So I was playing crucible yesterday and after killing players I wave to them. Nothing taunting about it, just saying, "Nice fight" I go on and after the game I get several messages including a squeaker-gram shouting about how I"m being disrespectful and a jerk by waving to someone I killed. Now I've been either /waving or /grieving every kill I get since vanilla and I've never gotten a complaint about it yet. I've had players wave back and even send a "Tag you're it" from time to time. So is /waving the new way to say, "Suck it newb!" or are squeakers getting so pissed they got outplayed that they can't contain the rage? I don't know, either way..../wave.

3 Respuestas"Nice fight", my ass. Haha. If you actually believe that waving after a kill conveys a positive message, I'm sorry. I can be of no assistance to you.

7 RespuestasEditado por meatballsublime: 4/11/2017 9:08:24 PMKill and move on. If you emote of any kind... even sitting... it's going to come across as jerky/disrespectful. It doesn't say "Good fight". It says "I bested you, scrub." Honestly, it's hard to believe you have any other intent in emoting, because this is pretty universal gaming psychology. Having said all of that, I accidentally emote sometimes after killing people, mostly as a reflex from raiding and other things. I usually have the shrug emote equipped, so hopefully it doesn't invoke rage. I am good-natured and personally do want a "good game, let's go again" kind of atmosphere, like you express in the OP. Just keep this in mind, communication isn't just about the message sent, it's also about the message received. If you don't want people to get angry, maybe you should try using a different method to communicate... such as a post-game message of "good game" (EDITED from just "GG").

Emotes after a kill are considered taunting. It's to bad they don't have a "good duel" emote or something.

1 RespuestaHere I am sticking people with fusion grenades and dabbing before they die, not getting hate mail. This guy does the generally accepted gg emote and gets hate mail. This makes me upset.
-
I think people who are on the losing end of the battle take any emote as an insult, even if your intentions are good. I personally find it funny when it happens to me, and when I try to do one, I usually get killed right after. The people that get upset are those special little snowflakes that need to go spend some more time in their safe place or get a hug from their mom.

6 RespuestasWould using the pew pew emote be taken as a bag, or a wave?

4 RespuestasI'll do the occasional taunt if someone shotgun rushes me of fails a super. But if you try and run into my defender bubble and I obliterate you, there's going to be emotes.

1 RespuestaIf someone waves at me after killing me, I will bag them for the rest of the game.

4 RespuestasEvery game has something to be used as insults. Destiny's insults are the emotes.

2 RespuestasAnyone that has any real issue with being teabagged or having an emote dropped on them is just a huge pussy

10 RespuestasI would say it's a partly a generation thing and partly a culture thing. For example, I was raised that trash talk and taunting were poor sportsmanship. You don't talk before the game, you don't talk during the game and you shake hands after it's over, win or lose. So to me, any kind of emote use or tea-bagging is poor sportsmanship when directed at an opponent. I grew up before online multiplayer was a thing and I know generations that grew up with versus multiplayer feel differently.

Seeing posts like this makes me wanna change my notification settings just so I can get hatemail.

1 RespuestaBetter just play it safe and teabag next time

1 RespuestaI would recommend getting the salute emote. I do the same thing.

Editado por Kdogg573: 4/12/2017 7:07:44 PMLast night in IB I was on bannerfall. Popped my golden gun and killed the three guys trying to take C. I then used my need to take 5 emote. They said really mean things.

9 RespuestasNotices your on Xbox One, man are some people on that platform really sensitive? Lol. No hating on Xbox Destiny folks but it seems like the salt is often found a lot on the Xbox side through hate messages and emotes. PS4 community seems more chill lol.

With me, I don't send hate mail but I do teabag when someone does that. It's in the moment for me, so I don't see someone being nice by waving or whatever, all I see is a taunt. It's nothing personal it's just what think and feel in the moment
