Now I think it's safe to say that the community is quite (VERY) divided over the topic of D1 stuff not transferring over to D2, especially about Emblems and Shaders. I for one am okay with the change IF Bungie has reworked the coloring system (That being said I will still miss my superblack...I had strong romantic feelings for that shader ever since it was seen in the database back in Y1).
So my question to the community is this: Would you be okay with Shaders staying behind if you could choose your own colors in D2? For example, let say I want to be have a primary color of black and a secondary color of green (You could color your class items separately) I would go and select black as a primary color and green as a secondary color. What if you could do this for each gear slot?
I know that some shaders provided a sense of recognition and so letting players choose any color they want may take away from that. In order to prevent that what if players started out with a small amount of color palettes, and they would have to earn them by completing certain tasks? For example a crimson can be earn by killing a certain number of guardian in PvP with headshots and Black can be earn by beating a Raid flawlessly.
This way when a player sees someone with a certain color they can recognize that what you did to get that color and at the same time you can take that color and use it with other color you want to use it with.
Anyway this is simply meant to see if the community can find some common ground, or...you know... not find common ground

I think the color system would be nice. But to keep up with the whole earning thing, have patterns as well.
-
2 RespuestasI just want some simple solid colors like red or blue. Something like the halo customization color wheel
-
If you can pick your own shader it will make shaders quite useless dear, unless then they are replaced with colours. Beat the new hive raid and get a weird tan colour, or beat the Vex strike for a chance of an animated white colour
-
What if we're allowed to pick 3 shaders to bring over?
-
- Little Mexican girl from that taco commercial - "Why not both?"

1 RespuestaI want to be a fisherman in D2, I hope I can be a fisherman.

Editado por thedandymancan: 3/7/2017 9:51:57 PMI ABSOLUTELY want to be able to customize how each armor piece looks! Any Warlocks here wear the Keeper's Cloak earned from CoE? Man, is that thing hard to make look good or what?! Flippin' shoulder part of the coat refuses to match the rest on most shaders. Ugh. On a somewhat related note, why can't we transfer the good stats of one armor piece to another? (Is that what others mean by "transmogrification"? Pardon my ignorance...) I've actually been running around wearing a blue chest piece instead of a legendary. Why? 'Cause it looks better! Sad that most legendaries fall short in my eyes...

Editado por Swiftlock: 3/7/2017 12:36:55 AMIt wouldn't be as interesting if we could just pick our own colors or do something simple like "kill X hunters in PvP" just to unlock a single color. Shaders have meaning. A lot of them are a pain in the butt to obtain, or they require cooperation with other players. Not many games have cosmetics that also have meaning tied into them. Shaders and emblems are marks of our adventures. Will be a shame to see them go if we don't get something similar.

I think they should add a dye shop in D2.

Editado por Sneak Attack 65: 3/6/2017 11:06:39 PMThere should also be options for custom textures/patterns like silky, glowhoo, camo, etc.

Nah, I like collecting too much to want to make my own
-
1 RespuestaI would be fine if they left EVERYTHING behind.
-
1 RespuestaI still want to know where exactly Bungie explicitly said shaders and emblems would not carry. Because unless i missed some line, no one ever said that.
-
Have you guys seen the shaders in Destiny? Leave them behind, regardless.
-
2 Respuestasno. Its not about the look its about the effort some of those took for some people.

13 RespuestasI'd be happy if Bungie stayed behind and another company take over.

Why not just keep D1 shaders then?

If the armor shading system stays the same for D2, as part of the loot grind, then of course they won't transfer. Earning emblems is also part of the loot grind for that matter. I enjoy my Song of the Spheres emblem and my Vallsgarde shader, but it's time to move on and unlock new things in D2, in my opinion.
