I have played the original trilogy but I'm not a sucker for hype, so I'll post my objective thoughts of my Trial experience. (Heads Up: it's a bit wordy) Also please try to keep hate or hype comments to a minimum.
First: character customization.. The facial slides are a lot less detailed than in Inquisition, I wasn't able to make any preset look remotely like me, so I stuck with the default. A lot more hair color options though.
Second: the intro.. I went in blind, so I was pleasantly surprised with the intro of the story. You can now see out the window of your ships into space which adds to the immersion of the game (it's a nice touch that I really enjoy). I'm not really impressed with the character design of the Kett. You'd think with it being a whole new galaxy, the aliens would look a bit more "alien". The landscape of the first world is nice to look at, gives me hope for future planets I'll visit, though Eos was drab (not surprising given the type of planet it is though. Eos had one drop point to go to from orbit, hopefully there will be multiple per planet. Anyway, the rest of the intro: I love how they explain how the Pathfinder can use different class abilities, I can see plenty of ways to tie it into the story, both good and bad.
Mechanics: the shooting gameplay isn't anything new, but it's solid. It doesn't have the "tap A" for cover anymore so that'll take a bit getting used to, but now anything big enough to hide behind can be used as cover so that's a plus. The jump jets! I love the jump jets. You can get the high ground easy, hover in place to shoot or use power, and dash horizontally on the ground or in the air for extra mobility (I was able to get on top of the Tempest, which the pilot didn't like, lol). A nice extra touch is if you use a biotic profile, your jump jet is replaces with your biotic powers, your dash is now more similar to a "blink/warp" which you can use to teleport through small obstacles or enemies. The powers have been redesigned visually with some new ones that add tons of options, though it's only limited to 3 powers per profile. No power wheel hud to bring up and choose multiple.
Dialogue: ignoring the animation controversy going on... I like the voice acting so far, it's on par with the series as a whole so far. I also personally enjoy the new "interrupt" mechanic over the paragon/renegade choices. I can now freely interrupt without worrying about being an evil ass or a goody two shoes. Feels more organic imo. There's also a lot more lines even for minor npcs, which helps spew some exposition for those new to the series or those just curious.
Performance: I played on an Xbox One. Considering I wasn't playing in 4K I still found the visuals itself to be passable. However I did notice issues in rendering textures of the face and armor when switching from 3rd person exploration to the up close dialogue camera. There are two post-processing graphics setting in the options menu which you can switch on or off. Film Grain and a light rendering setting I can't remember the name of. I turned both off, and though a fraction less pretty, the visuals are still good and I didn't have a problem with the texture rendering anymore.
Overall: though I wish I had a more powerful console or PC to fully enjoy the visuals, the game itself is SOLID. The story was limited for the trial but it gave just enough of a taste to want to come back for more. Though trying to actively critique while playing, I did occasionally find myself lost within the game. Simply put, I was just having fun.
Though there are things that need to be fixed, I've been convinced that I can put a tons of hours in and not get bored. It's well worth the $60, though I ended up pre-ordering the deluxe version for the SP rewards. I'm a sucker for those.

3 RespuestasI played the full trial. Some facial expressions were noticeably awkward. But all in all it is worth the money if you yoi dont judge a game soley on animation graphics. Seems pretty immersive. I had fun in the trial and cant wait to explore more.

Editado por Unforgiven: 3/20/2017 12:01:58 PMThe reviews are in. This game isn't worth $60. Shame EA -blam!-ed up with a new studio. Good for gamers that there ard professional companies that review games for a living and can save us money buying a overpriced garbage. Rofl. 4 planets? No 7. Why was this garbage so hyped. SMH

5 RespuestasThe nice thing about going digital is that I can read the full game reviews tomorrow and if they are positive, I can download in time to play it when get home from work on Tuesday. If the full game reviews are negative, I can save myself $48.

2 RespuestasFrom what I've seen so far the game looks bad. But from what I've seen so far people only upload things that make the game look bad. I don't really know the good features because people are only bringing up things that aren't good. That's video game communities I guess.

1 RespuestaFinally someone who doesn't review by talking only about the negatives of a game! Thank you for your review. I trust the average, level headed gamer more than the so called "professional" reviewers and the people who, like I said, only focus on negatives.

Thanks for the honest review

Been bashing the game for laughs because of the facial expressions but still eager to get the full game. At least I can count on the game for a good laugh :P

9 RespuestasI think a review ignoring an aspect of the game is doing anything but being honest or objective. Especially when the part being ignored is a heavy part of the game. Note to EA, let your devs work on things until they are finished. Also pro tip bioware, your game is story driven and guided by player choice. Maybe put more effort into that part of the game by not skimping out on animation and of course the writing.

Good, someone not blinded by nerd rage for a change.

I pretty much agree on all points. I think I'll enjoy it even more once the progress limitation is removed. I was trying to ration it out over a few days rather than just let myself enjoy it all at once.

I've heard very mixed reviews, but I don't understand the negativity. I think the game seems really good so far.

After my trial I'm in agreement with most of this, especially the film grain setting, it was the first thing I turned off. I love the views from inside the Tempest, they're in real time too.

Agreed.
