or dying. They need to move away from MC cuz his story is extremely overplayed now. It's just boring.
-
I'm happy with this and couldn't care less of Locke is on Halo 6 or not. He was such a boring character. Just bring back Buck.
-
I'm hoping that maybe that means that, if they stay with the sort of 4 person squad thing, then Locke will be a part of Chief's squad. That way they can still develop his character for the future, but Chief will still be the focus.
-
3 RespuestasAfter 5, I'm done with the series. Good riddance.
-
I have zero faith in 343. They will screw up again. Not buying the game.
-
I don't see this as good news. Does thus mean that they are now gonna just stick to the safe road instead of tying to expand and experiment with the story and characters. Yea, halo 5s story didn't pan out, but I sure as fuck don't want them recoiling back into the master chiefs shell afraid of the backlash for trying something new. Besides, the biggest reason why halo 5 was suck a disappointment is not so much the story, but the marketing and how they set up the game to be something it wasn't.
-
Can we just can the Prometheans tho they're boring and sponges for the sake of being sponges.
-
2 RespuestasHonestly I think the biggest thing is the prometheans. No one really gets their story unless you're a big lore person, they aren't fun to fight, and the covenant as enemies are arguably more characteristic of halo than 117
-
OH FFS! 15 PLUS YEAR OF THIS CRAP! Can we please just kill cortana, she's done anyway and have Chief Die in the process of saving the Galaxy ONE. LAST. TIME? Good plan great plan.
-
2 RespuestasLocke becomes Angor Rot
-
That's pretty funny. Bungie made Halo 3 Master Chief focused due to backlash of Halo 2 Arby missions. Now 343 made the same mistake and are making Halo 6 Master Chief focused due to Locke...
-
He probably be in the background
-
Can't they just kill him off, he's been kinda boring since halfway through halo 3
-
I want them to crash a planet into Chief and kill him already. In my opinion, he's like Ice Cube now; he started off pretty cool, but now he needs to seriously consider a job in finance or computer sciences because he's lame as -blam!- now.
-
19 RespuestasThey need to retire chief Not kill him, but make it like a legend. That other Spartans look up to Basically, MIA. Forever. Like fallout 1
-
I think it means we will be back to a lone wolf campaign, which i great. I didnt really like four man fireteam setup in Halo 5.
-
14 Respuestas343 is listening to us. This is awesome. I thoroughly believe that Halo 6 will fix most all of the issues that we had with Halo 5.
-
10 RespuestasThere is a lot more wrong with Halo 5 than just the lack of 117. Halo 4 was ALL Chief and still failed. Having more of 117 in Halo 6 won't be enough imo. They need to change a many things.
-
I honestly don't know what they were thinking when The made Halo 5 and they thought it would be a good idea to centre the story around Masterchief looking for ( his friend ) Cortana ( and the plot twist surrounding Cortana ) and yet you spend most of the game playing as Spartan Locke who is hunting Masterchief ( the star of the Halo franchise ). If ALL of Halo 5 was from Masterchief's perspective, there is a high chance that all of revelations regarding Cortana would have been more personal and that the player would have been more personally involved in the story since they are seeing things through Chief's eyes, they are witnessing first hand Chief's heartbreak at the situation he now finds himself in. I did not care for this particular narrative framing device when it was done in Metal Gear: Solid 2 ( and if I remember correctly, the backlash to this choice was quite severe ) so why did 343 think it would it would work for them.
-
Shame. I was starting to like Locke myself. 'Twas to be expected, though.
-
Chief is probably one of the only reasons I play Halo. He is one of my favorite video game characters, making it to top 5 at least
