First legendary- like most it was the strangers rifle. First exotic- Believe me or don't believe me my first exotic was the gjallarhorn. I got it from the prison of elders big chest which (at least back in year 1) guaranteed you an exotic the first time you opened it on a character. It was useful to a completely new player because when I later decided to try and raid crota's end for the first time the people were completely willing to overlook the fact I'd never done a single raid before- as long as I had a G-horn.
